I Didn't Know!

Good Morning, Fiends! Well, afternoon now I suppose, slept late and have been lazy. Which is a good thing after a late night.

Now about last night, it's funny, when Dr Wicked went live, I almost told him not to as I knew that there would be a LOT of unhappy Fiends out there saying HHHHEEEEYYYYYY!!!! No Fair, but I figured it was a cool thing for those who were around, and indeed it seemed like it.

But I knew I would have to face the wrath, hee-hee. All I could think of was " I am SO in trouble!" Next time, and there will most likely be two next times, before we bring out the Big Toys for St Pats, you will have plenty of notice. I truly did not know this was going to happen, blame Dr. Wicked! Mwwhahaa!

It's such a cool thing, the idea of streaming shows.I've so much wanted to share this part of me with all of you who live so far, but we aren't a touring band. This may well be the next best thing to live.

It is very strange tho getting used to, doing a show for a whole lot of people that you can't see. Loved the requests tho!

Right. Gig again tonight, which is not going live, as far as I am aware. Two in a row would be kind of hard, but I think it likely that in two weeks we will do it again.

For today, I am going to get things done here at the Spooky House, and be with Bengals, before the gig.

Which sounds perfect.

Love and Live,
Lorraine

Good afternoon, and hope that you and the Bengals have been having fun this morning. Everyone should sleep late and be lazy sometimes!

Also, last night - disappointed to miss it, but fun to read about, so only muted howling :-))

I pouted, but I'm over it. :)

Looking forward to the next one, though!

Right now, I'm waiting for Nick to leave for the afternoon/evening, so I can have the house to myself for a few hours. (Badly needed. Badly.) He was to leave at noon; new ETD is unknown.

I was busy eating an incredibly awesome meal at michael mina here in san francisco last night so i missed the show! The food was worth it though...there will be a review on foodporn :)

we're going to be meeting Adri for lunch...can't wait to meet another fiend in person!

So i got up this morning (late since there wasn't a 4 yr old crawling in bed with us!), peeked out the hotel room curtain and there's a big coraline billboard with the ghost children! i took a picture and i'll share when we get home :)

Good afternoon Lorraine! It males me so happy that I'll be able to enjoy your music without travelling to MN in the winter. After the eye opening this blog has given me on REAL weather, I can guarantee that WINTER is not a season I ever want to be caught in. I'll watch you from California, thank you very much,

Now JUNE, that's a different story! I am SO there for June!

I loved the pictures too!

Chantrelle &Afro: have fun at JoCo - wish I was there!

At 12:00 PM , Blogger Annie said...

For future shows, will the streamy video thing (terrible with terminology sometimes) be saved anywhere for those in different time zones?

At 12:02 PM , Blogger Ticia said...

haha! iPhone loves to change my words for me! The typos I can live with, but "Afro" is Adri!

At 12:18 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Yes, I do think we HAVE to be able to save it for people to see in different zones. Or do an early show....

Like we are doing on St Pats, she say thoughtfully.

Before we play Charlie's, we are somewhere else....And our sort of show works best at Charlie's, sometimes in a Bar, it doesn't work as well....

I wonder......If we..Let me think.

Chantrelle/Adri - I missed that you were going to see JoCo - did you see he's soliciting request via Twitter?

And Boss has linked to a loveley photo of
Cabal in sunshine looking much more alert, and less sorry for himself.

At 12:31 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Oh that's lovely! I hadn't seen that!

What is JoCo soliciting? I think I get to see him in February, which sounds great!

Next time you stream, I will be Ready. I will not give up and go to bed halfway through just because the feed's gone quiet. Hello, intermission! Duuuhhhrr.

Who's writing your bio? Who who who? Nosey Jess wants to know. :)

At 12:39 PM , Blogger Marjorie said...

JoCo - asking people to send Tweets on Twitter, to say which songs they would like him to play tonight

At 12:43 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Ah, got it.

Yes, Jess, we do have to take breaks. Last night we took one, which is kind of a mistake when we do it, as it is hard to play that long.

As to who is writing my bio, I can't tell you THAT! It would spoil my B'day surprise!!!!!!

At 12:53 PM , Blogger Jess said...

Ah, come on. You know you want to.

Yay Nick is finally gone. Only 4 hours late. Depriving me of house-to-myself time.

And let me just say that telling me "I know I'm horrible in so many ways, but I love you" just does NOT cut it. The last bit does NOT compensate for the first part. *grumble*

I have equipped myself for a lovely evening in. I have a new Mark Knopfler CD, and ice cream, and chocolate (dark chocolate goes so well with scotch), and sushi, and a bath bomb thingie, and a new Elizabeth Bear novel to read.

And it's a three-day weekend. Too bad I couldn't pack Nick off for all three days...

I finished the knitting project - toasty warm fingerless mitts. And am nearly done with the unicorn story. I was going to clean some, in those four hours I didn't get, but now probably won't bother.

I had so much fun and am extremely thankful to Dr Wicked for his hard work. It was a great gig, although, sadly, I could only watch bits of it with William blaring "The Simpsons" on the television next to me, and Jack growling at me to give him a turn on the computer. But it was a great pleasure, and I am so happy it worked out.

Will and I read chapter three of "Coraline" today. He's loving it but I'm worried the film might be too creepy for him. He's tough but still very much a little guy.

Hoping everyone is well this afternoon (here)/morning/evening.

I saw it live, so I can't really complain. Much.

Nat, I bet you could if you really tried!

At 1:41 PM , Blogger Adri said...

About to go meet Chantrelle for lunch. Decided to be lazy and cab it, so I have time to comment!

Trip is going really well so far and I figure today will only get better!

At 1:42 PM , Blogger Adri said...

Oh, I have tons to say about live streaming shows and possibilities once I get to an actual keyboard. Can't wait!

Wot a day, following wot a night. Walked 2 miles this AM, stripped the wallpaper from the kitchen, cleaning in places that haven't been cleaned since before I moved in, cleaned up, lunched out, came back and cleaned more, spent 40 minutes on the phone with Qwest trying to get a person to come help with a problem with phone/dsl I created by stripping wallpaper, and finally go through all the comments.

To those who missed last night - I am sorry, for you missing the music, and for me missing the chatting with you. That live stuff is grand craic. If it is any indication of what June will be like, lock up the children, the Fiends are on the loose. Except for EmLady - she may be the child, but we aren't locking her up!

Finally back, folks - I slept late and then went for a long walk. Aaah.

It occurred to me last night to take some screenshots of the stream just before the show ended, and I put up the first one on Photobucket:

http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o44/bgerson23/Picture4.jpg

Look at it full-size and you can read the Fiendage. The sound was great - I came in right at the break - but the video was hard to make out. Dr. W said he'd have better camera(s) next time.

At 2:07 PM , Blogger Marjorie said...

Hi Fluffy - I can't see your pics (it wants a password) - I don't know if its possible to make them public?

At 2:10 PM , Blogger Fluffy said...

Let me check on that - I'm probably not doing something right.

Ah, Happy Weekend. Off in a bit to Pat Rothfuss reading/signing and back again for the rest of the night in. IN. Needing a night in. Yeah, I guess that is the trend.

Maybe I'll actually get caught up on something. Anything.

I can hope...

At 2:32 PM , Blogger Phiala said...

Oh, bath... I should take more baths, haven't done in years. (I shower regularly, no worries there.)

Finally got out as Morgan was trying to batter down the door. Cat and bath salts don't mix, as cat likes to play in/drink bathwater.

Now I am on the couch with the cat on my lap between chest and keyboard, dog at my feet. Very nice.

At 2:33 PM , Blogger Phiala said...

Lexocat, enjoy! That was an excellent book, and I'm looking forward to the next one.

GOOD!
There should be more spicy brains around.
Mine are fried, I should go to bed.

hi everyone! hope all had a nice day, and adri and chantrelle, hope you had a lovely lunch! cool for fiends getting together....lorraine, can't wait to see who is writing your bio, and hope your gig goes well this evening. it's still snowing, about a foot since last night, with more coming, time to stay in - hope everyone has a splendid saturday evening and a cozy tomorrow.

Sue is so snowed IN!

I am still colded in....

At 3:00 PM , Blogger Phiala said...

Q, do you or boss ever use speech recognition software? Or other fiends?

I'm contemplating ways to transcribe some documents into the computer. Typing them is incredibly tedious, but reading aloud might be okay. (OCR won't work for these, alas.)

At 3:01 PM , Blogger Marjorie said...

Still with the cold and the snow over there, huh?

Keep warm, and Q, do drive carefully. Hope the gig tonight is enough fun to make up for not getting to have an early night.(and can I say, that second photo of yours from last night - excellent!)

G'Night all. Sleep well. (not now, I mean later, when it's your bedtimes, too...

At 3:02 PM , Blogger Marjorie said...

Phiala - I think Chantrelle does, (because of probs with her wrists?)

At 3:07 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

We haven't, but Marjorie is right, Chantrelle does...

At 3:18 PM , Blogger Phiala said...

I knew someone used it generally, but wasn't sure who. But I'm specifically interested in using it for transcriptions, and knowing that was a Lorraine task... :)

I dont' know why Blogger let me embed a URL the other day and won't take one today..

Anyhow, I created a group album on Photobucket which has the following address:

http://photobucket.com/FabulousFiends

The password is: SpicyBrains

This will keep the general public (the non=fiendish ones) from looking at our stuff.

Any of you who log on with the password can upload your pics.
