Happy Halloween!!!!

The Most Wonderful Night of the Year!!!! And it's here!!!!!

Makes a girl pretty happy, it does, all the little trick or treaters coming, my Spooky Town is all lit up and running, the ones that have batteries anyway, I have a seriously weird Rabbit....You HAVE to see this rabbit....But first....

Cabal the Pirate Dog!

And my Boss's Sweet Bunny....

Or not.....

Here's Mim doing her best impression of Halloween Kitty in front of the Spooky Town. Spooky Town is hard to shoot, I think we will wait and let Miss Kitty shoot it when she comes next, and give it it's own post....

This being The Most Wonderful Night of the Year, this is only the FIRST post of the day. I'll do another when I get home from the gig late tonight, after Midnight, Mmmahahahah!!!!!

I want to call out especially to our Lurking Fiends. This, being Halloween, you are very safe, especially here with us. Why not, for this one night, one magic night, de-lurk and be Fiends with us, all together? You may melt back into the Mist tomorrow, but tonight....

Is ours...

Love and Magic,
Lorraine

You ALWAYS Rock, Lorraine!!

I was enjoying spooky themed music all day today and 'Buried Things' is still one of my favourite spooky albums... it's spookier than all the others... except maybe for Dark Sonnet on Mirror Mirror.

I definitely want to give out FabLo CDs for Xmas... but I can't order until my computer gets fixed. I REFUSE to input my paypal info on my old dinosaur computer... it is virus/spyware laden.

Hi

I didn't take notes and now I can't remember who said what! But it was all very clever and entertaining.

Phiala, you are awesome. You know enough about all that stuff to speak (write) intelligently and interestingly about it. Just goes to prove my theory on exams. You cram all that stuff into your head merely for the passing of exams and you don't get time to actually think about and appreciate what you are learning.

Metal, on skin, in snow. Ouch.

Yay! I've earnt my first pair of geek panties. I got 10/13 for the witchy quiz. My daughters (and I) loved Meg & Mog when they were smaller. Hell, we still love them now!

Cabal looks very smart and he's such a happy looking dog. But the prize has to go to that awesome bunny. My what big teeth it has.

I have to go pack now, for the back of beyond.

Happy Halloween Everybody

Oh and the nano thing has officially started here so I'll have to do some manual scribbling while I'm away. Hope I can remember how to hold a pen! There was actually a rather large article on it in our major newspaper this morning.

At 5:15 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Forgot to add I hope you have a great gig Q :)

Oh, Grendel is so jealous of the Cabal costume!

Here's some entertainment for us poor rock-less fiends: My Pet Skeleton Presents: Scuttlebuggery; and My Pet Skeleton Presents: A Murder of Scarecrows.

Jaquib, have a great Holiday! Write lots!!

Mistress, (hee-hee) love the music and the graphics, but will never be able to get the little buddles anywhere, I have not that skill....

we are trick or treating as I type- kids and grownups all in costume! This really is the greatest night!!!

& cabal is so handsome!

At 5:31 PM , Blogger Phiala said...

Oh, I'm lousy at it, but it's fun to run the little bug around and fight with other bugs. :)

At 5:36 PM , Blogger Beez said...

Happy Halloween!

Pyrate Hounde Cabal looks like he wants a steak....and someone to play with. Yahr!

I am not going to stay up all night playing Pet Skeleton games...no sirree, not me.....

SO, thanks to spacedlaw and her Witchy Women link in the previous post, I dipped into the pages Radio Brazil. Now I am bossa nova-ing and samba-ing away the evening on last.fm..

I forgot how much I used to love S. Mendes and Brazil 66.

Yes. I are old.

At 5:36 PM , Blogger marym-d said...

p.s. Now on to haunted house with a renewed zest 4 life....how great IS this holiday?!

At 5:43 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Marym-d! How fun is that? Hanging with Fiends WHILE trick or treating????

This IS the best Holiday ever!!!!

I can't make the little bug run around. But my laptop is seriously weird....

I need to find that link again, I got so busy, I missed a lot.

And what the heck AM I going to wear???? This "Need to leave for gig " time is closeing IN....

At 5:46 PM , Blogger Siri said...

Whew - finally caught up, but still links to check out.

I was a fiend at work today - graveyard shirt, skull barrettes, skull hand jewelry, and a brazen fiendish attitude, thinking of all you. Many comments on the amount of skulls - no one else on my team dressed - there were a few other costumes around the office, but.

What was your best Halloween night?

Disscuss...

Jac, what are you doing posting distracting games when you should be writing your novel? Bad girl.
May your gig be perfect Lorraine.

Dragonsally, there are only 19 comments and you can't keep track?? :) I posted the games, and I can't start writing yet, since it's still October here!. I have hours to play silly games.

At 6:26 PM , Blogger Dragonsally said...

Oops, so you did, Mistress of Skulls. My bad.
I'm 3,200 words into Nano....I can't believe that I am having fun with it too. I am blaming it for post confusion though.

My story is so writing itself, its incredible.

At 6:29 PM , Blogger Phiala said...

You rock, Sally! That's fantastic. I hope to do half that well... not that I'm going to be up late enough to start tonight - it's only 9:30 here. I should go through the rest of my notes, though...

At 6:39 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

OK. I am dressed and off for this gig. Could not for the life of me figure out what to wear, so I just wore everything I liked best. My Evil Keeps me yound tank top, long gothy skirt, rhinestone skull earrings, way to nice a necklace which TOTALLY does nto go, four HYGE rings, spider bracelet, knee hight boot and the tinyest witches hate EVER, covered in bats.

Works for me.

When in doubt, wear it all and worry about it later.

See you soon!!!!!!!!!

At 6:41 PM , Blogger Dragonsally said...

Well, Pete and the animals are asleep, so the only distractions here are the Fiends.
I'm starting to get a little stiff and sore now, so will probably have to stop soon and have a shower. After all it is nealry 1 in the afternoon and I am typing away in my pj's.

At 6:43 PM , Blogger Jess said...

Happy Halloween! Hooray! \o/ I made Spooky Hummus.

Hubby says that Cabal looks very pleased to be a Pirate. I agree. And Mim looks very pleased to have Laser Eye Beams.

I like Spookytown! We need a proper tour.

Louisa's shrunken-head book display is delightful. I'm still giggling about that. :)

At 6:46 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

We will do SPookytown tour right when Kitty gets here.

Ok, ok, I am GOING. Gig starts in an hour and 15 minutes and it only takes an hour and ten to get there.....

At 6:49 PM , Blogger Jess said...

Criminy, I thought you were already there!

Why can't we all be in one big Fiendy Time Zone?

At 6:51 PM , Blogger Siri said...

Write, Sally, Write!! Make us other nanoites green with envy. I'm off to start the Graveyard book. I saved it for Halloween night. I'll either finish it, or fall asleep trying.

I get to wake up to the Late Night Post. Rock on Quiche!

At 9:38 PM , Blogger Stacy Hurt said...

so hilarous that she used the word mist. I didnt have time to read anything until just now but am sending the pics to Fablo. El takes such great shots. We had a blast & 'flying' through the neighborhood getting and giving candy. Some people even stopped us to take our picture. We skated over to a friends house which meant we had to cross a huge major intersection; cars were honking at us and cat calling; it was totally fun. Fods my feet are telling me about it now though.

What a fun evening. I've been good and only had one piece of candy! Yay me.

At 9:44 PM , Blogger marym-d said...

and the excitement lasted until the real scare, when headed south on Highway 61, a water ballon was lobbed at our windshield. Scared the wits out of me/us! Water balloons r loud at 55mph! But we r fine as is my beloved's windshield & our storm trooper (I think that's what his costume is) thought it was great excitement! Aaarrrggghhh! Tricks!

Sally - u go girl!

Phiala- you are right, metal bra in northern clime... I think not. Remember how fast skin freezes?! Brrr!

Lorraine I can take fiends trick or treating with us by virtue of my iPhone (no jealousy required I have the old one) & because my husband indulges me to "rest" in the car as he & the boys forge ahead.

I'm now entering the grown-up potion I mean portion of our Halloween with a grey goose dirty martini & some live TAPS on sci fi. The miz is on, what??!!

At 9:48 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Holy cow I didn't have time to check before work and I missed So Much Cool Stuff..
But I did wear my sparkly devil horns to work, since that's the closest they'd let me come to a "costume" while working.:P

Cabal the Pirate Dog is adorable!:)

Vorpal Bunneh! lol

Hope the gig went well.
Gotta try and see if I can get pictures off of my camera and onto my geriatric computer..

At 10:04 PM , Blogger AletaMay said...

First, I should have gotten going before 9:45. I think that would have made all the difference in the world.

Second... I used to live and play and work in Downtown Minneapolis. For years actually. Back in the day I would not have been daunted by drunken crowds and road construction and no parking and one way streets and all that. But I must admit to having been overwhelmed. After circling ever closer to the pub for about 40 minutes I just had to give up. I guess I am getting old. So sad.

I think I saw you out on the patio on one of my passes Q.

I'll send some photos of how I looked in my special drive around DT MPLS costume tomorrow! Too tired to mess with it tonight!

At 10:27 PM , Blogger Rubius said...

vorpal bunny!! lol indeed

At 10:48 PM , Blogger ariandalen said...

No. I think it's a carnivore's mouth masquerading as a bunny.
Yup, yup, yup. ::nod, nod, nod::

I have apple heads shrinking in the oven. Went to the grocery store playing Mannheim Steamroller's "Halloween" album, bopping down I-35 the whole way. Blasted "Night on Bald Mountain" in the parking lot, and not a single soul looked. ::sigh:: Granted it was broad daylight, before noon as so happens. That's okay. I got lots of smiles and comments inside the grocery store while wearing my witch's hat.

We won't go trick or treating until later, like about 18 hours. Whee! This means I still have time to carve my pumpkin.

Roasted turnips are really good with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, white pepper, rosemary, oregano and honey. Used the same spices and herbs, except the honey, on the pork roast, and it was good, too.

I think it is time for Mike's Hard Pomegranate Lemonade.
::nod, nod, nod::

At 10:52 PM , Blogger spacedlaw said...

Yeah, why not come and delurk and add yet MORE comments!
(I remember when getting 50 comments in total on a post was an achievement - some progress!)
What grumpy, MOI? Not at all: I love reading all the fiend's comments.
I need tea.

Cabalis the cutest pirate ever.

And in case someone is still looking for a caffeine hymn, here's the Java Jive by the Puppini Sisters.

Oooh angry hummus!
Right.

Here's a witch question for you:
Who played Glenda the Good, Witch of the North, in the movie "The Wizard of Oz," and what was she known for before the movie?

At 11:14 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Okay, I am SO behind the times.... below please see the post I left on the OTHER side (y'all moving too fast for me!!)

Phiala's a LAUREL!! Wowsers.....I bow deeply to your greater knowledge, Mistress!

Besides, your words and link do make more sense. The Digg link was great fun, tho :)

MarjEvilTrip and others, much thanks for good Get The Job thoughts.....I'd like to say it's in the back, but they never are until they are, if you know what I mean. There may yet pop up someone out of the woodwork more highly qualified than I.

Two Amackers? How can this be? Evol Twin not doubling is................
Speaking of herself, have you seen her since the accident, Q? I know she has traveled about a bit...but haven't been in touch since my return (she sent LOTs of great/weird stuff; hmm, much like someone else I know :))

Wow.....jealous of Kitty I am....and most feeling for Ariendalen. Been there, done that-- Sometimes it is JUST crazy around there!

We got back from Albuquerque JUST in time to turn on the lights in the Hairy Skeleton sign post and drip glow juice over the skulls, pumpkins and tombstone.

Oddly, being short of time, I just grabbed a broomstick cotton skirt and one of my black hoodies w/skulls (yah, I'm a grown up. Yah, I got goth clothes too. Hey, this stuff NEVER goes out of style!) and that scared the cats. So, think I...good enough.

We got an AMAZING amount of kids!! Evidently our street (for about three blocks) is one of THE Hallowe'en spots. People load up the SUV w/kids and drive from wee towns seven to ten miles away to trick n treat here. Who knew? I had ordered loads of cool candy from from Oriental Trading company (Foaming Witch Eyeballs and the like) 'cause elsewise it is Walmart; but we ran out by 8:15 and the kids (of all ages) were still swarming (okay, in smaller swarms@) up and down the block.

I think the population of the tow I live in doubled tonight :) Because it already has half the population of the county!

ANYWAY.....terribly cute little kiddies, up much later than usual and EXHAUSTED by all the scary stuff (classic case of neighbors all trying to outdo each other) I had to make silly voices to keep them from running away. Maybe I shouldn't have dripped red glow stick juice down the side of my face so it just showed from under the hood)
Had great fun, though. Couldn't get any pictures, and think Chantrelle totally wins on the absolute creepy front anyway. Those eyes are straight from my younger self's nightmares!!

Finished off my Hallowe'en watching HGTV's haunted house special (hey, are some of these people Fiends? They look/sound oddly familiar :0 ) and now, having caught up on you busy busy people, watching Dean Stockwell in The Dunwich Horror. oh, my blushing garters! :)

and now I need to save my serious verbiage for NaNoWriMo, as it is after midnight here finally....
Blessings and Safekeeping to you all, on this All Hallow's Day!

Pooh..I got my pictures onto my computer, but when I try to email them to your gmail acct, it keeps telling me the yahoo server is goofing up and to try again.

My sympathies.

sigh

Glad show was great, tho, and TOTALLY unsurprised by that. Looking forward massively to pics!!

Oh, no. 1 hour and 14 minutes of my first 24 used up, and nothing posted to NaNoWriMo!!

is sure copying and pasting blog comments made after midnight isn't technically legal. Or even morally right.
