Not such good news....

Yesterday while Malena was teaching her acting class, a child attempted to do a Fall backwards, despite Malena telling her what a Bad Idea this was. Malena managed to save the child from harm, largly, I believe by getting herself underneath, but in the process broke her arm and tailbone.

They can't do much about the tailbone, apparently, and they are going to take another look at her arm on Monday. The swelling was to much yesterday for them to consider casting it, and it may be broke in more than one place.

( Malena, ever the Fashion Diva , says she is going to paint the cast black and put sequins on it for BaltiCon. )

She is in a lot of pain and has a special sling for the weekend, but she won't be online much at all. Fortunately, I am going out there tomorrow and can help with things like, driving, cooking and any other darn thing she needs. If you want to write to her, or comment, send them to me and I will make sure she sees things.

I will keep everyone posted on how she is doing and what is going on with the poor arm.

In a related story, Johnny " Big Sexy" Sjogren called me this morning to say he was doing fine after his motorcycle accident, and other than a concussion and broken hand, was fine. Apparently, he says, they told him he hit a mini van.

NOONE ELSE GETS TO BREAK ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For at least 48 hours, I have way to much to do!

Stay well, all of you!

Love and bones,
Lorraine

Spiders in the Night

Our fabulous Spring has come to an end, just in time for my boss to come home, gone are the 70's, gone is the sunshine, all gone, back to cold and grey. Sigh. Well I got the peas, spinach and onions planted, they are just going to have to take their chances. The tomatoes are better off, being yet in little pots indoors. For myself, I am off to LA on Saturday for a week of plotting, planning and practice with Malena.

It looks as tho Mr Paul Score, my bandmate from Paul and Lorraine's amazing un-named band will be coming to Balti Con as well, hurrah! Yes, I will make him bring his guitar, and we will have some fun! He is attending a genetics conference the following weekend in the same area and decided he wanted to be in on the fun. ( not that geneticists don't have fun, I surely would not know, but I am sure they do )

Not much else going on, I have spent the day making sure all the little details are in place for my boss, talking with Malena and researching what to do if a Really Big Spider escapes from it's cage in the night, crawls into ones bed and bites you.

No special reason.

Love and Spiders in the Night,
Lorraine

Spiderific LaMie Loven'

I wanted to show all of you the darling package of spiders Kristina Gray sent us. She made all these little guys for us. I put them on my dresser and just kept looking at them. A few days later I wore them to a script reading. Haven't taken them off since. All my friends keep saying, "Yes, you told us the whole story like, 10 times!"
Hee hee. What can I say, I'm proud of my LaMies and all their talents!!!

Lorraine and I are so touched when we get your letters and gifts. We are so blessed to have such talented, genuine fans/friends. I don't know which I am more excited for..to sing at Balticon or to meet all of you. Thank goodness we get to do both.

It makes my little heart soar to get your comments on the blog and the forum. I find myself spending more time on LaMie stuff than anything else. It's been such a treat to buy the CON merch. Lorraine, Kitty and I went shopping to find lots of LaMie stuff. It was like shopping for stocking stuffers for my kids. I feel like I know all of you. Sometimes, I write things that I read later and say, "Wow! That was personal" but it's easy to do that with such wonderful fans. We are part of each other now. Like a little family of bats...

Speaking of nocturnal creatures...I've almost got Miles convinced to let me have a tarantula again. (I had a HUGE one a few years ago but it died) Of course, Lorraine asked WHERE "it" would live. I calmly reminded her, "In the front office of course"
Not everyone sees spiders as "teddy bears with 8 legs" like I do. I'll just get a baby one. My last spider grew to be as big as my hand. Poor Miles will faint.

Anyway, I just wanted to take a moment and THANK each and every one of you for all the love and sunshine you share with Fablo and me. And for all you newbies...WELCOME TO THE CLUB!
