Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!

I'm awake and ready to party, tho it is REALLY cold here, and I think I am going back UP for tea in bed, this New Years Eve morning.

Had the WEIRDEST nightmare to wake to!

The Fiends were having a party, and it turned into being at Boss's house and he had to go to a hotel as we were so loud!

I'll spare you the twists and turns and details as I tried to make it right, but how I got out, was someone told me he had gone to buy another dog, and I said NO. He didn't, and woke up!

New Years Eve!

Tea!!!!!!!!!!!

I think we have to wait a while now for another Happy New Year, is it Rome, or Estonis who is next?

Good morning Lorraine!

Happy New Year Melbourne!

I'm at work, now off to make coffee so I can face the pile of numbers before me.

Us? Loud?
WE would never be loud, now, would we?

MWAHAHAHAHAHA

Let's see at 7 AM CDT it was 12 AM in Melbourne...that means that Melbourne is 17 hours ahead of me. See, math isn't that hard. ;)

Estonia is definitely before Rome, Ms. Fabulous. :)
I went and looked it up.

Happy New Year to Sally and Jacquib and everyone else in Australia!

At 7:27 AM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Europe got kind of tricky. And I am not even sure that , is her name Martha? Nathilie's friend? Our new Fiend? Not even sure if she is IN Estonia.

You WERE loud! In my dream! And there were lots of you and I hadn't KNOWN it was Boss's house until it turned into that when he called me to say he had gone to a hotel....

Shudder.

Fell back asleep AFTER my cup of tea in bed! Al for the best most likely, tonight will go LATE.

Gayle and Aleta will post from their phones tonight, and I can ask Dr Score if he might bring his laptop too, so I can post!

At 7:39 AM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Getting ready for the gig tonight. Got on a lacy thing, and some feathers, which will make Boss look at me oddly, but I can only dress once a day......

At 7:51 AM , Blogger ariandalen said...

You would think that, by now, Boss would have gotten used to you wearing unusual things to work when you have a New Year's Eve gig later. ;)

You know, I feel fairly safe in speaking for more Fiends than myself in this, we would never end up at Boss's house without being invited. Besides, we'll be at a hotel in Minneapolis in six months. ::BIG grin::

Let the invasion begin!

At 8:04 AM , Blogger Phiala said...

And even if we did somehow end up at Boss's house, we would all be very polite. :)

At 8:05 AM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

I know you would not be there un-invited! Weird tho, in the dram we WENT to a hotel, and so did Boss, and I was trying to get everyone rooms, and put as many people as possible in each room, as I thought none of us had any money, only the keys on my phone turned into flags of different countries....

I have GOT to learn t relax!

And we will all be at a hotel in June! We so need to start Planning...Picking the hotel, figuring out how many there are, what we are going to DO....

At 8:08 AM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

THAT'S the weird thing, Mistress! Yo would have been!

And I like to think he would have KNOWN.

And I remember it being un-fair, as it didn't start OUT to be at his house. Hmmph.

At 8:32 AM , Blogger ariandalen said...

Well...you had said you had a hotel in mind, that you played there sometimes. Sue asked that it not be on a specific weekend, that I think it was near or on solstice. I haven't discussed it with DH yet, however, we have to visit his parents this summer so maybe we can have a stop in Minneapolis on the way to Seattle. All I know so far is that DDs have their dance recital on the first weekend of June (June 5, 6 and 7).

At 8:38 AM , Blogger Marjorie said...

I wrote a comment, but blogger ate it. Aren't dreams supposed to go by opposites? If so, maybe there are due to be some very quiet, invited fiends at Boss's house, or (maybe more likely) a very noisy party with extra fiends somewhere else....

I'm sure no fiends would be in Boss's house without an invitation (Not your fiends, anyhow. There may be other, y'know, more fiendish ones.)

I've now finished making soup, and am trying to make Beef Wellington. I have never doen it before, and possibly should have considered the fact that a person who cannot neatly wrap parcels is not, perhaps, ideally suited to make parcels out of mushed up mushroom, and ham, and beef, and pastry. I don't think Sellotape would be a good idea...

At 8:41 AM , Blogger ariandalen said...

What will we do?
Go, "OH MY GOD! So that's what you sound like!"

Okay, so we won't say that out loud. ;)

We plot world domination. Wait, that should be continue plotting world domination.

We sing songs, tell tales, recite poetry. We come up with the world's longest list of puns on a subject which will shift and morph as the time goes too swiftly past. We come up with amazing foods.
We come up with small sculptures that can be hats...or brooches...or pteradactyls.

We continue the magic.

How long until June????

(I'm now listening to The Flash Girls, as I obviously need a refresher course.)

Happy New Year! I love the timed posts.

I can bring my lap top if you want, Q. There is wi-fi?

My phone has decided it doesn't like me to post form it. It worked the first time but no more. Silly thing!

Yes, please, Gayle!!!! Do bring your laptop, perfect! And yes on Wi-fi!

I will bring pieces of paper and a pen...we can write updates with them, and try to fly them as paper airplanes to the fiends around the world! Yay me!

In other words, I'll be there tonight too-but probably not until midnight. I'm not old enough to stay up that late. =) Either that or I'm scared of all the drunks driving around on the roads after midnight. I can't remember which.

Happy now-belated New Year, Fiends down under and a bit further west.

Happy Music-Playing tonight! Happy celebrating, fiends all over the world. 2008 felt like one long slog to me, but there are many happy notes here for the way the year is going out. I'm taking these as omens for a better 2009 for all.

Happy new year to the antipodean Fiends!

What's everyone up to this New Year's Eve? (or day) Quiche and Paul have a gig... I'm currently getting the tile replaced in my kitchen for fun and excitement, but a party later tonight... How about everyone else?

Personally, it is my hope that if your nice Boss found himself in the midst of our fiendish party, he'd find a way to enjoy himself. ;-)

(I too had a terrible nightmare right before waking up -- it had all to do with work stress and things going wrong on deadlines and money issues and trying to pick up my kids on time and ended with me and my husband, with whom I am having ... difficulties ... driving home and him looking over to see my written schedule, losing control of the car, and us crashing through the safety rail on the freeway and sailing through the air. I was very calm as I could see the ground rushing up to meet us and I looked over at my husband and said, "I'm sorry, sweetie," while wondering if I would actually die or just be terribly injured. Then we hit and I woke up. Not my favourite way to wake up, but, well, here I am anyway.)

Honestly, I have no plans. I will be living vicariously through y'all. So you better have a good time, dang it!! :-)

Hi there, Val. I am doing dishes and trying to figure out which clothes really need to be washed and which can wait. Then it's PARTY time! :) I can't seem to find your email and wanted to send you something I drew. I haven't scanned it yet and the photos are not very accurate but I still wanted your input.

At 9:56 AM , Blogger Na said...

This afternoon, when the guy gets home from work (supposedly early) we're walking down the snow-piled alley to a neighbor's house, to visit for a couple hours, take them a bottle of wine as thanks for collecting our mail while were stateside, and let the kids visit with their cats. No partying here, but hopefully, some relaxing.

Val, how long before repairs are complete?

At 10:14 AM , Blogger AletaMay said...

Interesting to hear what everyone is doing. Glad you are feeling better Val!

My celebration will start this afternoon at the Monte Carlo with the traditional New Year's Eve Afternoon Martini and Chicken Noodle Soup. There are 10 - 12 of us who for the past few years have met there before heading off to whatever evening/midnight celebrations we have. For the past several years I have come home after the Monte Carlo -- I do enjoy a quiet NYE -- thinking, resolving. This year -- assuming the weather and my car are all good I will drive out to Charlie's after the MC and party with fiends! Wee. I do hate the idea of driving home with the drunks, but I am hoping that most of them stay out later than I plan to.

At 10:20 AM , Blogger Phiala said...

I have no plans.

Work all day, go home.

Boring, I know.

Happy New Year!! I'm late to the party. I missed New Zealand. So Happy New-Zealand-in-the-Future, Hera! Fill us in if you see flying cars.

That's one heck of an out-of-control dream. I hate those. Poor you, Q-- you've got a lot on your plate. You'll make it!

Last nightmare I can remember clearly happened last week. I dreamt both my cats had died within an hour of each other: one of Something Mysterious, and the other of grief over her sister. Am over it now but I'm worried about the levels of treacle-thick cliche in it. Bleah. :D

At 10:42 AM , Blogger Dread Val said...

Sounds like a good mix of plans. ;) Some staying home, some work, some partying, some Fiendish partying!

The tile replacement should be done today; then my pantry shelves still need to be put in again. And the the contents of my pantry can go live in it again, instead of on my dining room table. And that will be really damn nice.

At 10:51 AM , Blogger Na said...

How bout your dreads, Val? Ever get to the hair doctor?

At 10:59 AM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Don't forget, those of you who say you are doing nothing, we ARE having a party here!

And I will have lap top access during breaks and at midnight! With other Fiends posting in between!

And this party doesn't end until it is midnight West Coast!

(Dread Val kind of stars in that one, drinking for me!)

I think we are coming up soon on Estonia or Rome.....

Hopefully I did not miss anyone's time zone!

At 11:01 AM , Blogger Na said...

Ha ha! I'll be here, too.

At 11:07 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Phiala, I will be working a little bit and then coming home and being relatively boring. But I will be checking in here to see who's around and who isn't and to wish our Fearless Leader a wonderful New Year as she plays her fingers plum off! :-)

Thanks for the kind words, Jess. Normally, I'm a problem-solver in my dreams and I don't have many nightmares. I guess I was just trying to put paid to a less-than-stellar year.

Off to get some fractions worksheets ready for my homebound. Happy New Year's, European-time-zone fiends!!

At 11:22 AM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Fearless leader is stuffing Tubes and singing The Song, all FIVE verses of it in old Scottish, in preparation for Midnight!

Do you know if Dylan will be there?

At 12:08 PM , Blogger Dread Val said...

No, na, I never did get over to Hair Police that day, as events conspired against me. Sadly. But they'll be back in February, and my hair will just have to look atrocious until then.

Quiche, I'll have the drinking under control: text me throughout the evening with the current number of drinks I need to take for you. ;)

Adding my belated New Year's greetings to Melbourne (and New Zealand). Happy 2009!

Wild dream, Lorraine. Am I alone in being tickled that you said "NO!" to another dog? It's one of those details that makes stress dreams like this possible to chuckle over once the initial ickiness fades.

We're staying home tonight as we have a party to attend tomorrow (go figure) but we will be part of the Fiendish festivities! :)

Of course, if we decide we MUST be with other folk in the flesh, rather than virtually, there's this huge party just around the corner. Tomorrow it becomes the route for the Tournament of Roses Parade but tonight it's Five And A Half Miles Of Crazy.

At 1:08 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Next belated HNY--so that's TWO glasses of champagne, soon as I'm back from the store. Alrighty then!

Sounds like a wonderful NYE plan for all of us: whether going in or staying out, much staying in touch. Plus partying w/the gig at Charlies! Yay! Somebody grab a little bit of vid w/your phone and post it tonight, PLEASE! Thanks.

and Val, I got your back. If you can cover the serious stuff, I've got the champagne :) As for the new pantry shelves, that seems an auspicious way to begin 2009.

Q--well, it could have been worse. It could have been that the Bengals were partying too loud (NEVER give a Bengal Irish Whiskey!!) and (wait for it) caterwauling...

while the Fiends were climbing all over the trees and knocking them down. heh.

Have fun with the Tubes, my dear (always did like their music)
and great day wishes to all.

Off now to catch up with y'all in the future.

Oh Q, I don't think Boss could resist partying with us all, and I imagine us all being very noisy and happy.
