Hey LaMies! Webcam party from my house tomorrow at 6 pm (LA time), 9 pm east coast. Now, having said that I can get down to the good stuff. Kitty, our manager/merchandising genius/photographer did some great pics of us last night. I've convinced Lorraine and Kitty to let you have a peak. I think they turned out ROCK STAR fabulous. ..Like a mix between Nikki Six, Heart, and Prince. Oh yeah! Lorraine was such a good sport. Check out miss Fabulous in all her peacock splendor.
I did her/our make-up. Doing makeup on someone else is always fun. I can do mine in 10 minutes. The 3 Gaiman assistants had a blast last night. (I am an honorary "GA" because I'm undead. Hee hee)
We went to Santi Alley in the Fashion District today for LaM merch. If you've always wanted Fablo hair, you WILL have it at Balticon...and on the webstore. We found great colored extensions attached to a barrette, some cross rhinestone bobby pins, fishnet gloves, and all sorts of Glam Goth Goodies. You're gonna love it. Our perfume came while Lorraine was here as well. We'll have two fragrances..one that smells like Fablo and one that smells like DEATH..oops, I mean me. NOTICE the bracelets I'm wearing! They will be available very soon on the site. Semi-precious stones with metaphysical explanations and all! ONLY $12.00!!!!!! (We'll also have the necklace and earrings to match) Kitty doesn't mess around. Check her out with her bad self!!
We're feeling Diva-rific today. Kitty and Lorraine look so beautiful.
I'll try to model some merch tomorrow at the webcam party. Lots of spooky cool things happening at the TEVES house this week. More photos to follow..hey, we've have 1, and I mean 1 hour of sleep in the last 28 hours. We're dead. Lorraine is asleep already. See and talk to you all tomorrow. Wehooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

**chuckle** Last year at Balticon i had a total of 15 hours of sleep, spread over 4 nights.
And i seem to be practicing for this year already, sheesh i need to go to bed!

Yay for webcam goodness! I'll be there with bells on. (Not that you'll be able to see them.) I haven't been getting enough sleep lately myself, so I fear I will have to crash into bed after about an hour, but 1 hour of LaMie love is more fabulous than 3 hours of normal life so it's all good.
Those are some lovely, lovely pics. That goes without saying, of course.

After a break of several weeks during which we were busy and failed to make proper time for dancing, the dear wife and I are back to DDRing nightly. We've finally moved up from "Easy" to "Standard" and are feeling very accomplished. Were you ever able to get it working, Lorraine? I do so hate to let you down. Worst case maybe you can bring your laptop to Balticon and I'll get it up and running for you there? I can find an adapter for it so you can hook it up to a TV; that way you don't have to worry about the small screen and we can use it to play at the con. ^_^

i dragged those 2 divas all around downtown LA & Santee Alley yesterday, ending our day with a drive along the Pacific Ocean. good news, we bought the biggest most beautiful-ist strawberries off the side of Topanga Canyon road, Lorraine & I being the worst hagglers ever, hahahHAHAHA.

I'm not sure that you have to have a webcam to view a webcam. Under YIM "Actions" menu is a "View Webcam" choice, as well as "Invite to View My Webcam" and "Invite to Conference." I guess we'll see tonight. Anyway, my Yahoo IM name is "firerowan."
And yes, there are people who eat all their food raw. The gentleman known as Avocado on SciFi Channels "Mad Mad House" a couple of years ago lives and speaks about the raw food diet. I think he has a website, but I don't remember for sure. ::shrug::
Shouting back to Kitty - I accidentally sacrificed my cell phone to the dark powers (i.e. lost it) but it seems to have worked in my favor. In return, the Universe sent an editor from School Library Journal to my presentation who wants me and my colleagues to write an article about horror fiction for teens. I will get to search a database some day and find my own name. The ultimate pinnacle of achievement for a librarian!
On a sad note, I realized how dependent I am on the bloody technology. Only place I had certain phone numbers and I don't wear a watch so I use it as a clock all the time. So I may have lost some people, and I know I've lost time.
Weird being at a professional convention rather than a fan convention. Not half as much energy, but I'm learning lots and will need a back brace after carrying all my cool librarian swag home (free books, anyone?).

And yes, i am working on and at Balticon. Heh, not only was i chair last year and this year, but i'm insane enough to sign up for next year, which means i'm in the very early planning stages for 2007.
i do different things at the con. The chair really just has to be present in case of a problem that someone else can't solve, but, also, i get to see people who work the convention that are either not club members, or just dont't go to meetings. So it's part networking and part feedback. And NO sleep, hehehe

I was meaning to post about silica - definitely not the same thing as silicon. I've been taking it in the form of horsetail herbal capsules for about a month. It's supposed to help with tissue renewal in general, not just hair growth.
One side effect is that it can thicken your womb lining and make monthly cramps worse - but apparently if that happens you should just not take it for a week before. (And I didn't get this effect last month, famous last words).
Other supplements you can take for hair growth are biotin (B complex) or MSM, but I don't know so much about MSM.
