Storms, Laundry and Too Tired toThink....

I think Weather Girl is going to be happy this week. I have been watching the Weather Channel, (hey, I am REALLY tired tonight, anything deeper is beyond me) and it seems we are going to have storms every day for a week, with the word "Severe" popping up a lot for tomorrow.

Excellent, we really need the rain. It's so hot here, I am wearing my skirt as a dress. A Fashion Moment that is best not remembered in pictures.

I think the strangest thing that happened today, besides the Pack of 100 tee-shirts manifesting themselves in the kitchen was that earlier today, remember when Phiala was grumbling that she couldn't get the dog to vacuum?

(what the heck kind of sentence WAS that??)

Well, when I got home tonight, I found that Venus had decided to help with the laundry. As in she had BROUGHT UP from the basement 4 hand towels and a pair of PJ pants. No mean feat that, the laundry is DOWN there because I can't motivate myself to bring it all up and it is easier just to KEEP it there and get things as I need them.

She hadn't folded it, or put it away, but I have hopes. And yes, I do know it was Venus, Mim is sweet and lovely and adventuresome but hasn't the brains Fod gave a goat. But she is young yet. Venus is the one who comes up with this stuff.

(I might be miss-saying Mim tho, remember she did get out the window WITH a toy..)

I read Diablo Cody's book this week, wonderful. Talk about a way to seriously change your life! Spending a year as a stripper may not work for everyone, but it seems to have worked out just fine for her. The more I see of her work, and read her in interviews, the more I like this women. She can write, and has a great sense of humour.

I'll leave you with a picture of Miss Kitty, on one of our shopping trips. Remember, we are sending her LOTS of love for the next 5 weeks or so.

Love and Laundry,
Lorraine

You know it's too hot when you have to pull the "wear the long skirt as a dress" trick. I'm darn close to doing it myself 'cause it's boiling here.

How sweet of Freaky Venus to try to help you with the laundry. Maybe you could utilize Mim by using the cat wheel to run the washer? lol

More thoughts of calm, peace, and noise blocking headphones for our dear Miss Kitty. May her nerve endings remain intact on the long hard road.

Oh yes, kind of a strapless Mumu, with nothing else, but it works.

My neighbour Michela assured me nothing was see thru, and said since she was wearing a terry cloth jump suit, we would call it her towel.

That's not a bad idea, you know, utilizing Bengal energy....Might well solve this fuel problem...

HEY!!!!! My picture changed since I posted on the last post a couple hours ago!!

How could that have possibly have happened??? Malena is the only one who can get into my account, and I can't imagine why she would change my photo????

How can this happen? It sort of looks like the one I used to use on Last fm, but it's not the same.

What goes on?????

Danguy, is this part of you evil plan?? I was posting as someone different, now I look likes someone different.....

The key to wearing your skirt as a dress, or a top depending on the length of said skirt, is a good strapless bra. I have been known to wear my skirt as a top (blouse isn't really the right word) in public, but I did wear jeans with it. It's also been many, many years since I've done it.

I'm in the middle of "The Good Fairies of New York," as well as a hardback on labyrinths with lots of photographs and diagrams.

Hope you get the rain you need. We got a little bit today, but not enough for the trees not to look stressed.

Very Weird.

I seem to have a second identity on blogger, a Fabulous Lorraine, which comes up as Lorraine Garland, that I never knew about. No info no profile, just this thing...And a pic of me.

I am going to try and post as me again, and change my password, it's kind of ooky to think someone is messing with me...But what IS this????

At 8:50 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Oh good, I am me again. Still very freaky.

Adriandalen, all good advice, but this was a look inspired by the heat and the fact that I didn't want to wear ANYTHING.

I am not going to LA babydoll here.

(and sad that this fashion has made it to you, I shudder when it hits here. We still have guys wearing the too big pants with underwear showing look)

Good Fairies is wonderful, and I still insist that that first page is most likely THE best start to a novel ever written.

And it gets better from there. I think the thing I like best about Martin's stories, is they are so real, and you know it could happen, and you know that you would want to hang with these people.

Guy can write.

Ok, changed my password, now I am going to try and figure out how to delete this OTHER account....

Still kind of weirded out..Anyone have any ideas????

I just looked up at the top and it lists THREE Fabulous Lorraines as contributors! Weird.

Now if only you could put these alternates to work, THAT would indeed rock.;)

At 9:46 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

This is really strange, and I have no idea who is doing this.

Maybee I should set up my own page, fabulouslorraine.com, and move us there, since Malena doesn't have time to post here and we aren't really doing music right now, we could still have the band page for us, but the blog could move.

And I would be me and not three of me.

I changed the password on the only identity I know about, but feel REALLY not ok, identy theft is not good.

Anyone want to be my web elf? I have no idea about setting up a webpage? The hours are long and the pay is nil, but the perks are great...

That was some serious shopping...

More love and cooling thougths sent in kitty' s way (hard to aim though as she is a moving target).

Three of you? How's that a problem? I thought it was Dr Paul producing clones for you, to help with your work.

You've had three different account attached to this blog for ages, Quiche, not even counting the LaM identity.

If you want to make me an admin for your blog, I can get rid of the other two and fix it for you. Or you can do it yourself by going to blogger.com, click on Settings, click on Permissions, click "remove" next to the two "Fabulous Lorraine" accounts and leave just the "FabulousLorraine" one. (And if you wanted to make me an admin so I could fix stuff like this for you in the future, add me from that same page.)

And you KNOW I'm always game for more web-elfing (gobbling?)! I have plans for you, web-wise.

Hm, that is creepy! And not the good kind of creepy. Don't know enough to help with a web page but I think moving the blog sounds like a good idea. It's awful to feel messed with like that! Hope the rest of your day is peaceful. And that we all get some rain! My sunflowers are hurtin'.

My son and I had great fun with cupcakes and pickles. Thanks again for all the birthday wishes. Very nice!

At 6:22 AM , Blogger gaypet said...

Well I read Dan's comment just after I posted. Good to hear. The web plans sound good to though!

At 7:19 AM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Spacelaw, you make me laugh, you are right, I can see in the light of day aving three clones is no bad plan.

Dan, yes, let's talk, I love the idea of Fabulouslorraine.com the world is ready!!!!!!! My bands can all have their own sites, and I can be ME on mine.

But ye gads! How did I get three accounts in the first place???

At 7:34 AM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Are we going to swarm?

At 7:51 AM , Blogger Dread Val said...

Venus does laundry? Dude!

Kitty looks awesome, lounging outside the store.

Dan Guy & Quiche -- I'm happy to help with any design you want for the new site/blog. I will happily leave the code to you, though… there is a reason that Fod made a divide between programmers and artists.

I should send you some of my sarongs I got in New Zealand, where it was often 98° with 99% humidity (Gotta love the Waikato). You would see women, and children in sarongs and not much else, walking down the high street.

No, don't swarm, but please send one of your clones over to me. I'm someone who regularly cannot find their glasses or coffee cup, so trying to organize my own move is… interesting.

I really don't think you have to worry about identity theft. Those extra accounts are definitely why you have been posting differently. When Google took over for blogger a while ago I had to change things in my account to continue posting however it would have been easy to accidentally connect blogger to a gmail account (which I know you have) and create a new account at that time without realizing it... blogger switches identity based on which account it recognizes... so if you are logged into your gmail account then you change websites you will automatically post as one of the other Fablos... if you are logged in to the old blogger account you would post as a different Fablo. I know that one called LaM appeared right after you did the music vid so maybe you were posting at an unfamiliar computer and somehow a new account appeared (the one that had the avatar showing you and Malena)... either way Dan's suggestion will work.

I suspect that yes, we will swarm and follow our queen Fablo to a new hive... however I think I am going to have separation anxiety about losing lorraineamalena.blogspot.com... I am already a little sad to see the acknowledgement of less Malena here (of course she is SUPER busy and we all know that)... sigh. Change happens.

Not only does the dog not vacuum, I think he's the inverse vacuum, leaving hair wherever he goes.

My cat doesn't do laundry either. Worse, he has this odd fascination for lying in wet laundry, leaving behind stuck-on damp black fluff.

Sarongs are great for that unbearably hot and humid weather.

At 9:14 AM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Don't worry, Rubius, it will be the same blog, just at a different place, and Malena and I have no intention of not hanging out at the two places, just like we have been doing, and she is welcome to jump in and guest blog any time she likes. DUH!!

And the Lorraine a Malena site isn't going anywhere, under blog tho, you will be able to click either Lorraine or Malena, that will be the only change.

And it will take some time to set up, thanks, Val, I'll take all the help I can get...
Thanks for the identity thing, it was just WEIRD, findng out like that.

At 10:50 AM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Clearly I need a sarong...

Your cat lies in wet laundry????? Ok, that's weird...

SO humid here, and all the storms are missing us. Hmmph.

At 11:01 AM , Blogger EmilyLady said...

All these cat stories would make for a wonderful picture book. Seriously. Think about that.

Oh, and of course include the bee leash in the story ....

At 11:17 AM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

If I had photo skills I certainly would do a Bengal Book. Actually, what we need is for Kitty to come and shoot my cats....

At 11:21 AM , Blogger spacedlaw said...

Eeeks! Poor kitties...

At 11:25 AM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Hey, you had fun shooting them when you were here...

At 11:40 AM , Blogger spacedlaw said...

I did too. And Miss malena Mim was a most gracious subject.
It's just the use of the word "shoot" which worries me a little...

At 11:47 AM , Blogger Dread Val said...

Hey, speaking of photos, do you have the ones of us from the show? And if you do, can you send them my way? Those turned out great (I shall have to remember to flip my hair like that for every photo)!

At 11:55 AM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Shoot does sound funny, doesn't it? Hope Venus has more laundry done by the time I get home...

I have a few from Kitty Val, that I could send your way, Malena probably has more.

At 1:15 PM , Blogger Dread Val said...

That would be kewl, dude!

Tour love to Kitty! It's so odd to see her here in your blog, as I remember her from 9th Life here in B-more (and I bought lots of cool stuff from her, too!).

And I remember my boy's exhausted on the road calls home. And then there was the time he got back from a 2 week tour in Germany and I promptly stuck him in the car for a 10 hour drive to Vermont.

At 3:53 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

That's so cool you got to see Kitty's shop, 9th life! She talks about it often.

I bet your boy liked the 10 hours in the car WAY better than the tour bus....Being on the road is a whole lot of Not Fun.

Except the time on stage. That's worth it.

At 4:54 PM , Blogger Amy said...

Heh, he wishes he'd been on a bus. In Germany they had a Mercedes station wagon that tour (he drove the whole time, as it was stick shift and only he knew how to use it). In the states he was the passenger, and had a tiny little nest in the back of a mini-van, completely surrounded by gear and merch. Luckily he can sleep through anything, and the stage time was worth it.

I still have a t-shirt I bought from Kitty, a red baby doll with large photo realistic flies silkscreened all over it.

At 5:16 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

My touring has all been the Minivan type. I remember loving the stage time and not doing very well with the rest of it, despite being with really cool people.

Mostly I just wanted to be home.

All the storms missed us today. Darn. Apparently, there is always tomorrow tho. Literally, weather-wise.
