Meilleurs voeux!
Tanti auguri!
Beste wensen!

So many people in that time zone.
Next hour we will have the UK (but not Ireland, if I remember correctly).

The kitties are NOT amused.

Ireland is different?????

Hmmm...I sort of included them in the UK, which I am certain will lead to all sorts of trouble.

I sang a verse of the Scottish version of the New Years song, to the people in the post office. They remained un-impressed, and wary.

The post office people did ask what "they" would be doing for the big countdown for New Years, and what plans "they" had to make it a big whoop-dee.

I explained that Paul and I WERE the big Whoop-dee, and if anything happened it would be from us.

Now they know someone who makes a big Whoop-dee. I think they are impressed....

Poor dears! I bet they aren't!!!!

Why are you and I the only ones at the Party for Rome????

At 3:20 PM , Blogger spacedlaw said...

Everybody else is either recovering for their own party and/or in bed and the others are preparing themselves for it!
I shall go to bed as soon as I can rally the cats...

At 3:22 PM , Blogger spacedlaw said...

Yeah, stay with us or I shall have to sing and it si not a pretty sound. Not making Whoop-dee here...

I think you are right, m'dearie. Rally your cats and go for some sleep. I will see you at the other end of things!

Happy New Year to New Zealand, Australia, Estonia, Italy, and everyone in between! Loving all the time zone posts :) Ireland's on GMT same as the UK, only thirty three minutes to go. The fireworks started an hour or two ago but the kitties are remarkably chilled, *nothing* to do a large dose of catnip earlier!

Happy New Year, Nathalie! Sleep well.

Yay, Nederlands! Beste Wensen, Nathilie ...

... And all of Italy!

At 3:35 PM , Blogger EmilyLady said...

Well, that looked a bit strange -- what I really meant was that I was so thrilled that Nathilie was using Dutch. I'm telling you, I never get to practice my Dutch and it's one of my very favorites!

Aw, I missed the party in Rome. Late again. Happy New Year, Nathalie!

Great idea, moving through the time zones. Wheee!

Very fun to think of you serenading the post office, Ms Q.

I was at the grocery store, with everyone in the surrounding neighborhoods, apparently. I kept asking people if the stores were closed for the next five days, or was there 20 inches of snow on the way? Eh?

Partying with Rome and Estonia and half of Europe and the UK and Eire - much more fun.

Yes, as one might say in Japan, "Yuki ga futte imasu ..."

... Because it IS snowing, although maybe not in Japan.

Bonne Annee Nathalie! Just passing through having remebered an urgent errand - can one successfully chill champagne in only 17 minutes?

At 3:45 PM , Blogger Marjorie said...

OH, And hope your gig goes well, FabLo!

At 3:46 PM , Blogger louisa said...

If Dan had his Freeze-Ray Gun working it'd be chilled in 17 seconds!!

Gott nytt år!

I was checking my spelling on that, and found this

At 3:55 PM , Blogger Na said...

Emily, my babelfish is not working. What was "Yuki ga futte imasu"? Just curious. :)

Five more minutes to New Year's in Dublin, according to my worldclock!

Only just approaching 6pm here in US Central standard time, though. I'm going out to a couple of friends' places to visit, but will celebrate with you fiends via iphone as well. :D

Happy New Year Nathalie.
This is so much fun.

off to get a caffeine hit, back in a few minutes

Oh goodie
I've caught up with you all now, despite my sleep.

Let me fill you in on NY day here...its verrry verrry quiet.
Fiendish me wants to go and start the lawn mower to pay back that Fire Works Demon, but not much point if he has moved on to terrorize the pets of Fiends in other countries.

Oh look - one neighbor is up.

My plan for today is to stay in my PJ's all day.

Oh, I missed TWO while I was walking home... Happy New Year, western European Fiends! (Trying to cover both zones at once...)

I took the long way home, through the ice sculpture gardens and past the parade. Mysterious creatures in paper mache masks, that last.

This year the ice sculptures are not at all melty. Quite the reverse: the audience is all icy. It's cold out there!

Now trying to figure out what dinner will be, and what if anything we are entertaining ourselves with this evening.

Besides Fiends, that is!

At 4:21 PM , Blogger Phiala said...

Er, and not for dinner...

At 4:26 PM , Blogger Marjorie said...

Sal, how's the PJ plan going?

Today the wind was so strong that it blew all of the neighbors' Christmas decorations into the woods. Yet still no snow. As if to add insult to injury, it started snowing in Wii Fit.

snowing in Wii Fit? How the heck does THAT work..oh well.

na I hear ya, a 40 minute trip turned into three hours. And this town is only two miles across! At most!!

And thanks for the link, the Korean works for me except the last two words (printed as one)but I might have learned it colloquially.

See you all next post!

Happy New Year, Nathalie!

Yep. I'm five hours late. Been to the grocery store and back. Washed DD1. Ate dinner. Changed sheets. Currently watching "Elf."
