Me and a Book! With Chocolate and Leopards!
How about, for the merest of moments, I at least start a post with something other than our (yes, "our" you are all in this with me!) as yet un-named Leopard? Won't last long, but we can give it a go...
There is a new book coming out in a week or so on my Boss, called "Prince of Stories: The Many Worlds of Neil Gaiman" . It is a lovely book, a huge book in fact. When our copies came. I asked Boss "Who knew there was so much to say about you????" But I mention it because there is an entire chapter about me! Who knew? And my essay "A Day In The Life Of A Personal Assistant" is in there, with an interview.
This would mark the first time something I wrote has been published in a proper book! (Thank you, she says, taking bow) I have had things in papers, and magazines and online but this is my first BOOK.
And I am honoured to be in such company. A little celebration is in order, Val, if you would, raise a glass for me tonight.
For myself, I have an entire box of Mango Truffles. Which sounds like fun, but I have already had four over the course of the day, and am not at all certain any more would be a good idea. I know my limits, with chocolate anyway.
They were sent with a request for a favor (which I joke about, and am grateful for, but is truly not needed, always happy to help) and I have no idea who you are or what I promised you, but , these are great. Whatever it is, you can have it.
(Thanks, Erin!!!)
The Dog started Advanced off leash class tonight, and amazingly, did quite well. He has come so far in the 18 months he has been with us. I am proud of him. And of me, I knew NOTHING about Dogs when we started. Our first night in class, Cabal had to go to his own room, as we simply could not control him, way back when.
Ok, The Leopard Report. (I am so getting my own show: Fabulous Lorraine and the Leopard Report..Learn the deep jungle secrets of taming and loving these rare exotic creatures!)
Ok, so we are not ready to sign exactly yet. Not much to say today, he hid and came out and ate while I was gone. I did play a bit with a pom-pom on a string this morning, and when I got home, it was in his empty dish, I dangled it some more, but he didn't look at me,or if he did, I couldn't really see him under the ottoman. I gave him more steak and left him alone.
Marilyn has done a lovely post about him over at her new Blog, so nip over and get a professionals opinion on our guy, who may or may not be named Magic or Merlin.Or Dan.
Love and Nice Things,
Lorraine

Hi FabulousLorraine,
I would like to be the first to congratulate you. Published. In a book with your boss. WOW.
Many thanks! I am pretty proud of myself, if I might say so!
So was it a surprise? Did you really have no idea? The essay you wrote about assistanting was really great.
You should write your own book. I came across a book the other day called "Chore Whore". It's about an assistant to fancy pants celebrities and some of the awful things she had to do. (hmm, I don't know where I'm going with this, because I'm sure you don't have to do awful things, but I hope you get what I mean).
Congrats on the book!! That's so darn groovy!
I'm not a fan of fruit/chocolate combos unless it's fresh berries, but i'll have a Fleur de Sel caramel and a glass of wine to celebrate your book :)
I finally got to take a bath for the first time in about a week (i *have* showered though, don't worry!) but the repair guy came today and the tub is fixed...woo! It was lovely even though i had a 4-yr-old jumping on me, it was still relaxing.
I remember the first post Boss had about Cabal, I can't believe it's been a year and a half!
So, is that Leopard Report like the Colbert Report? Leopar' Repor'...you are studying french ;-)
I have been watching the Colbert report lately, can you tell?
And well, yes, I did do the interview and they did ask if they could print the essay, and I spent yonks of time arranging things for them, and setting things up and getting them the ings they needed for the book, soit wasn't a surprise exactly, but somehow it didn't hit me til we got advanced copies...
Baths are good. So are hot tubs...If I wasn't so tired....I am going totake the plants out of my tub here, and make a pond for Venus and Mim, with floaty toys. Some people get feeder fish for their bengals, not sure I am there with that, tho I am not dissing them for it...
lalala, Lorraine is published!!!! lalala Lorraine is published!!!!!!YEY!!!! congrats and all good things, how so awesomely cool.
and do have another chocolate. yum. chocolate - i wish i had some, i would so have one in Your Honor.
I skimmed over the last set of posts, lots of cool names offered. How bout Buddy? loving, good sounds, simple, easy, and if they assume qualities of their name, it will be good. uh, like rocket who did assume qualities of her name. i lost my glasses in the woods chasing her, and she was almost hit by a car a few days ago. my advice is to stay away from names involving speed :)
Congratulations! And of course there is a whole chapter about you! You are obviously a big part of that particular story! I look forward to getting this book.
Oh mango truffles sound lovely. Yum.
I'd watch Fabulous Lorraine and the Leopard Report. In fact I'd even get cable just so I could watch it -- assuming it would be on cable.
So many good and interesting names! The godchild had two suggestions tonight and I seem to have forgotten them now. They were sort of uncommon common male names. I'll ask her to remind me of her suggestions tomorrow.
I had dinner with the godchild and her father tonight. After dinner we played Clue. Very fun.
I had a cat some time ago named Buddy. Loved the guy, a stray, he slept with me and was the best cuddler every night. He didn't like much of anyone but me, and no one bt me much liked him. He went away one day and didn't come back, as happens to cats in the country..
Clue is always Good, remember those names!
And of COURSE it must be cable, no network shows here! This is not mainstream crap, can you IMAGINE who they would get to play me and the Leopard????
Congrats on the book!
I've been thinking of some Australian names, I can't remember if Sally has suggested any, but here you go
Lucky - because he hasn't been lucky or he is now because he's found you
Spot - because he has them
Ceefa - C for cat
Elfa - L for leopard
Ceefa Elfa - combination of the above
Claws - because he doesn't have any
Noclaws - because he doesn't have any
You have to remember, we have places called Shark Bay, because it's full of sharks.
Many thanks, NotShakes! Appreciate the wishes!
Jac, you mke me laugh! Woodsman Hans and Merryhousekeeper are still voting for Cuddles, or Cuddley...
CONGRATULATIONS! :)
You could always go with Myrddin instead of Merlin. There's also Gwydion and his uncle, Math, both illusionists and magicians. ;)
I like Math, actually....
Still don't know him tho, poor guy, won't let me yet.
Granted, with all the names being suggested, maybe he should be named "Awen," for inspiration, specifically from above. /|\
I knew this would be hard, and knew it would be very hard, but doing it now is very hard, trying to love something that is so scared.
We connect, but not to eachother...Thru a toy, Iplay with it, he leaves it in his dish.
Baby steps.
I will do this.
Give yourself some credit, dear. He hasn't even been with you for a week! He's eating and exploring his space! He let you pick him up, granted on an ottoman, and did NOT attack you. All this in LESS THAN a week.
Those don't seem like baby steps to me.
You are perfectly right, Adriandalen....Time, it will take time. I have just become so very fond of him, he has a hold....
Well done you! That piece is great so it BELONGS there.
Morning Nathilie! Thank you!!!! I do feel good about it tho, like my cd's once they are out, there is that feeling of " I could SO do that better" which I am sure is something everyone feels...
I know. That's why you sometimes need a different perspective.
A few days ago, DD2 was petting Tangwyn. She was truly being gentle, but eventually he had enough and just put his teeth on her hand to let her know. She broke down in tears and kept saying, "But Tangwyn doesn't understand! I'm being gentle!"
Bonjour (ou bonsoir) Lorriane!
Stories are a bit the same. I'd look at things I published two years ago and think "I don't think this came out quite how I wanted it to". But you can spend all your life editing stories and never sending them on their way.
You just have to send them out, stories or music, and then do another..
Cat have their own time and agenda, don't they?
I am off to bed, :night all!
Sweet dreams!
Bonne nuit!
Congratulations on be a published person. I a, definitely going to keep my eye out for that book.
Jac, you forgot the great Aussie classic, Deefa..d for dog, because he's a cat.
I've just come home from another 4 hour marathon at C & A's, after doing computer work. It took 2 hours for Service Pack 1 for Vista to download and install. Bloody hell.
and then I tried to get various nasties checking programs to do their things because something is so not right with that computer.
I need caffeine, so I'm off to put the kettle on.
i'm so excited for you being published. that is awesome.
i've never had a cat, but i must say i know 10 times more from reading about the fosters and the new mr. mysterious. you have such a kind heart opening yourself to this scared creature, he will surely find peace in your home. i love waking up to see what new cat post you have each day. ah, the joys of time zones.
Sweet dreams FabulousLorraine.
Sally.... how could I have forgotten that?? How un-Australian of me :)
Mr Mysterious chimes a note, it's a bit long though.

Wow! Congratulations on the book - I just went to look on Amazon - as it's out on 6th December that's definately going on the christmas list. And of course you deserve at least a chapter of your own. . . The essay on assistant-ing always makes me smile when I re-read it. (Love the cover art too - that has to be Dave McKean?)
I think Myrddin (or Dan) would be great for the Leopard. Sir L'Ocelot is great too, but maybe too hissy.
Marjorie, thank you for the prompt -I've gone and put a pre-order in for the book. I'm going to have you in print Lorraine, YAH
Woohoo! \o/ What lovely news to wake to. Yay for you, and an essay in print! I love that essay.
Call him Mango. Mango Dan.
Lorraine, it is definitely hard work! At least you have lots of mental support and good wishes!
Myrddin is hissy if pronounced in the Welsh way - dd is a th sound. I kind of like Merlin, but of course the boy gets to decide for himself once he's calm enough to think of names. Until then I'd probably be calling him "pretty boy" all the time. :)
Letting animals choose their names can be entertaining - people were always terribly confused that I had a black cat named Ghost.
Oh my Fod. I don't want to change the subject, but it's breaking news: Fudgie the Hamster, a resident of East Lothian, has gone missing behind the skirting board in the kitchen. They're trying to fetch him out via a combination of chocolate and vacuum cleaners.
This is officially the best news story of the day. :D
Magic Mango Mon?
This morning? He hid, I lobbed some steak at him and played with a pom pom. Mim took the ficas down. Again.
HEY! Can you tell I have tea here at the Spooky House???? I will never be tea-less again!
I am happy about this book. I keep looking at it. It makes me want to get off my butt and get my own book out.
That is a pretty funny story, Fudgie. Some people have NO trouble naming their pets.
How about an anagram? Darpole. Perload. Ropelad!
Run Fudgie Run!!
That's wonderful......I especially love how after the fire brigade failed they left it in the hands of the SPCA.
Congrats on the book....that is fantastic and I can't wait to see it.
Hmmmm..a book of your own....too bad you aren't doing anything fascinating like, say, living with an F-1 or something :)
It's fun to be close to books like that, isn't it? Even if your contribution was small. :) There's a book out there called The Thames Embankment which I was given to proofread back when it was still in proof-pages. I feel proud and fond of it for having had a chance to work so closely with it-- and it's a book about sewers! :D A really interesting book about sewers, though. You'd be surprised.
Oledarp! Aerpold!
I called him Merman when I went in today. Un-impressed. Will try the anagrams...
Hmmm...There's something to that Arwen. We'll have to see, right now it would go like thi:
Chapter 1: Brought home F1 Leopard Thing. He hides.
Chapter 2: Still Hiding, came out in the night, probebly from the ceiling and ate. Then Hid.
Chapter 3: Hiding.
Hopefully, this will get more exciting, Marilyn and I could write it together perhaps, she could do the behaviour bits and me the color commentary. And Kitty could do photos.
Not a half bad idea....
London sewers underground? Who would ever put them in a book or TV series?
Fods, on my second cup of tea and I am not even into work yet!!!! I am so funny!!!!!
Heh! Last night, I was suddenly moved to go down to my local pub, and called my best friend up. At the pub, he asked how you were doing, Quiche, and I might've raved a bit about your fabulousness; and this is the odd part: we toasted you. So to come in this morning and see your post where you asked me to raise a glass for you is cracking me up. Spit coffee and everything.
Congratulations on your chapter in the book! So are you going to be signing copies for the Fiends? *prod*
See how much better life is with Tea? ;)
Tea is my friend.
How cool is that, Val? Fiends are SO in tune with eachother, I send a thought, and you nip to the pub and toast me!
Thank you!!!!!!!
Right, me and my tea fueled brain are off to work. Media day, got 'em stacked up like air traffic control...
Big congrats on the book, anyone who can keep the Boss from going out into public in his pajamas or without his shoes or socks definately deserves at least one chapter :)
I never claimed to have done any of those thing, hee-hee, I mean, I'm GOOD, but not that good...
Phiala, I don't hear Myrddin as hissy. The "dd" is pronounced as the "th" in then, not thin. And it beats Mephisto, where you not only have the "sssst," but you have the "f" preceding it so you have "fffssst." I could see after I posted that that it might not be such a good idea. :)
And the main character of The Jargoon Pard is named Kethan.
Just noticed that a new Fiend posted then un-posted..Come back!! I liked your comment, and anyone who lives somewhere where mangoes are coming into season, is definitely my friend!!!!
(Can I come over??)
AH, yes, I am thinking Meffffiiissssto is not his name. I really LIKE it tho...
Of course you Fiends speak Old Welsh...Why am I surprised???
Too bad merman doesn't work...Tori's song lyrics fit quite well:
He's a merman....doesn't need something you're not willing to give.
Actually, seems like our mysterious magoe friendly disappearing fiend was Jacqui (well the mangoes would be in season in Australia, of course).
Mangoe would be a nice sounding name for a cat, although probably best for a female cat (unless this is just me, because "mangue" in French is a female gender word - fancy fruits having sex... No. Please. Stop thinking about it NOW.)
Well, of course fruits have sex. That's where little baby fruits come from! Ya know:
apples -> crabapples
grapes -> currants
tomatoes -> cherry tomatoes
:)
But seriously, I swear to Fod that I have had more than one student in my college-level intro biology courses that did not realize that apple trees had flowers, and that flowers were necessary for making fruit.
This comment has been removed by the author.
I forgot the best one of all:
sweet corn -> that tiny cute corn in your Chinese food.
And I also forgot: Congrats, Q, on the book!!!
Oh, man! Phiala, it makes me want to bang my head against a wall. I can imagine the silence that follows in class.
The mind boggles.
He DOES like water...If the water around his dish is any indication, and these kitties DO like to swim.
Fruit Sex. Only here.
You need flowers and BEES. To make fruit. And people do not know this?
The name was Goodtimecharlie, how many identities does Jacuib have, hee-hee...
I want to be where mangos are...
Lorraine, thought I saw that on the Bosses blog one time, but I could be wrong.
The name Pluto keeps popping up in my head as to possible kitty names, the planet Pluto that is, or the God..... not the dog.
I want to be where mangos are could be the first line of a song. Write it! Right now! Drop everything and get out the bagpipes, quick! Who needs work when we've got music?! \o/
Fruit sex? No wonder there are so many spare vegetables in my fridge these days.
Pluto will always be the dog to me, sadly....
OK, I am buying that fruit has sex, but vegetables???
I thought it sounded like a song too, and I would be writing it, but there ARE times when it is more important to Assist, you know...
Red Dwarf leaps to mind:
"I want to lie, shipwrecked and comatose,
Drinking fresh mango juice,
Goldfish shoals, nibbling at my toes,
Fun, fun, fun, in the sun, sun, sun,
Fun, fun, fun, in the sun, sun, sun."
Now if we can only work zombies in there somewhere.....
My Mango song will have ZOmbies in it. And all sorts of other dark creatures of the night, I mean, what fun would it be without them???
Ah yes... The secret life of vegetables. They do have to keep warm a bit, you know...
Oh, vegetable sex. Some do, some don't. It all depends...
There are a couple photos of the current state of the Famous Exploding Knife. And cat. And stuff. (Me, trying to get a few photos posted before I lose them!)
Oh wow-- that is COOL. Well done to the Master Smith! :)
And for those who, like me are fans of Dave McKean's work - Val? - AND live in the US or in Canada (excluding the bloody French speaking annoying creatures who live in Quebes), you can enter a free competition at the Fabulous book's publisher's site to try and win a signed poster of the cover art (signed by dave Mc Kean, obviously). Which is a lovely thing to behold. Trust me. You have to be 18 years old or older but if you aren't, my fiend, get your parents to enter the competition for you.
Wow, Quiche! Congratulations! Yes the next step is your own book but I think basking in this accomplishment is appropriate. For now. :)
I really like "Math" as a name! Triggvi (Trigg) means loyal, secure, firm. It's what M's Dad wanted to name him. I wanted Hillel. We compromised. :)
Your essays are fabulous!!! I've loved every one of them. I am so impressed that they're published. I'm doing the *Happy Dance* for you!
Ok, dancing has ended. I have scared the co-workers.
And you're welcome. It's funny, every time I see or hear the word "MANGO" I think of you. I've been totally programmed. It's a little weird.
Mango salsa, Mango marinade, Mango truffles, Mango ice cream, MANGO MADNESS!!!
I'm glad you enjoyed it.
By the way, a co-worker comes up to me today and says, "Hey, remember that guy you interviewed. Well, I saw three people on the bus reading his book today. I guess he's pretty big, huh?"
LOL! Ya think? :-)
Also, the favor was for book thing. Yes, vague. Just in case my writer friend is reading this blog today.
Anyway, enough about me. I want to know more about cats! Specifically, what's the difference between F1 and New Generation? I'm completely intrigued by your new kitty and want to find out more info on this topic.
Okay, first things first. Congratulations on the publication Q! Very cool.
Secondly, I would advise against googling the phrase "fruit and vegetable sex." Where's the unsee key?
Thirdly, Phila, once I saw the results of a survey given to the public with this question. "True or false, genetically modified tomatoes have DNA in them while naturally grown tomatoes do not." More that 60% said True. *hangs head with heavy sigh*
Perhaps an alternate title to our currently-in-the-ether album could be, "Late night mangos." I have no reasoning behind this other than it dances some interesting images in my head.
Oh, and I never meant to name your cat after pestilence, I just liked the sound of the name.
My Famous Exploding Knife!!!!!! How cool is that?????
A contest? With my book? (Yes, it HAS morphed into MY book)
Thanks Erin, I love it when people do the Happy Dance! Yes, he is doing ok, Book-wise I would say.
I do want my own book. I would love to have a book like Jean Kerr's "Please Don't Eat The Daisies" she inspired me pretty much in the humorous essay department. She was so good.
Yes, when you think of Mangos, dream of me....
Check this out for Bengal Info: http://www.bengalcat.com
Early Generation is anything before F4, which is when they become a domestic cat.
Hi Paul, ok , WILL not good fruit and vegetable sex. (At least until I get home tonight...Darn you.)
I was thinking on the way to the store, that we were discussing both Science and Sex, and thought you might get wind of it and pop over, hee-hee....Called that one!
I'm actually surprised that foodporn.com doesn't come up when you google fruit and vegetable sex! (yes, I looked, but didn't open any links!) although "sex" isn't mentioned much at all on my site.
I see what people are searching for in my weblogs and there are some sick and twisted ways people get to foodporn.com!!
Thanks for the book poster contest link, I entered! Then I e-mailed my local comic book shop to see if they're going to be carrying the book before I go out to purchase it somewhere else... I'd rather give my money to them -- the comic book store featured in The Lost Boys :)
I had more to comment on, but my thoughts have left me. Maybe I should have one more cup of tea before I pick up Ben from school! my weekly acupuncture for my wrists is relaxing and wonderful, but I think it makes me kind of stupid for a couple of hours after my appointment -- I don't think that's a good ad for acupuncture ;-)
OMG, Chantrelle! foodporn.com ? hehe!
Eating food will never be the same!
Lorraine! Fabulous site! I want a Bengal kitty now!!!!
Erin, if you do truly, want a Bengal, there are SO many in rescue waiting for homes. Our Foster Group had to stop taking in rescues because we are full up in Foster Homes.
Most of these kitties are perfect and fine and loving. Most are notproblem cats, or Early Generation I just take the problem ones.
A Bengal Kitten from abreeder will cost $600 and up for a pet.
A kitty from a Bengal Rescue Group will cost $150, all of which goes to the group, and not to an individual.
Email me if I can help find you one in your area...
If he likes water, he sounds like my male Maine Coon. Try a dog's water bowl (can play and splash but not tip over) and get used to sodden toys. I wish that someone would make a nonporous, floatable cat toy for our kitties who like to make Mousie go for a swim.
My husband, also a cat person but not usually a reader of blogs, is now hooked on your tales of the F1 Boy. Last night at dinner he asked "how is that lady with with Bengal male rescue doing? how is it going? does he come out yet?"
Love and cat kisses from Michigan
Hi Marla (And Marla's Husband) and welcome!
There will certainly be more stories of this guy, I feel like we are all rescuing him together.
I know there are floaty toys out there. I saw some vids on You Tube of Bengals in the tub with floating things.
Some people use feeder fish, but I am not sure about the kitty sushi, we'll see how he does...
Nathalie, saw the poster contest, already entered it. ;)
I like how Paul gets summoned by mentioning sex or science on the blog, and I get summoned by mentioning sex or drinking.
All can be summoned somehow...
(Cue spooky music...)
Apparently I answer to botany and knives.
I'm not going to think too hard about that...
All can be summoned......unless, of course, we're already here....
Mwahahahaha!!
Hurrah! I have loved that essay on the day in the life of an assistant since I first got a look at it via Boss's blog.
You -do- need your own book.
*enters contest*
Now- Zhang Na informed me that "Little Ghost" in Mandarin is Xiǎo Guǐ (shee-ow gway).
The 'sh' is almost a 'ch' sound.
However, cats are frequently called Mi Mi because of the meow sound.
Yeeessss....We live here, and we like it......Come with us......Be with us , or we will summon you....
Right. Like the names Beez, but I will never remember the first, and Mimi was a hive we had that died.
Play again?
Well, how about Guǐ for ghost? No hisssssy S sounds.
I gotta say though, I really love Mango Dan.
Yeah, I guess my summoning ritual does seem to be a little simplistic. But hey, it works. Val, I hear you on the drinking aspect, but it's the actual drinking that tends to summon me, though these days it's cheaper to just talk about it. sigh.
Whether its science and sex, botany and blades, or whiskey and wantonness, we all belong, and I'm proud to be a part of such a wonderful group of people.
*also entered contest* - come on new art for the apartment!
I have been summoned by talk of mangos and firemen....
My niece was telling me about the locals things they were crazy being all excited about mangoes dripping off trees everywhere when they first moved to Townsville. Free Mangoes, fresh from the tree. My brother keeps telling me Townsville is paradise, and other than crocodiles walking the streets from time to time he's right.
Firemen and rescuing animals...my friend Craig (with THAT BLOODY COMPUTER)was the brunt of much hilarity from his fellow firefighters after the were called out to rescue a crow stuck in/on a powerline. He donned his helmet and leather gloves and went and rescued the crow. Which tried to bite him of course.
I need my second cup of tea.
I like it too, but I can't have a cat named Mango Dan.
Can I?
I still like Magic, but it isn't perfect.
You got that right Paul, we all do belong, and we are also glad you are a part of us.
Simple summonings are best, less chance for error.
I mean, like it would be a party without you?
I can always be summoned with food!
What about Bod? You already know he fades! :)
'Morning Sally! Very funny!
I am fading like Bod now, all my early morning tea energy is gone....
Okay, somebody stop me....I'm getting crazed with the name thing- he'll tell you and I know that good and well.
However, before my son drags me away (thanks kid o' my heart)I found:
Fal
An old Celtic word that meant "whirlpool" and also "prince".
Because he is and that's how you've fallen for him- sucked right into his presence.
I'll try it Beez. Perhaps not tonight, he is in a MOOD. I'll tell you about it in te Leopard Report later...
(You can rhyme that with Colbert Report you know...)
1). I always wanted to name a cat Kierkegaard. I don't know why. I think it's a lovely name, although I know nothing of his philosophy.
2). This book - is it the "unauthorized" biography that Himself (and you, obviously) contributed to? I remember writing Himself when he mentioned it in his blog and asking about that, and he said something about he helped, but didn't do much.
3). Just finished reading Adventures in the Dream Trade, which includes the American Gods blog. The Boss talked about your first CD, Quiche - where might one find a copy of that? How many CDs do you have out? Inquiring minds want to know.
4). I feel very whingy today, and am glad you are all out there to make me feel better. Whimper whimper kick the dirt whine.
Siri
Hi Siri,
1) Nice name, but not for this Dude. Let's keep trying.
2) It is un-authorized, but done with his knowlage, and he did help with it, as did I. The bulk of the work was Steve, Hank and Christopher, all of whom I admire greatly. I think Boss felt if it was THE official Bio, he would have to do much more with it, and he did not have the time at that point.
3) The first Flash Girls cd is out of print (EVERYONES first cd ought to be, hee-hee) but you can download it from a couple places, including Amazon, I think.
We had meant to make a little tape to sell, and after the first day said what the heck, and went for an entire cd. We had NO idea what we were doing, and only got smart by getting Adma Stemple in on th emix.
Still, won a MN music award, go figure.
I have two more cd's with the Flash Girls, two with Folk Underground (Paul and I with a drummer) and one with Malena out.
Got lots, if anyone wants any. Fod knows what they cost, Fiends get a Fiend and Family deal, trust me.
Like make a donation to the Great Lakes Bengal Rescue in any amount, and tell me which ones you want. Sound good?
4) Whine away! That's what we are here for. And Siri, don't know where you are in Iowa, but check out www.lojorusso.com she plays around there lots and you would like her. She is our friend.
Fods, this could have been a POST, and I have another one up already...
Are any of your CD's available over her do you know Lorraine? I'd love to get them, but I suspect it would be QUITE A TASK without your help.
oh spaced, thanks for the link, entered for poster. i still need to t=get the sandman poster from comicon framed.
added Phiala my rss reader. neat blog. i've taught myself how to knit, but not how to finish anything. i can't seem to get the hang of getting it off the needles. scarves aren't very useful with sharp pointy objects at the ends.
and the comments are hilarious, i read them all day long, thanks to the mail feature. today was just dreadful as they laid off several people at work and all the fruit sex and names made me smile. thanks.
Hi Vampi, am very glad we got to make you laugh! Tis is a good thing, for all of us!
Vampi: Not that this is the place, but we talk about everything else, so why not? Here's how to get the pointy needles off your scarf, without having your scarf disintegrate.
Finish a row.
Knit two stitches.
Take the back one (first one you knitted), and pull it over the stitch you just knitted and off the needle.
You have one stitch on that needle.
Knit another stitch from the scarf.
Pull the back stitch over the new stitch, and off the needle.
You end up with one little stitch on the needle, supporting the entire scarf.
Break off your yarn, and pull the end of the yarn through that stitch. Tighten it up, and you're done!
Q, I have all the Flash Girls (and like the first one the best, so :P~~~) but would love to get the others. I will make a donation to Bengal Rescue and email you about it.
