LaMie Pals and Corsets

I'm sure by now you have all exchanged email addresses, birthdays and what not. Thanks to Mistress Mousey, Thingie Gift Exchange "Coordinator", we have a few ideas to get you started. You can look at the article here: www.lorraineamalena.com/lamies.html
(the link button is having issues.)

Lorraine and I send each other little things all the time. This week, I sent her some skull leggings, only to find out she bought me the same pair but in black. I love getting your cards and gifts everyone. Thank you so much. Hey, WE LOVE YOU TOO! really really....

We've been thinking of ways to show off our merch and give our fans a few surprises at the same time. So, every month (or so) we will be sending out a LaMie gift package to one of you. This month's winner is..........
Rebecca Wise

These are just little things to show how much we love our group of friends. These gift packages could include Swag from Hollywood parties, fashion shows, LaM merch, stuff from Malena's closet, stuff from Lorraine's gigs, etc. etc.

I'm having a blast btw. I found so much cool skull stuff the other day. I could have bought it all. I hear Fablo may be coming out here in the next month or so..YEAH! Maybe we could plan a webcam party! Until then, I will be sliding in and out of these corsets till they're all photographed. There ARE worse jobs, I agree. Kitty is a great photographer.
I Miss you all!!
Malena

Oh..and Lenny, you're autographed photo is on the way! Let us know when you get it.

Kitty is a great photographer, and someone is a great model! And that is a great outfit. Such intersection of greatness! Try not to explode.

I'm _really_ liking the b&w photos. I keep admiring the previous one you posted every time I see it. The only thing that could make this one better, and that is only marginally, would be a live raven; however, I understand the difficulties in procuring, working, and paying for said raven. :)

(It really is just a minor thing.)

And here the wannabe photographer in me thinks: "Wow! What a gorgeous photo! Malena looks beauteous. The raven is cool. Good choice going B/W." And then I ruin it (for me) by trying to figure out the lighting set up. Seriously, I can't look at the image as a whole anymore - I'm just staring at it trying to imagine the damned lights. Can't wait to get back to some photo classes so I don't have to think like this.

Yay for LaMie gifting! The little gift packages sound like they're really fun to put together. Hope everyone participating in the exchange is having as much fun with their LaMie pals!

Beautiful shots Kitty, Malena, you look drop dead gorgeous, what a dress!! Apple? Latin? How cool, and it sounds hard yet interesting, specially if your teacher is good. Have a great semester, mine starts Monday, I am teaching ceramics for the first time along with sculpture, and I decided to fire up the gas kiln today to test it and it promptly belched yellow flames everywhere and scared me half out of my wits, and I have few wits to spare. I think I need some luck too! Try to stay in touch Apple, you've been missed.

O Malena, I still don't have Kim Dilsaver's e-mail! Mine is kirsten[dot]donaldson[at]gmx[dot]net, or words to that effect!

That dress is beautiful but looks ever so slightly painful...

Vampire goes "corprate"! What a cool dress!

i am back from a week of snorkeling on St. Lucia, which is one of the most lovely places i've ever seen.

The high point of the week was feeding the bats the night before we came home. Really. The restaurant where we ate dinner was on the water, and the bats came out to fish after dark. i threw pieces of french fries into the water to lure the fish to the surface, but the bats went for the fries instead! The waitress said they know that people throw food out there and they come to get it.

The bats were as large as pigeons, skimming over the surface of the bay, swooping in and out of the darkness. They were way too fast for me to photograph though **sniff**.

It's good to be back, i've missed you guys!

Bat Feeding..without your Malena! Ahhhh! The pain! I fed bats at Lorraine's house last year. So cool. I always wanted one as a pet, but that wouldn't really work, obviously.
Glad you're back and I'll see you in LA very soon spider girl!

oooh-la-la!
i was there and it is still stunning everytime i see miss Medium Cool. working on a real raven someday, he has to find me for it to work...spirits, listening?

writing from Atlanta, a huge thunderstorm is brewing outside my hotel 7th floor window, and i am thrilled to be off, we just did 7 inna row, which is the equivalent of a 94-100 hour work week, i am bruised, blistered & battered, but happy now that i know the worst is over (we won't do any more 7 day runs, 4 will be the most)
Zombie is a very sweet vegetarian fellow, and his show is amazing, tour called "american witch", needless to say i feel right @ home. have toured before with godsmack, and they are wonderful as well, it is very much like the first day of school, meeting everyone & reuniting with old friends...
anyway, i send all my L'aMmies love, Lolo, we ARE coming to MINN, but not til next leg. love you!

Kitty in Atlanta? Are you going to DragonCon? I couldn't make it this year. :-(

The bats fly around the golf course behind my house. They are very nice.
I once saved one at the CIA in Langley, VA, when I worked there installing a sculpture entitled Kryptos.

I think the bats hunt around the tree over my apartment... but it has always been too dark to tell.

When I was little... one night while going to bed I remember looking out the door of my room which was wide open to the 2nd floor hallway (and at that time I was the only one sleeping on the 2nd floor) and seeing something large and flappy flying past... I managed to convince myself it was the big moth I had seen...until the next day when I saw something fly past the door while I was playing... and that's when I explored and found the bat... and trapped it in my grandmother's old room until we could set it free. Scared me silly to finally recognize it for what it was... and realize it had been flying around up there all day and all night.

Hah!
Funny that!!
I just told Nora that you, Malena, should do a shoot dressed as the GSL! Nora said, "did you read Malena's comment on the blog?" I said, "No". She said "Read it".
OMG!! That is too funny!! Can't wait to see the GSL photos.
Oh, and I also suggested a Lisa sculpture would be cool! ;-)

good morning all-
me & a bunch of the crew went out to a heavy metal karoake night, where you sing in front of a live band, i WISH Lolo & Malena were there, they would have knkocked the roof off the joint. Atlanta is a great city, but i am not going to make it to Dragoncon, cause me gotta work--but i am nailing down a bit part in the remake of Halloween that Zombie is directing, Mal, you in w/ me?!?!?!

Thanks for the e-mail, Malena!

I love bats. There's a park in Edinburgh where you can often see them flapping about over the pond of an evening... especially at the annual fireworks concert (which is very cool. The fireworks don't seem to bother the bats).

But I am giggling quite hard at the idea of Rubius mistaking a bat for a large moth!

We were up in the attic yesterday evening and my husband discovered that we have a lodger: a very large spider. He is not keen on spiders, but nobly didn't squash it. Every so often I would hear a voice coming down through the hatch: "Ah, here comes our eight-legged friend again..."

I hadn't ever seen a bat except for in a zoo until a few years ago in the Outer Banks. We were doing an Old West event and I was amazed at all the different-colored dragonflies everwhere. Then they went away and I was bummed. My friend said 'Watch' and threw a piece of mulch in the air above my head and swoop! It was incredible! (Of course explaining while the dragonflies had retired for the evening.)

The pictures are amazing, Kitty! You have such talent! And what adventures you're having, too!
And Malena you look fantastic as always. I love seeing what you come up with every time.

Lorraine: Speaking of touring, when is one of your bands going to tour? I think LaM should tour.

Of course, no one comes to the gulf coast of Florida. We're lucky to get Wayne Newton's back up band. hehe.

You can make jelly out of rowan berries? I didn't know they were edible... actually, surprised you have a rowan tree - they keep the fairies away, don't you know? ;)

Jelly making! I want to hear all about it.
