Happy, Happy 4th!

I was going to just comment, but then I thought I might actually have a lot to say, so here is a late night post for you.....

(Side note, as I type Mim is SHREDDING a Wonder Women comic, and I mean DESTROYING the thing, no idea where she got it or why...)

Wonderfully fun gig tonight with Johnny. I got way excited about fireworks, and distracted the rest of the time, but I think the music was good. There were many people in Stillwater, a lot of them came by boat, it being on the river and all. (note to self, do not refer to them as "Boat People" from the stage)

Thanks to Aleta who brought her brother, his wife, Laserlady, Laserlady's sister, and her Mom and her Dad (I think) and Laser Ladies Man and the nice girl I can only remember as Flash Girls Fan. Also to Gayle who brought her WAY to cute son, loved the wee Sex Pistols shirt!!!! And Gayle, Malena is SO after your shoes! Personally, I want the knee socks. You have been warned!

We tried to call Kitty and do Little Ghost for her, but alas, she was out doing sushi with Red and missed it. She did however send me the original version, and promise me a NIN mix.

I couldn't bring Cabal to the pub, as he is too big. I brought Malena's puppy, Tink a few times when I had her, but she was just a little thing. May bring Cabal to the Brookside next week, as it is outdoors. Tomorrow is Take Your Dog To Renn Faire Day and I am pretty sure that will be an adventure....

I wrote up a Thing on my Fosters, Sabrina and Ginger, formerly Jungle Loves 1 & 2, complete with pictures, let me know if you are in the Minneapolis area, and want to forward it to people. I need a home for these Kitties!!!!

Mim has abandoned the comic and she and Venus are tag teaming with, uh, yes, that time of the month. It's pretty funny, Bengals are flying everywhere....

Love and Fireworks,
Lorraine

Sounds like you had fireworks inside the house as well as outside! Glad you had a fun evening, and tho working got to see fireworks. The girls, a few of their friends and I went to see Muskegon Lakes' display which was fun- at the end, rockets started blasting directly out of the water which was unexpected and pretty cool. And boy am i out of the loop with NIN - don't know that i have ever heard any of their music. Hope everyone else had a fun fourth - Grace, how is your sister's situation?

Yes, fire update!

Stillwater had some civil war cannons, that they shot out over the water, but I am un-impressed.

They didn't manage to hit a single boat.

It did get fun tho, across the river, high on a bluff, was a house that ALSO had a cannon (funny old town, apparently they are standard issue, ready for anything) but they started firing BACK.

Also missing the boats.

Those people can't shoot. they are freely given fire arms and they can't shoot!

Sounds like you had a great time!
Have fun with Dog at the Renn Fest.

Micah is really sensitive to sound so we left kinda early and without a chance to say goodbye. We had fun though! What an interesting place Stillwater is.

I have quite a collection of knee socks. I get them at this great little store in Northfield. I feel very "Wicked" in interesting socks and black heals ;).

Hey Gayle it was great to meet you!

The Flash Girls Fan is Rachel, btw.

We all had a good time. Great job remembering who everyone was!

It was a rather crazy night in old Stillwater. Lorraine, I was still sitting in my car waiting to get out of the parking lot when I saw you move by slowly in the line of cars.

Hope you are having fun with Dog and the Renfolk.

Cool! I just found out I could embed a Flash Girl track from last.fm on my blogs! (just one instead of a whole playlist)...

We had fun at home with a few small fireworks as we are under a burn ban. Unfortunately, our neighbors from across the street decided to use aerial fireworks starting at 11-11:30 PM and not stopping until around 1:00 AM. ::sigh:: Our kids were asleep, and fortunately didn't wake up from the noise. They still had their kids up. The bad thing is, they may not even realize that we're under a burn ban. They did, at least, move on down the driveway to their house after DH turned on the front porch light and closed the garage door.

You turned down Smashing Pumpkins for the Jonas Brothers??? Me sees $$$.....

Take you Dog to Renn Faire was a whole lot of fun. He had a great time. I bought him a pirate bandana, no pics, sadly, no camera, and made sure he drank lots of water.

As did we. LOTS of water. It was great fun to be there as a person, I've never done that before, and I got to see lots of old friends, and watch Rebecca dance, which is never dull.

Tomorrow I have an 8:00am call , for an outdoor church gig, playing songs I have never heard, with people I have never met.

Hhhmmmm....A case of Take the Gig and the money and ask questions later. One only runs into snags when "later" finally appears.

Got to see cool fireworks over the Tennessee River from the pedestrian bridge here in the 'noog (only time in my life I've been eye level with fireworks, as they were being launched from a riverside park), as well as later seeing some from the back porch and wondering where they were being launched from as they were rather high and angled and realized they were being launched either from or really near Rock City. Cool! My dognesses hate the sound though, the sweeties, and have spent most of the last two days in super-freak-out mode, poor things.

My sister's situation is unfortunately becoming less and less unique in SB, as they have now evacuated over 2700 homes in the area and the fire is growing because of the winds. Still no reports of structural damage but of course she's not allowed back to her home yet. Sigh. Thank you all for your concern!!

Sounds like everyone had a good holiday. :) I spent my Fourth working on assignments. I love that there was return cannon fire -- that's something I would do if I had a cannon.

Living minutes away from Disneyland, the Dog is rather inured to fireworks -- they happen every night of the year at 9:40, whether we want them, or not. It's amazing that all of Southern California is not on fire after the Fourth, though.

Glad to hear that the expedition to the faire went well. Every time I leave for a bit and come back, it feels like coming home. Well, coming back to a dysfunctional foster home, I suppose, but home all the same.

Just walked in the door from the studio a couple of minutes ago. Managed to finish the painting I was working on last Saturday. Good painting day, but it took a lot out of me. Bed now.

This is way too early for a gig to ne happening. Glad I am so sleepy tho, noq I don't need to think about the fact that I don't know the music or the people.

Need chai. Badly.

I'm not in Minneapolis, but I have several cat-loving friends there who I'm sure would be happy to pass around your kitty info. :)

I'm so impressed with your fostering efforts!

As expected, the 4th was the perfect time to test the orbital lasers and ground-bases canon arrays. You have to fire them every once in a while to prevent build-up.

Once day I will buy the grounds of the Virginia RenFaire, install the moonkrusher in the top-most tower, raise the drawbridge, and then the world will be at my mercy!!
