Not Much of a Brain Today....

Danguy has now left, back to his home. He woke me WAY too early, (at my request) to say good by. A fine time was had by all. If you are thinking of having Danguy as a Houseguest, he comes highly recommended. Nice manners to. (sorry about making you carry everything everywhere!)

And he did a most excellent job of Live Blogging the show. The owner of Charlie's wants him to come back and do live Video of the ST Pats show! (Yes, we are already booked!)

Come back anytime, Danguy!

The shows were wonderful!!! It made me so happy so many people came down, and I loved making so many new friends! I think the Saturday show many have been my best show ever, or one of them anyway. Dylan Hatch was amazing! He sat in with us the whole time, and it was full on ROCK the entire time. You can count on hearing more about him, he is way fun to play with!

Uh, as it were....

Today was a lovely day in Zombie World. Some Evil Crow came thru and ATE all the corn seeds I planted, so I planted some more, and placed some land mines around to discourage him from coming back.

And the even Eviler Rabbits came and ate my peas, so I planted a ring of Marigolds around the entire garden. Teach them!!!!!

The Birdchick insists she is not responsible for either the birds or the rabbits. I countered with "Oh, you think not" in an ominous voice....Some Park Ranger she is.

We did some bee things, and I am sure the Birdchick will give you the full update over at her Blog. One thing that was cool, was that we found Queen cells in the Queenless Olga hive. Two of them. They will hatch, and then fight to the death for the chance to rule supreme in the hive. And we will take their honey. Not sure what the lesson is here, but I am sure there is one.

I found a 4-leaf clover by Kitty's hive today (hey, everyone has one really cool bit of useless magic, that's mine. I can look down and there WILL be one) I had to carry it thru the bee-ing, and then, all the way to the other hives, and all the way home and the Birdchick smashed it with the spacer, but it made it tho somewhat battered. (the drama for today.) I have pressed it nicely for Miss Kitty and will send it on out to her.

It will bring her and Malena luck in their show next weekend, and then a part of me will be there! (I am also making Bat Cookies for the show,, any ideas on how to ship them???)

Love and Zombies,
Lorraine

Wow, maybe Dan Guy isn't as scary as he seems in the comments.

Your nature adventures are so fascinating. You know, I don't even glance twice at four-leaf clovers ... while my thirteen-year-old brother has an entire collection of them.

Danguy is the most non-scary guy ever. Trust me. He looks about 20 years younger than he most likely is and is happily married with four great kids.

Weird magic. You will find yours.

I am very glad everything went well the past couple of days. :) Not that I was expecting anything different.

And, joy of joys, I get to pick up my new glasses tomorrow. Hopefully the prescription is correct since a friend of mine got her glasses from the same chain and they were VERY wrong. ::sigh:: Oh, well, live and learn. I also get to check on getting at least a new right contact lens, though not from the same place as my glasses. This will be the first time that my glasses cost more than my contacts. I never knew that bifocals were so expensive, even with 1/2 off frames and 1/2 off lenses. ::heavy sigh:: At least I haven't caught Fifth disease from my daughter or husband.

Dan is fabulous, his family beautiful, not scary, a Very Neat Person, who I feel privileged to have met and hung out with a bit. I am glad the weekend gigs turned out so well! Ahhh you are magic with the fiddle Lorraine, and Paul is great fun! sure wish i could've been there to join in! I actually spent an hour in Minneapolis today - it was my connecting flight to Portland Ore where I am right now - last year i applied to be considered for a juried workshop in glass casting, and lo and behold was selected! I was excited and honored - and coughed up the fees for it before my property decided to fall apart. bah. oh well, so i work the next year paying this all off, i like spaghetti 'os... And on another note, i read a neat idea for packing delicate items - use half inflated balloons to help cushion the goods, which i thought was pretty cool, and pretty festive too. Hmmm, arian, seems to me you need a four leaf clover too - hope the glasses are ok - i had a new prescription this spring too and bifocals are outrageously priced, so hope all goes well and everyone recovers swiftly from fifth disease. Take it easy!

QUichey,

and must point out, Danth Guyth is world's SCARIEST man, he is the rambling evil, the black plague, the whistle before your throat is cut....ah, just kidding.
if you put DanGuy on your cut, a flower will grow out of it. I am his biggest fan!

I had a lay-over in Cleveland and my flight got cancelled, so I ended up hanging out there all day, during which time Visa called me to ask if I'd charged several thousand dollars worth of goods from Chile and Canada, which I had not of course, so I had to close the account immediately, leaving me funds-less and in Cleveland. Wheee.

But I made it home eventually. And was feeling laid back enough about the whole mess that I decided to spare Chile and Canada from my Orbital Lasers of Doom after all. The vermin who ripped off my card are a different story; if they film it they can call it "There Will Be Blood 2: The Bloodening".

I had the most lovely time in Minneapolis, thanks largely to Ms. Quiche, but also to Jody, Birdchick, Tesla, and Kelly, another conference attendee who recognized me as the web goblin!

Quiche is awesome. We all know this. You won't believe how much cooler the live experience is, though! Or how much spookier her house is than she lets on. It's a lovely house, full of skulls, all warm and friendly -- and then the sun goes down and things start to go bump in the night and cats are flying every which way, somehow turning in mid-air and changing direction. I quickly learned the trick to luring them out of my bedroom and then shutting the door fast behind. Had I not I truly believe I might not be alive to tell the tale.

glad you made it home, and i think that must have been MY room you were staying in.
My contract says at least one cat in there at all times.

Ivenotime, have fun at the glass casting workshop!

Ariandalen, new glasses, finally. ;) Hopefully they protect you from Fifth Disease.

Dan Guy -- shame about the Visa card; feh. ;/ Hurrah for you signing up for Twitter, though. :)

So Lorraine, how did you get the nickname of Quiche?

At 8:51 AM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Ariandalen, you poor thing, STILL without vision??? I do know the saga, I ran out of contacts last week and couldn't get an appt and had to order a trial pack, it went on and on....

Uh , Kitty? "if you put DanGuy on your cut, a flower will grow out of it. " HOW do you know this???

I wanted you to take pictures too! Now we will have to make do, I guess, with Kimberly Butler, who is coming out for the next P&L show...Sigh. SO hard to get someone GOOD...(I slay myself)

Sue, it will be well worth it. You do such lovely work, you need this!

Dan Guy did get the full on Bengal Experience hee-hee. The do change directions mid leap. What a trip home tho!!!!!!!!! ACK!!!!

I am not without vision. I was able to put my contacts back on after I finished the antibiotic drops, two days before my daughters' dance recital. I ordered the glasses in case I can't wear my contacts. I need at least a new right contact as I have a dry spot on my right eye, so I need either a slightly larger or slightly smaller lens on that eye.

Nor have I contracted Fifth's, just my youngest (4) and my husband. It is normally only found in young children. Symptoms are a high(ish) fever followed by an all over rash. The rash isn't particularly itchy, at least. Of course, my husband ended up with a fever for several days before the rash showed up, as opposed to the one day of fever for our youngest.

Dan, that is so not right! At least Visa called you to confirm/deny that you made the purchases. At least you ended up getting home okay.

Danth, glad you made it home okay (and made it out of Lorraine's Bengal Zoo alive). :)

And Dan is deceptively scary. He's also very nice and sweet and non-threatening. It's precisely *why* it's so frightening when the scary comes out. Then one must simply say "eek!" and hide before the poppets come to get you.

At 12:14 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

I think you are right. He LOOKS not scary, to lull you into a sense of security, and then before you know it....

Many adventures today. And Emma is coming to see me!

It's all fun and games,
until the poppets come out of the walls;
then it's ALL OVER!

I HATE it when the poppets come out of the walls!

That is THE worst!!!!!!!!

I so want to meet everyone, now, so I can experience the legendary awesomeness firsthand. I also want to be able to comment on Kitty and Malena's blogs; but perhaps I will have to break down and make a Blogger account. Then I could have my picture, too…

This weekend in LA, it was hot. Of course, it was also Midsummer, so why this was a big surprise and source of complaining out here, I'm not sure. You wouldn't think a studio full of artists could work up a sweat, but we did. I will have more art to share, as soon as the paintings dry. Now, back to Not Writing and Not Painting…

Testing out the Blogger account thingy. Nothing to see… move along.

Yay for a visit from Emma! Do you still talk music much?

Also, I forgot to ask the most important question of all... Are you a Browncoat now? :P

Pantagruel - I know what you mean about having blogger accounts. I only use mine for this blog. (and I *finally* remembered the username & password to it!)

Evil Crows and Eviler Rabbits... certainly sounds like the realm of the Bird Chick!

We had a great time on Friday night. It was fun to met Danguy! He seemed very sweet but just in the corner of his eyes I thought I saw a glimmer of the evil genius. Yup.

Yes! I am a Browncoat now! Long Live Firefly! I don't know what I will do if they ever cancel that show, but I mean, it rules, why would they?????

Emma and I talked of everything and non-stop the entire time. Including music and doing a show...

Nice pic, Pantagruel!!

MARSHMALLOWS = BEST PACKING MATERIAL EVER = WIN

Pack cookies in marshmallows. They are edible, light, cheap and fun to pack with!!! My Oma used to send us gingerbread cookies packed in a tin with marshmallows every christmas. The marshmallows were always a little hard (read stale) but I loved them as much as the cookies. Now, even though my mom makes the cookies... and we decorate them the same... I miss the marshmallows the most.

Firefly canceled... uh... um... I don't quite know how to say this Quiche.... but :-(

At 8:34 PM , Blogger Dread Val said...

Thanks Rubius and Lorraine! That is my smirking face. I wear it when Cabal's Cabal convenes.

O Queen of Dork, I still want to hear the story of How You Got Your Other Nickname. :) I saw Dan Guy's photo of the knife, by the way... Very impressive. Did the knife site I sent help any?

About Firefly... er. Don't look now, but the studios did not agree about the show's awesomeness.

At 8:50 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

What are you guys trying to say about Firefly??? There is NO WAY that show got canceled, the network would have to be run by MORONS.....

You obviously are mis-informed....

May take your advice on the marshmellows, I am determined these cookies will reach LA safely.
