Happy St. Patties Everyone!

Cats and Rabbits, would reside in fancy little houses....
LA is sunny and wet. My wildflowers are sprouting! Yeah! I love LA weather.

Guess what? Lorraine will be here on Sunday. Yes, we are working on Balticon stuff for all of you. I got new samples of the Nocturna shirts today. We're planning a full on LaM party of Malena proportions. I hear Balticon is having a Masquerade. Costumes and ME go hand in hand. I'll bring the make-up and spiderwebs baby! Check out the Balticon Blog for details.

Is anyone bringing a video camera? If so, WE LOVE YOU! If not, we love you anyway. hee hee Ohh what evil plans we have brewing in our brain. Yes, that's brain, not brains. Lorraine and I even had the same dream last night. Yeah..Wouldn't you like to know! Hey, webcam conference anyone? I'll talk to Miss Fabulous about when.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnd on a different note, I need a piano player! It will be a Jessica Rabbit goes Goth kind of gig. Lots of oldies and blues. NO LaM music though. That's saved for when Miss Fabulous comes to town. If anyone (in LA) wants to play backup for me, email me and I'll set up some dates. Yeah baby!

So that's about it for my jazzy blog this evening. I'm off to find Miles. He's probably out howling at the moon again...or ripping his jacket to shreds. Hey, a werewolf and a vampire? It works!

Music and Magic,
Malena

I have a mini-DV video camera. I'm not good at remembering to take pictures or film things. But I may try.

And I concur with Danth...lovely property.

5 days. Just enough time to get some LaM stuff done. We must get the songs learned in addition to getting merch stuff coordinated. Hee hee

You're blogging from Cancun? Bless you!

Thanks Danth! Vanda, I am with you on trying to figure out electronic devices. Hee hee But hey, it's sci-fi fantasy con..someone will have one, no worries.

No I WISH! It's up the street a ways. It's a custom designed hourse made from a tree. You can't see in the photo but it's a nice sized house. Very Alice in Wonderland. I used to walk by it every day. Then I got too attached to it. hee hee
Due to crazy people, I can't post photos of our house. We already have too many people, "stopping by" and lingering outside.

It does look really pretty in the photo, and does make you wonder what the inside looks like. Unique houses like that can be wonderful to look at and live in, but the downside is that they can be really difficult to appraise. I prepared real estate appraisals for 10 years for my dad, who was a real estate appraiser. Doesn't detract one bit from the beauty of the place, though. :)

Sheesh Malena! You can't even just exist and be without crazies? They don't even realize you and Miles are people with lives? How sad and without respect.

What a lovely house it is. I think what makes it so nice is the way it sits in the landscape. My huzbin builds gorgeous multi-million dollar vacation houses (the ones you seen in the movie "The Truman Show" and other places) and what has always struck me about them is that they have no connection with the environment. I always think that if I were to build a 5 to 10 million dollar house it wouldn't be shoved up against other houses.

Yea I hear you about butting up against someone else's property. Hey! Does anyone know how to add music to your myspace page? I want to upload OUR music. Not choose from what myspace has. Any hints? HELP!

How sad you can't post pictures of your home, but there are lots of scary souls out there. Looks like a lovely area tho. HEY I just read back posts and there is a new record of 37! and snorkeling...ravyn, hope you are enjoying yourself thoroughly, sounds great. Has winter returned with a vengeance to Minnesota??? Caught something quick while half asleep on the news this morning -hope all of you from that area don't have too much trouble digging out yet again. its 30ish here and dots of blue showing - a rare event lately. Oh and Happy St. Pat's day to all! Hope you survive your gig Lorraine, and hope all have a fun day!

I just logged in to send a quick Happy St. Patrick's Day to all of you lovely people out there.

btw, the house is very cute. I love houses that have a rustic/back-woods look to them and especially those that fit into the greenery around them... I thought the pic almost looked hobitty at first.

Hope everyone has a great day... best luck on all the musical ventures... (while I sit back and sing along to older Lorraine music at work... Prince Charming... just had to say that I love it.)

also... LaM, have there been any e-mails to the mailing list? I thought I signed up but haven't received any e-mails... maybe I made a boo boo.... and now I am not sure how to resign up. (maybe I am just crazy)

No. Rubius. We've been bad girls with the mailing list. I will fix that. Sorry honey. I need to put the link back up on the site.

Lorraine is off entertaining the leprechauns today. Even here in Hollywierd all the stores are playing Irish music. Irish music is so upbeat and happy. It makes me want to dance a gig with my favorite hobbit. (All cute short people are hobbits...especially musicians)Hey, if I had only one breast I could be an amazon!
It's raining here today. I'm loving it. I'm waiting for the rainbow. Lorraine is taking photos of her gig I HOPE. I'll post them asap.
Lorraine will be here on sunday for 5 days of music biz stuff. As usual, it will be a blast!!!

being 50% Irish, it makes me happy to see even the sillliest of lephrechaun depictions.
sending a wish out to the Fabulous Lorraine, that she takes her magic stay-awake potion. I hope she is having a blast in the Viking lands & staying safe/sane in the insanity.
Malena, we are on for Tuesday, my girl.

Today is my friend, Patty's, birthday... gee, I bet you can guess why she was named Patty! But I drank the Guiness and steered clear of the green beer! Bleh!

Ravyn and her huzbin got manicures and pedicures today. They seem to be having such a touristy time! Yesterday it was massages. Oh, I feel so sorry for them. Not!

Happy St. P's day to everyone!

Oooh, and of course all of us LaMies are looking forward to a broacast!

rubius: Just found this: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/03/17/AR2006031701906.html

Thought you might find it of interest.

Have to agree, I am definitely looking forward to a broadcast, since somehow I have managed to miss them by accident.

Malena - thanks for letting me know about the mailing list, I was just wondering if I messed up when signing up.

and Vandaluna, thanks for the article, it was interesting. I have been to "Vansterdam" although I have never heard that term before and it made me snicker, I bet it comes from the name of one of the businesses in that area, the Amsterdam Cafe - it is pretty well known around here. Actually I have done a fair bit of tourist-in-the-hometown type of thing and I continue on to the Aquarium to see the dolphins, belugas, and Amazon creatures tomorrow.

As far as the article goes, personally I feel that one's laws should stay inside one's own country... but I am pretty much a "to each their own" kind of person so I figure if Emery wants to fight, let him fight.

I did enjoy the line "British Columbia, a tolerant corner of a tolerant country"... in a patriotic kind of way. tee hee
