I have been out Freaky-ed in the Pet World

Hera sent me some pictures this morning of her new Puppy. That girl is more out there than I am when it comes to Strange Pets. I take my hat off to her! She , somehow, managed to get a DOG that is every but as Freaky as her CAT. Don't know how she managed it, but approve, oh yes!

And speaking of Kitties, I rang the Humane Society and Garfield, the poor rescued Kitty, is doing well and has been re-united with his grateful family.

Our Malena is Beyond busy with the Season upon us. Hollywood is NOT a town to mess around with the most important Holiday of the year, and if you are having an event, it is simply not happening unless you can get the Halloween A list, and that means Miss Halloween herself, Malena. And of course, irony being what it is, everything she is currently shooting picks THIS month to shoot. I have been doing the math, using the times I get short little, sleepy , e-mails form her, and I am not certain she actually is sleeping.... I am sure we will get some pictures from her as soon as things settle down, but for now I will post this still from the film she is currently shooting with Warner Pictures...... ( do you recognise her co-star????? FUN! I will oggle George Clooney any day!!)

Spent yesterday our riding with a friend on the sweetest little black mare I have ever road. Fall is the perfect time for such things, and it was almost like a Hallmark movie ( not that I have ever seen one, but you know what I mean ) thru an apple orchard, picking apples, leaves all doing the leaf thing, fun little canters across green fields, it was all there.

Love and Fall and Freaky Pets,
Lorraine

Yep, those are some freaky pets. Hera excels in picking peculiar pets.

Glad to hear Garfield is doing okay.

If anyone could handle Hollywierd at Halloween, our eternal Malena could!! a Halloween Goddess she is.

That sounds like a wonderful ride. I am so jealous. I haven't ridden since a friend in highschool let me ride her lovelies with her. Most often I rode my bike though. I did however get to ride around Stanley Park in my boss's private carriage last Monday morning. Three years of working in the office and I finally took advantage of my contacts there to offer Peter Beagle a private ride around the park (I was Guest Liaison after all). I didn't want to impose but Peter and Connor asked me to come along so I finally got to ride in one of the carriages that I have made hundreds of reservations for. It was super duper fun.

Freaky kitties got me thinking.

Depiliated
Bald, naked little wonders
Far softer than fur.

Crinkle-skinned critters
Revel in love-knit sweaters
In frigid places.

ahhhh, I am dying of envy at the horseback riding. It's a wonderful thing anytime, but yeah, fall is the best and the weather sure is cooperating, isn't it?

(Goth Hallmark = Hellmark Movies? Yes?)

Is Hera's pup a Chinese Crested?

Strange dog indeed.

I hope that our Malena does not work herself into an early grave. There is a LIMIT to dedication for Halloween.

Meanwhile it sounds like you were having a nice weekend. And the perfect weather for it too.

Lovely haikus, Rubius.

hi. I'm awake. Must eat, find food. I'm still picking off eyelash glue. Two parties left to go. What day is it?
Nice dog. Love you all. More pics soon.

Okay, Ms. Fabulous, what you really need next is a ferret. From what I've heard, they get pretty much the same shots as cats, and are very fun to watch playing with cats. Ferrets also use a litter box. The only down side is that ferrets only live an average of six years. Still, it might be worth looking into. ;)

Not that I've ever owned a ferret.

I am lucky in the horse department, many of my friends here in the country are happy to let me ride, and there are extra horses about. I love it...

Haven't ridden in a while, a friend and I had a nasty accident that could have been Very Bad a year ago , riding a couple green broke Berserkers. I hadn't realized I had some fear going on till I went to get up on Bailly yesterday. Took a bit to get ok again.

Nice Haiku!

See? I told you Malena was more Zombie than Vampire , hee-hee....She will be fine, I am going out there in a couple weeks and it will be several long days of sweat pants and couch! No make up, no parties, no photo shoots , just us.

Ferret? Don't think so. Never liked them. Actually I am going to start growing carnivourse plants, am reading a book called " The Savage Garden " Freaky plants! Top that Hera!

Hera's new puppy looks like a Chinese Crested. They are some goofy dogs..sweet, but goofy.

Ooooh you got to ride during the best time of the year Lorraine.:)
I miss just being able to go out in the field and just brush and hand out treats and scratches. (My mom has a couple of horses and she boards with our friends' horses.)

Good to hear from you Malena.:)
I know you're busy being the Queen of All Things Halloween, just hope you're getting SOME down time in the middle of this whirlwind season.

That's a dog? I'll take your word for it ;) I agree it's a good match for her Freaky Kitty.

It seems to be new-animal season - although we are sadly petless still... we were waiting to adopt two baby guinea-pigs, but they died two weeks after being born :( However, we are still going to get some. My husband is making the hutch as I write (sounds of sawing, and frustration, travelling upstairs right now...)

What's everyone doing for Hallowe'en? (Well, Malena's doing EVERYTHING, it seems, but what's everyone else doing?)

I am alive! I too want to know what everyone else is doing for Halloween Wednesday. I'm hosting another party Friday.

I love that little dog. And I thought MY dogs were freaks. Today I will be sending out LaMie gifts. I'll annouce the winners here and on my blog. I posted photos of the parties there too.

I want to ride a horse Fablo. A black one. can you all imagine me on a horse? Haaaa. I've riden a FEW times. It's fun when you have a gentle horse.

I'll be holding a halloween party in my heart (invitations only).
Also: Trying to tie in the last odd bits of loose text before the NaNoWriMo madness starts.
And: Possibly making cookies for the kids in the neighbourhood too.

We are having a party on Wed. for all of my daughter's friends - i have been busy cooking/decorating, and we are both really excited about it! She's a senior so this is the year of the lasts for her. Hope everyone else has fun, I even got a sub for my night class YEH YEH YEH, tho I doubt very many will show up. Bwahahahaha...
Oh Lorraine, your ride sounds fabulous - I too took a bad spill a number of years ago, I think I had dirt in my ear for a week, and I've been a nervous about riding since. We have a ferret, or rather my daughter does, but since she's away at school, I get to take care of it. It's ok, but stinky, stinky, stinky. Oh, great Haikus Rubius, and sounds like you had fun at Vcon - cool carriage ride and all! Sad about the little guinea pigs, K, hope you get some soon. Malena, sounds like you've been beyond busy, hope all goes well - keeping my fingers crossed to see if I get goodies!!

Loki!?!?!?!?! That's the best name ever!!! I love that name (may be my favourite god of all time, has been for years... and I know that is a little wierd).

Thanks for the haiku comments folks.

I'm doing a great load of nothing for Halloween... I will revel in all your halloween plans vicariously. (althought I have already managed to make myself sick of Halloween candy... mmm, more please)

I am staying in my Spooky House on the Hill and handing out candy and perhpas hot cider. ( tho I did briefly consider the Rob Zombie/ Ozzie Osbourne show. If our Kitty had been out on that I would have been )

I could not help but noticing yesterday at the evil Wal Mart and Farm and Fleet stores that the Halloween things were gone, reduced to a few clearence items and that Xmas is now in full swing. Before Halloween????

And Betsy Stemple called and told me they went shopping for a Wednesday Adams costume for her daughter, and the clerk did not know who that was!

What is happening in this world???

Congrads on the gifties!!!! I want a Halloween Gift pack!!!!!

one house on my way to work yesterday had just put out their white christmas light covered deer lawn ornaments... and they don't even have a pumpkin out. oy, what is the world coming to???

wish I had trick-or-treaters but there are none in our apartment. Instead I am just randomly giving candy to my boss's children (and his wife).

At 3:45 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

My block isn't so into Xmas. As one neighbour put it.." Why decorate at below zero temps???? "

It's nice having ONE holiday a year, I never have to re-decorate. Tho I do have a serious fondness for St Pats, THAT is some gig money for us Irish types. Can you say " Washer and Dryer??? "

Today (Tuesday 10/30) I baked cookies for my eldest daughter's kindergarten party. Dark chocolate bats, cats, and pumpkins then vanilla skulls, ghosts, and crescent moons, all from scratch using a Southern Living recipe for pinwheel cookies for the vanilla and chocolate doughs. Since I was using the little Wilson (R) cookie cutter set, I ended up with about a gross of cookies. Tomorrow afternoon, I'll be at the party.

Both my daughters went trick-or-treating as fairies on our home owners association annual Halloween Hayride. They had fun, and I didn't have to get in and out of the trailer so much that my knees were hurting this year. Unfortunately, my husband was unable to hand out candy as he is getting over being home two weeks with pneumonia. Fortunately, my youngest daughter got over her virus a week ago so she could go on the hayride. Her 4th birthday is Saturday, and she has decided that we will be going to Chuck E. Cheese's.

Sorry, no parties here, but still busy. :)

oh ariandalen, the treats sound delightful. Happy Birthday to your youngest, I hope Chuck E Cheese treats you well (I have vague impressions of fond memories from birthdays decades past) Sorry to hear about the bugs in your family. Hope your hubby feels better soon.

Hi K, so sorry to hear about the Guinea pigs, hope you find some other little critters to love.

Ivenotime, a ferret? how slinky, what's it's name?

At 4:19 AM , Blogger ivenotime said...

Our ferret's name is Pan, after the daemon in The Golden Compass - my daughter loves that series - at present he is quite stinky as he needs a bath and paper change. I really had to get used to caring for him but its ok now, he's sorta cute and its not his fault he stinks. and stinks up the family room. and spends much of his day making his paper smell. sigh. its a very distinctive odor. Arian, I could use some of those cookies! sounds yummy! Happy Halloween all!

At 7:54 AM , Blogger Rubius said...

That's a great name. I loved Pantalaimon too (movie coming soon). Sorry about the stink. I have a friend with rodents and I can't always handle their scent.

At 6:21 PM , Blogger Dan Guy said...

That is an amazingly freaking pup.

I hope handing out the hot cider went well!
