Dear Malena....

Dear Malena,

Good Morning! Here it is the day of your Event, and I am so excited for you! This is going to go so well, and remember, what we say in the music business "No one will show up and 1000's of people will hate us" hee-hee...You will rock! Don't doubt it.

Well, the reason I am writing your morning e-mail on the blog instead of to your e-mail is just that I have something to tell you, and since most of the blog is in on it, I thought I might as well go public.

You remember last week when you told me something was up, and for some reason you didn't really feel like I had a gig this weekend? (No one will EVER know how hard it is to keep a secret from a psychic best friend!!!!!!!) Well you were right!

There was no gig! There is no Tom's on Main! I had no show last night, instead I few to LA! Thank Pantagruel for picking me up at the airport since Kitty had to work. Thank Kitty for taking me into the treehouse. Thank Gaypet, Aleta, Danguy, Paul, Spacelaw and others I can't recall in my tea deprived sleepless state for keeping up the charade of the gig. Thank Boss for playing along yesterday on the phone, and for giving me the time off even tho it turned out he wasn't going out of town.

I wouldn't miss this for the world, my dear!!!!!!!!

Kitty and I are waiting for your call, so we can come and help, see you soon, and ...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!

Love, Lorraine

PS The cookies were real. I brought them.

So a good time was had by all! I'm glad. Sorry to hear there was no gig, but I'm glad to know things worked out okay.

(So Pantagruel finally met you then? I guess I'm the only one left!)

Believe me, Emilylady, you aren't the only one yet to meet the fantastic duo.

Man, did I ever have fun!

First, I got to pick up Lorraine last night from LAX, as part of the plot.

As far as my driving, in case this comes up -- okay, all us Mini drivers are NOT insane. I blame the Boss for giving us a bad name. Don't listen to her. It was not my fault that there was a semi who didn't want to share the lane and made me pass him; and likewise, I saw nothing wrong with my U-turn. Hrmpf. ;)

Tonight's event was lots of fun! Maddy's Bat Cookies went so well with wine that I ate three of them and called it dinner (I did not get to take any home for Jameson testing). I met Malena at last! And saw Kitty for longer than 10 seconds! And boggled at Lorraine's selection of swimsuits. (Silver lamé, for the curious.) I mildly corrupted David Betantes, who taught me how to throw my hair when posing. And, you all will be surprised to learn I was a complete dork and inflicted my painting I'd been working on, on everyone. Things as usual, I suppose. And now I am home, tired, but happy.

You all should totally order Things from Malena's collection! I have now seen them all up close, and they're beautiful. :) The jewelry is incredible; the body lotions, candles, and perfumes smell lovely, and the corsets are quite spiff. Seriously. I know how I'm going to spend quite a bit of my next paycheck.

Lorraine, Kitty, and Malena -- I had a great time hanging out with you all tonight. Thank you! :)

In the cold light of day, Bat Cookies and wine by themselves do not make a dinner. Oof.

It was a wonderful day yesterday. I love waking up and surprising my best friend, and then spending the day with her.

The event went beautifuly, choclate, Malena, lots of goodies. It was lovely to meet you Val and get to hang a bit, sorry I was a , hmm..ZOMBIE by that point!

(It was also really long and hard on no sleep and I picked the WRONG shoes, buy we shall glass over those little irriations)

My thanks to everyone who wrote and helped and picked me up from the airport, and made this a truly wonderful Birthday for our Malena.

The Malena Collection IS going up online, and now that I have basicly been playing with it for 24 hours, (and some months) I would like to offer my services in the "Hmmm..What SHOULD I buy" area?? "

Consultations now available on a first come first serve basis. Cost: Coffee, when and if I next see you.

(Because, I am pretty sure it is my new vice and I will need it !)

SIGNED KITTY

At 11:21 AM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

I think it is inconsiderate of Miss KItty to leave herself signed in on her computer. SO now every time I go in, I have to change it over to ME.

How is a girl meant to work, I ask you.

Waiting for our Vampire to wake....

I am wearing a purple sequined tank top. Perfect for an afternoon at the flea mrket, followed by evening Karaoke .

Gods I love this town.

At 12:36 PM , Blogger Dread Val said...

Are you actually going to sing at karaoke?!

I dunno, I rather dug the barefoot look you had going on last night, Lorraine; I'm usually barefoot myself. And coffee as a new vice… mwahaha!

Glad to hear everything has gone well!

At 7:58 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Of course I am not going to sing! The very idea!

Saw WANTED which I loved, and Malena thought kicked , but the rest of our group remained unimpressed...(one said it was too loud to sleep thru, but he liked the bit where it ended)

Hello? Anelina in leather, with guns and action... 'nuff said. SO it's a comic book? Like I have a problem..

At 8:25 PM , Blogger ariandalen said...

I want to see "WANTED." I want to see James MacAvoy (sp?) in an action role. Angelina in leather with guns is just icing on the cake. Glad you liked it. :)

Granted, I have yet to see "Iron Man." I did get to see "Kung Fu Panda." Fun!

And just let me say "YEA!" for getting to see a movie with good friends you don't usually get to see movies with!

At 8:29 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

You got it! I have no idea when last I just went out to a movie!

This weekend is GREAT!!!!

At 8:35 PM , Blogger AletaMay said...

It is so good to hear you describing doing things that are purely recreational Lorraine! Hurray for movies with friends! Movies in theaters! Such a good thing.

At 4:54 AM , Blogger Dan Guy said...

Glad you liked Wanted! I'll most likely wait to see it on DVD. I really liked that director's Nightwatch and Daywatch, though they are a bit hard to follow if you haven't at least reviewed the Wikipedia synopses of the books.

This weekend I took Xander, Molly, and Max to Wall*E, which they enjoyed. Not quite loved, I think, but it was fun. The story was a little thin -- more of a parable, really, but I'm fine with that. We also watched Spiderwick on DVD (also fun, only a little scary). After putting the kids to bed, Lori and I watched Charlie Bartlett (very good, but not the fabulousness I was hoping for) and Definitely, Maybe (cute, surpassed low expectations).

In non-movie news, we have had tadpoles for a week and have managed not to kill any of them. We cleaned their habitat on Saturday and discovered that all but one have tiny little legs.

It was a nice, relaxing weekend.

At 8:24 AM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

That's kind of like Underworls, Dan, you can't really get it unless you have done your research , but it's still the best movie ever.

Very fun on the tadpoles. What will you be doing for the one with no legs?????

Oh, Gods, I am sory, coffee is not done yet and I just thought of this...

"What do you call a tadpole with no arms and no legs?"

"A TAD short!"

Darn good thign this is MY blog!

At 8:39 AM , Blogger Dan Guy said...

Oooooooh... That's BAD. ^_^

If it doesn't grown little arms and legs I suppose we'll have to craft a set of tiny wheels for it.

At 8:40 AM , Blogger Dread Val said...

I shall have to give Underworld another go, apparently, and put Wanted in the Netflix queue.

Dan Guy, so are tadpoles newts? I can't get the image of Gussie Finknottle and his newt collection out of my head, now.

Coffee. Wonderful stuff. Without it, I might collapse and never get anything done. I highly recommend it. How do you like your coffee? And, the next time you come out to LA, it would be cool if you wanted to hang out and have some with me. Just sayin'. :)

At 8:43 AM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Thanks Val, I think I like it with Cream and Honey.

Tadpoles are little baby frogs. Not newts at all. Unless Mr Score starts tinkering with them. I can't wait to see Danguys tadpole cart....

At 9:28 AM , Blogger AletaMay said...

Wasn't it Danguy who gave us the bee on a leash? Now we have a tadpole on wheels? I think this is the start of a business here.

Dan Guy is young and not yet grown to his full power. Who can say what will happen...
