Whole Lot Going On!

Lots to talk about tonight, here in Adventureland! First off, when I came back to the Spooky House to feed and love the Bengals, there was Mim sitting out front on the walk!

Venus was screaming in the window, and Mim was crying in the yard! She had managed to poke out a screen in the sunroom window and out she went. I have no idea where she had been, but she was COVERED in spiderwebs and bits of things. The really weird bit was that she had somehow managed to bring a toy to play with. Not a wee mousie, but one of those sticks with feathers on a string. How she go that out I do not know, but there she sat, so lost and alone....

My heart is nearly beating back to normal.

The solo Beekeeping went well, I needed to add supers to three of the hives. Supers are the smaller boxes with either frames, or rounds in them, and that is the honey we get to take! Frames are where they build regular comb, but we take it all and extract the honey. Rounds are sort of plastic round things, and that honey we leave in the comb, and eat it wax and all. (Malena really likes this, not so much me)

At least we don't have the problem These people do, trying to pick up 12 million escaped Bees....

I would go into more detail, but Miss Kitty has come thru with some photos, so let's move on...

This is me with Red and John at the Flea Market showing off our finds. My find was a really good one, the most beautiful necklace ever, and as it turned out a STEAL at $40. We looked up the designer when we got home, and her pieces start at $300 and go up! I am going to take a picture and write to her, as they are all one of a kind.

No visit to LA would be complete without a visit to the coolest shop ever, Necromancer

I bought a dead Rhino Beetle (not on a key chain this time, hee-hee, Malena will never let me forget that!) and two cool coffins for Malena and I, as well as some old keys, and spider light switch covers.

Kitty has been after me for a while now to pose for her Neverwear site, in a Neverwear Tee Shirt, which of course I agreed to do as long as she took the picture. There was a huge box of T's in the living room, so I got the great idea to take the photo Covered in Neverwear! (as opposed to being Covered in Bees!)

I love this picture, and I am thinking will get no arguments THIS time from Kitty!!!!

Love and Adventures,
Lorraine

well, MISSY emerald green eyes, i am a little frightened by the MMM escape hatch story.
please batton down those hatches and let's not have this episode repeat!?
xoxo and i Love that photo of you, it is almost like it was professionally done---lalala hahah
and your email joke on Medium Cool was very funny, re:slaying yourself...

I was petty scared myself!!! Venus is still freaked and won't leave me. Mim seems fine. I have to go back out to Dog shortly. He is fine, missed the whole thing.

Almost professional indeed!!!!I love those photos! And yes, I am evil, tho I don't think she noticed.

(Medium Cool is very picky about what photos of her get posted, as she has o be because of her job, but after Kitty sent photos, I wrote them both saying hers were good but the ones on my cell were better and I had posted them instead on the blog!)

I'm glad Mim is safe and unhurt! Whew.

That is a great photo of you that Kitty took! Look, there's light and everything! ;)

I now have some photos from Kitty. I will post them on my blog very soon. I am going to David's tonight to get the ones he took.
ha haaa
Mim, my evil little cat. BTW, that PRO photo of Fablo is fabulous Kitty. LOL I love that red hair!

Mim is truly your cat, Malena! I felt so bad for the poor thing, driving up and seeing the cat and thinking :Oh, it looks a lot like Mim!" Thank the gods it wasn't Venus, she would have been SO lost!

Ask David to send me the photos he took of me, he spent so much time with me, after I told him how uncomfortable I was getting photos taken and he showed me how cool it could be.

He and Kitty are the BEST!

PICTURES!

Thankee. :) That is a really cool shot of you in the T-shirts. It's pretty cool about the necklace, too.

I'm sooo glad that Triple M is alright. I'm also glad that Venus didn't try to follow her on her little adventure. I know that heart pounding feeling all to well. No fun.

Holy cow..I just got back from a weeks vacation yesterday (Myrtle Beach:) and y'all were awfully chatty while I was gone.;)

I'm soooooo glad Mim was ok..finding your indoor baby outdoors is pretty high on the trauma scale.

The Neverwear picture rocks!

I'm bummed that I missed Malena's birthday though. Happy Belated Queen Spooky!

It is truly a lovely picture of you. Well done, Kitty!
I do also like the more candid shot of you in front of the Necromancer shop (incredible place!).

Poor little Mimsy!
I am so glad nothing bad happened to her.

Gorgeous shot!! Wow what a neat store.... may the bugs treat you well.

Mimsy!!! You really can't leave bengals alone for a minute...sheesh. Where ever it was that she went... you can bet the Bengal-Voodoo-Wasp-Bee Alliance thingy was behind the operation. I am sure she was successful... except for her exit protocol... clearly she forgot how to get back inside.

I love that photo of you, Fablo. Sexy and sweet and beautiful and what a nice shirt! :-) And I second Sue's request on a close-up of the necklace. Aren't fleamarkets too much fun? I love them, and thrift stores. I've found some good things in the past (but not the recent past, sigh, as I'm poor at the moment -- but things *will* get better!). Anyway, glad you had such a lovely time and glad you're home safe and really really glad that Mim is safe. How scary that could have been and how good that it's all okay! *sweet pats to the freaked-out bengals*

Kitty, LOVE the sketch! Do one of ME!!!!!!!

I will take a close up of the necklace, I'll try with photobooth tonight when I get home.

Necromance is a wonderful store, I was very restrained in my spending, could have bought out the whole place!

Hey Lorraine, I am reading Carrie Vaughan's Kitty Takes a Holiday right now. Thanks for the suggestion. I am enjoying it.

At 9:58 AM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Excellent! I think that the second book, Kitty goes to Washington, was my favorite and I like 3 &4 but I think she needs to keep it fresh, and come up with some excitement or it's going to fade away....

Yay! Photos! And wow, does Kitty know how to bring out the sultry evil in you. :P Gorgeous picture.

So glad Mim is safe and ... I was going to write sound, but since when is a cat sound of mind? (she types, watching one of her cats attack a sunbeam)

"You certainly don't want to go walking through a field of disoriented, agitated and wet honey bees."

I see a comic book in that line.

I found it in the library, by accident, and was very happy to have found it. I haven't read the first one yet. It still seems strange to me that our library system doesn't catalogue paperbacks... and of course you can't request them because they aren't in the system. I wonder if that is standard of libarary systems?

At 10:55 AM , Blogger AletaMay said...

Wow. This post is packed with so much...

Do you still have Jungle Loves 1 and 2? If so I am glad they did not follow Mim's lead. I am so glad she is okay. It sounds like the whole adventure was pretty traumatic for all involved.

Wonderful photos all! Of course the Neverwear one is great and I also really like the one in front of Necromancer. Cool shop!

the sultry evil lives right on the surface of our Ladies L'aM.
ONe thing that wasn't mentioned about the event on Saturday, the music!!! There was a soundtrack of L'aM and Hidden Variable playing and sometimes even I forget that these two joined together for a musical meeting of minds. The new music is so good,
and it reminded me how very talented these two are.

hurry and get a tour together to take me from JONAS BROS. no hope left for NIN, my boss called today. *kitty cries here

At 11:14 AM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

I had the same thought with that line, Mistress Mousey! Cats are not sound of mind at ALL. I am just glad Venus didn't get out, she would have been so very scared. Mim was, but she is not so smart as Venus.

I wish we could tour Kitty and save you!!! What's NIN tho and why is there no hope?

I do have Jungle Loves 1&2, they have their own room tho, and don't mix with mine. I really need to find them a home!!!!!!!!! Aleta? I think your life needs more adventure.....

Flea markets tend to be awesome, but not as creepy as that one. Or do I just not get around enough?

At 11:33 AM , Blogger Rubius said...

Sorry to hear about the lack of NIN hope. Gosh... that would have been SWEET. Lorraine, what do you mean 'what's NIN'!?!? Nine Inch Nails (sorry I am a bit of a NINny)

As far as the great cat escape goes... I am just glad you have been taking them for walks. Imagine how scary it would have been for Mim if she hadn't been outside your house before!!

At 11:42 AM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

What was creepy about our flea market?????

Nine Inch Nails. Got it. Colour me not with it....I just wish she would get on a tour that would come here. I'd even go to Jonas Brothers to see her!

At 11:51 AM , Blogger AletaMay said...

Oh no. My wee apartment is quite full enough with my Ginger Snap cat and I!

At 12:08 PM , Blogger Rubius said...

I don't think the flea market is creepy... I think maybe Emilylady is conflating (I love that word... so useful) the Necromance shop and the flea market.

At 12:09 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Jungle Love 2's real name is Ginger! It's fate! And I think your Ginger Snap is lonely....

Jungle Love 1 is actually Sabrina. The GLBR co-ordinator found the breeder they originally came from. (Who was horrified by what had happened to them) We thought if we started using their first names, the ones they had before all the trouble, it might help them remember good times.

At 12:10 PM , Blogger Kitty Cat said...

she is probably referring to Red as creepy HAHAHAHAHA just a joke, a little joke.

as for NIN, yes, Quiche, good thing Rubius corrected that before Vampira awoke, she would be after your blood.

and yes, NOW i see your comment on Neverwear.
teach me how to do that linky thing, cause me forgots.

At 12:23 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

No, silly, I thought you did one blog that went to two sites. I don't know if you CAN do that or not , I just realized you had two different blogs. Who knew????

Vampira doesn't like NIN that I know of! And she IS up, and it barely noon! I just had an e-mail from her.

Why she isn't here chatting with us I do not know....

At 12:24 PM , Blogger K said...

The photos are pretty, but I am disappointed by the lack of weird and inexplicable lighting effects... :)

At 12:43 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Ok. That made me laugh. Take that, Miss Kitty!

At 12:46 PM , Blogger Rubius said...

Taste in Music - it is so hard to judge what kind of music people like... I never thought I would be a NIN person but I was introduced at the right time and it kind of stuck. Now when I am losing it.. angry and sad and hurt and frustrated... there is nothing quite like NIN to smooth down my edges. I was really curious when you mentioned them today Kitty because I wondered what the people on this blog (who obviously appreciate LaM, music that is quite different from NIN) would think and say about it.

It has to be hard to be a breeder... when you care about your animals that is... to watch them go out into the world knowing what people can be like. Poor Ginger and Sabrina. How have they been faring lately? Are they getting friendlier?

At 12:53 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Yes, much friendlier! I have them off the evil Fancy Feast now (don't get me started on what it does to their poop!) and they are loving this boiled chicken or hamburger-rice.

Except for Venus who thinks it sucks. I have to pretend it is mine, and she can't have any before she will eat it.

Sabrina and Ginger are going to be just fine, if I can find them the right home, I'll kind of miss them, but they need a home.

Anyone in Minneapolis??? Nearby? I'd love it if they went to someone we know...

At 12:58 PM , Blogger EmilyLady said...

I think you're right about my conflating, Rubius. I'm sorry about that!

~Emily

At 4:34 PM , Blogger Kitty Cat said...

ok, i wager you.

If Malena Medium Cool Teves says she isnt a NIN fan, i will eat my hat. with salt. and tabasco.

don't you remember her fake-fainting when i gave her that NIN plastic bag???

and ok, i agree, no cool shadowy effects on the photos.
but those I can add and subtract at will.
xo

At 6:48 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

If she is a NIN fan she has kept it a secret from me all these years, and I've never seen any of their cd's or anything in her I-tunes.....

At 7:20 PM , Blogger Rubius said...

uh oh... there is some heat in that debate.

:-)

Looks like that was the third in the Kitty series. Now I should go track them down.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I AM THEEEEEEEEEEEEE NIN fan of the WORLD! You have no idea. That song "I want to ****..." plays everytime I am boxing, and everytime I hike up the hills at night and...well, I'll let you fill in the blanks. Also, "You are the perfect drug" is another fav. David made me a NIN mix with all the good stuff. I LOVE NIN...like TR is second only to PRINCE!!! Oh yes! wehoooo
(just in case you didn't know how I felt)

At 7:38 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Hmmph. I think Kitty paid her off.

I don't think I have ever HEARD a NIN song.

At 7:57 PM , Blogger Kitty Cat said...

Quichey, i will make you a NIN mix, or better MALENA--send her a copy of yours---
I believe that you would love this band, FabLo.
In fact, Trent sings on a Tori song,
and YOU LOVE THAT SONG. (past the mission)

I will make you a LITTLE GHOST MIX.
ps No, didn't pay off that Vampire. I swear.
not even a little bit! hahahAHAHAHAHAHAH

Yes! Make me a mix! And I so want to hear Little Ghost! We play it, but I have never heard the origional version that White Stripes did....

At 8:20 PM , Blogger AletaMay said...

(Just to be clear that happy sigh above is from watching Lorraine learn something new about her friend. I personally have no opinion on NIN)
