Well, did the show...
Home now in the Spooky House. Woodsman Hans is staying with Cabel, and when last we checked in, both were having a fine time with the sleepover. It's me and the Bengals tonight in a bed with new sheets, which after the last week, seems just about perfect to me.
Tonight's gig was, well, had a few moments but had to work for all of them. Nights like this I try and sync up with Paul and just play for us, and enjoy the music, and we did do some fine things, LOTS of new stuff we hadn't really tried before, rehearsal is what it was, which is good.
Fiends Amy was there and brought cat toys, bonus!
But still, it is better when it is magic, and we have the people, and they are with us. I whine, I know, they can't all be great, but it was a whole lot of having sex and not making love this evening. If you see what I mean, to put it bluntly. Work, not love tonight. Still as Adam says, got paid, good gig.
And I did rock me some U2, which I can do no matter who is paying attention.
I have a lot of thoughts on gigs and if one can get people into it. I feel like it is my job to make them pay attention, to make the show, to bring them in and make this magic. If they aren't, I'm not doing my job. But sometimes, no matter how good you are, they just aren't there.
All goes with the gig, sometimes the magics there and sometimes it isn't.
Tomorrow is fun, I am going to a dressage clinic, as a watcher, not a rider, and get to see some amazing riders, which I am looking forward to. Then after, a ride myself, before nipping back to Dog.
Work next week promises to be something. We will certainly have more on what leads up to Opening of Movie. Just saw a Coraline add on TV, doesn't seem real, like something I am involved in. Very fun tho. Still havn't seen the HBO bit, but hope to soon...
Love and Sleepy,
Lorraine

And the benefit of still being awake is being first! Or nearly first, if someone sneaks in before me.
Sometimes we have nights like that, yeah? I'm glad you got to do some practice, anyway.
Now, to bed with me, I will check the ticky so I can find you all.
Enjoy sleeping in your own bed!
In bed wiht the Bengals?
That the perfect end for the day.
Got paid? Good gig indeed, even if it wasn't orgasmic. At least, I am sure you gave the best you could give.
You got paid to practice then. Sorry to hear about the not fun. Here's wishing the magic falls in for you next gig.
Same to you, Tattooed Tiger, for Drew. Perhaps they didn't get the Sir Elton gig, because something better for them is waiting in the wings.
As I type this note, I am deleting a lot of files. Just wrapped up a contract with my former employer. Everything's posted to an ftp and in others' hands. I'm the last one out, from my original company. It's really done and gone. I expected to feel relief, but no joy.
To sleep then. Here's wishing a better tomorrow for all, fods bless us everyone, and if you've just had a great day, may tomorrow be even better.
Yes, I did do what I could, and I am home now, which is all good, me and Benglas off to sleep...
A meh gig. You have more of the yippee ones though, and paid rehearsal is a plus. Which makes me ask something - when the heck do you fit in rehearsals?
Hope your night at home with Bengals is a grand one.
which u2 songs?
i am so not asleep, which is bad :(
glad you get some bengal/own bed time, i can only imagine this week is going to be bonkers
Sometimes the Meh is there for balance. Makes the Magic all that much more special.
Am home from Chicago, had too much tea on the way home and am way too awake for just after 3am. Spent the day playing with a 6-year old and his 18-month old brother, and hanging out with their parents.
I am still catching up on all the comments on the last post, you Fiends have been a talkative lot today!
very glad you're home safely DG, even if you are wired!
Meh - Sorry your gig wasn't magical Lorraine. I hope you are sleeping while I type this.
Marjorie - Both of your junkets were art... inspired art.
Jess - I'm glad you liked the teeshirt. Here it is for all the fiends:
http://chrisbishop.com/obama/
I went to The Cartoon Art Museum in San Francisco today and it was magical.
In case you didn'y know, they're exhibiting a bunch of stuff from the Coraline movie.
The drawings, the sculptures, the little costumes and templates, the NOTEBOOK by one of the armature (sp?) artists. I could have stayed there all day.
There was also the flat screen TV that was showing not only the short movies we've all seen on the website, but others. BIG. No little computer screen for me to squint at.
FUN.
If you're in San Francisco before Feb. 15th, go to the museum. And see artistry in all of its lovely tiny details.
Okay, to bed with me. Nighty night fiends.
sorry the gig didn't take off, (but paid rehersal can't be bad)and nice that you get to sleep in your own home for a change.
I've been thinking for a while that your life & work at the moment remind me of what Terry Pratchett said, in the about the author bit of some of his books; that he "doesn't want to get a life, because it feels as though he's trying to lead three already" . . .
Ticia - thank you. I never thought of them that way! (Mostly now I'm just wandering round the house going 'Neil Gaiman linked to MY blog!!' - happy dance)
The dressage clinic sounds fun - look forward to hearing about it.
Sorry to hear the gig was a bit empty, but the valleys come so we can recognize the peaks and the zone times. Ugh...that sounds like something one of those cloying "infomercially" God-hucksters would say.
I shouldn't be watching Sunday-morning TV. Even out of the corner of my eye.
Put it this way: I write and perform my own music, too--dark, dark, medieval doomed-Catholic death-stuff: dirges; laments; mystic howlings & ravings; the lot; only with electric guitars and sometimes accordions.Someone once compared me to the illegitimate love-child of Dave Gahan and Sinead O'Connor. I took it as a compliment. I had to.
So,moral-of-story: I hear you. Some nights, the magic is simply not being "exchanged," even though we try. The wild part? On those nights, we're probably really kicking-arse, playing with brilliance...only we don't know it because, for whatever cosmic-tick, we feel flat.
Self-perception is a harsh mistress.
Enjoy fun-times at the dressage and, hey, you'll feel the love at the next gig. Or the next.
(BTW: What do you cover by U2? Sweet~)
Jake Ian
Warm! It's warm out today! And sunny!
(Sally, by this I mean it is 45F... just so you know.)
But.... yay!
Have fun at the clinic today!
Ticia, lucky you, the museum sounds awesome, sure wish i could see that exhibit. Marjorie, of course you got linked - the food was amazing, even if the cats got some of it :) Lorraine, I too wonder what U2? I do love U2. Have fun at the dressage clinic, it's so beautiful and seems effortless, the moves are so small, horse and rider as one. And have a good ride yourself, your upcoming week looks to be very busy! And a shout-out to Kitty and Drew - that's a shame about the Elton John show, tho it's nice he will be in Portland (both of you are going?) and I'm sure you're as busy as all heck too! have fun all, and may the superbowl commercials be entertaining.
Thank you my dears! Feeling beyond it now, as one does in the morning, TIRED tho! Darn three night weekends!
Drinking tea and trying to wake up.
Ah, U2, Running to Stand Still off Joshua Tree, the BEST U2. Didn't like much after that one, but sure do love that one.
Dan, I just read your comment out of context as it popped up in my e-mail - very odd mental image there for a minute until I remembered what Q said in her original post!
Sue, I really didn't grudge it to Tybalt - including the initial experiments I ended up with about 2 pints of junket, and I haven't any visitors to help me eat it, this weekend! Just as long as Tybalt doesn't expect me to make it for him on a regular basis!
You got paid, Q! Remember that. :) And you did all you could. All art is a collaboration-- there's a certain point at which the audience has to be willing to meet you for the magic to happen. You did your job; people in bars just aren't always up to theirs.
We know you rock! And hurrah for horses! Have fun today.
Happy Sunday, all! It's warm and sunny over Chez Jess, and the roof man is on his way! All is well.
This comment has been removed by the author.
Yay for sun and the roof man, Jess. I'll keep my fingers crossed that he's not too expensive
It was 46 here yesterday, tied the record. Very weird.
I'm anticipating that it'll be more than I'd like, unfortunately-- the estimates I've gotten before now were high enough that I kept putting it off. And now I can't put it off any more. :( But we'll see! Maybe I'll get a break as it's Hard Times.
Jess- Yay for the roof man. I hope your towels are salvagable. That was one emergency Ford Prefect wasn't anticipating, but it proves the axiom: A towel is about the most massively useful thing.... in the Galaxy.
46 waaaaaay up there?!? Wah! It was something like 20 down here. It's supposed to be near 40 today.
Jack (the smaller dog) had An Adventure today. They've both been cooped up since Tuesday as it's just too cold / snowy for them to go out. They were going bonkers today so I opened the door to see if they'd venture out. Robin refused. Jack hurled himself out the door, made 4 leaps across the snow , then stopped with a "OMG!! HELP ME!!!" look on his face (he was buried up to his neck in a drift).
I picked him up and carried him out to the bird feeder with me, then set him down under the tree (where there wasn't a foot of snow). He ran along the house under the eaves where snow hadn't fallen and disappeared around the corner.
I gave him a minute to have a romp, then called him. He didn't come. I walked over to that side of the house - and there he was with a squirrel by the tail! This is a dog that is about the same size as a squirrel. The squirrel was trying to run away, but Jack had a clamp on his tail. I told him to let go and he did, but when he turned around he had a mouthful of squirrel tail hairs.
Silly dog. On the other hand, if I run out of paintbrushes I know who I can count on...
He was quick! I bet the squirrel insulted him copiously.
Sorry to hear about the flavorless gig. There are surely wonderful gigs to come.
Did anyone else pick up 3D glasses as instructed (by Vampi, I think?)
I've just been playing with them, and there are a couple of very fun videos to watch.
(I don't have TV, so I can't watch the movie preview.)
Nathalie - they taunt him relentlessly by jumping off trees right in front of him. Robin ignores them, but Jack lives for the chase.
I saw an ad in the paper for 3D Coraline here. It seems that with all the new sprawl, there's a 3D theater not far from here (Plainfield Metropolis). I think there are 4 3D theaters showing it here.
Believe it or not, my question had nothing to do with Coraline. These 3D glasses are for a Superbowl promotion.
Phiala-why, yes! I did indeed get the Sobe Lifewater (oops,ad! Sorry Quiche) 3D glasses as instructed by Vampi (and mighty surprised to find them, out here in the boonies. But the company is probably owned by Coke, and they are everywhere :) )
Anyway, I didn't know they worked on other clips. What videos are you using them with? Now I want to try!!
And it is only my loyalty to Vampi and her Boy that has me watching the Superbowl today. Plus lack of anything better to do, and it is something of a social event in these parts..
Wow, I thought I was the only person who thought the Joshua Tree was the best and loves Running to Stand Still! Cool! That "album" is one I have most vivid memories of hearing at parties when it was released, just great, great stuff.
Lys, and anyone else with the glasses. These aren't regular red-blue anaglyph glasses - some kind of amber-blue combo, and a new technology, apparently. But there are a few videos out there that you can watch with them.
snake is my favorite, and that user has more with the right kind of 3D.
skydiving
and the Sobe superbowl ad is already up at the web page printed on tha glasses. Have to wait for the monsters, tho.
Please note: the 3D effect does not work while a cat is licking one lens of the glasses, although you DO get a good view of a rough blue tongue.
Hope all the horse stuff is going well Q!
When Paul and Lorraine play Running to Stand Still I almost always get tears in my eyes. Watching Lorraine on her violin in this piece is a religious experience. Seriously.
you can rock the U2 baby!
i have heard it.
am happy to report Boss all on way to next junket leg,
and there is a new blog up on Neverwear.net
(one of my new year's resolutions was to keep up with the posting, with Quiche as my influence)
now we are on a movie shoot, for the short called "THE EXECUTIVE"---will be up on youtube soon.
Aleta--I can sort of imagine, but thank you for sharing that personal experience. Joshua Tree has long been among my favourite albums of all time.
Kat-thank YOU for keeping everyone up to date, in the midst of your actual tornado (:)) of taskings.
Phiala's links have been a good test of the glasses (Angus has shown no interest, as yet, in involving himself) and I, too, like Snake the most. A little problematic with the glasses and my horrid vision, so I appreciate all the more this chance to work out the issues!
Coraline will definitely be a contact lens event.
Rats - I had 3-D glasses from Journey to the Center of the Earth, but I can't find them now.....Grrrr.
Giddy about the warmth down here, too. Almost 50 yesterday, almost 40 today. It is the little things.
indeed it was i who told everyone to get the glasse:)
johua tree is my favorite u2 album ever with running to stand still my tops.
i'm not actually watching the superbwl, i'm dvring it and fast forwarding to the trailer.
Hey Lys I just wore the 3D glasses over my regular glasses to watch Coraline and it worked well. (As well as 3D can work for me being that I am virtually blind in one eye)
I am so lazy today! Much to get done but no motivation to do!
:) I fell for U2's music as War came out, first saw them in concert on the "Unforgettable Fire" tour, and I still think of J.T. as the "newer" album, which is goofy. I like a couple of their later albums a lot, but it's seems like a completely different era.
We're all about the Steelers here today - my guy is a lifelong, died-in-the-wool Steelers fan. Already have the pre-game stuff going. (Glad they're showing that abroad!)
Here we go, Steelers. Here we go.
*whirls terrible towel*
That's, um. All I had to say. Ackshally.
Happy Dance Happy Dance.
The bra I washed didn't dry overnight - no stinky heat!
PLUS, it rained. I woke up to the sound of pelting rain.
Squee. I don't mind that it will get to be hot and muggy today because right now it is beeuteifull
I want some 3 D glasses.
Jess! Well done. :) My guy has his Ward jersey on, both terrible towels out (one for the older monster to whirl). Insanity. Ooo! Obama's coming on, I hear. Do presidents usually bother?
Ha ha! Happy dance for you, Sally. Enjoy the break.
We too, are Pittsburgh fans. Unless, of course, the Eagles had managed to stay aloft. A pan- Pennsylvania Super Bowl would
have been great fun. But as usual, Philly folded at the crucial moment.
Here's to good trailers, and other interesting commercials, and lots of laundry-folding (my usual football game task.)
Been reading to catch up...but way busy.
Can't remember what else I wanted to say...
Except, we stayed for the Quiche is terrific!
Thought of Miss Kitty and her Drew when they showed the Nextel Direct commercial, with roadies running the airlines. So cute! And probably pretty true. :-)
Quiet fiends tonight - must be the commercials.
I'm off to watch Sense and Sensibility. I'll keep an eye out for zombies.
Night, Fiendom.
Enjoy the movie Siri!
How was the clinic Lorraine? Was it a nice break from emails and phones? Did you ride?
And, did you ever tell us about your movie-going experience? I will stop asking after this comment, I promise.
Oooh, Siri, which version of S&S? :)
Commercials here are nothing special. So I'm working and cleaning things during the breaks.
How industrious of you, Na. I'm fighting just to stay awake. I usually sleep through American football. There's something about the "white noise" from the roaring crowd that knocks me out.
Next time I have a long flight, I'm listening to football so I can sleep.
Hi, Fiends!
Hi, SFMarty! Do you like to play?
::ssssnnnnniiiiiffffff::
Aaaaaaahhhhhhh!
::LIPSMACK::
heh heh heh heh heh
i'll be honest, not watching superbowl now that i've seen "the" play and the ad for monsters vs aliens twice. the joys of dvr.
that 99 yard inteception for a touchdown was pretty awesome.
"Monsters vs Aliens" definitely looks like a fun movie. I hope the 3D effect is better in the theatre, as I wasn't real impressed beyond the paddleball. Wasn't impressed with the other 3D commercials either. Admittedly, it could be my eyes as I've been having a lot of problems with my right eye.
yeah the theater uses a polarized glasses. i believe coraline will use the same technology. the glasses look almost like sunglasses with a weird gray color tint. it's going to be much better in theaters according to boy who has seen it already.
this was a different 3d technology and a gimmick for the superbowl.
2008 PBS version of S&S. Meh. Not that fond of that particular book. Marianne pisses me off. She thinks it's all about her, when everyone knows it's all about me.
Anyone know what's happened to our Lorraine? She's been riding for many many hours. She'll be sore.
My imaginary scenario involves a very relaxed Q, in the ginormous tub, soaking all her aches and cares away. Well, that will be me, in a minute, anyway.
Wishing everyone a relaxing end to the weekend.
I forgot! Siri - ::snort::
Why is it that no one believes me when I say it's all about me?
Could it be it isn't?
Nah....Off to bed now. Really. I mean it.
Thanks, Vampi! I've seen "Dinosaurs Alive" in IMAX, and the 3D "Journey to the Center of the Earth," and didn't have much of a problem with either. DH took to girls to see "Bolt" in 3D, and said it was better 3D than "Journey to the Center of the Earth."
DH was actually impressed for it being on home TVs. ::shrug:: Like I said, it could just be my eyes.
well, the TV commercials didn't give me as much of a headache as the clips online which Phiala linked to --and granted, I DID enjoy watching those.
SO....contacts, just because they even my eyes out better. Glasses just can seem to correct sufficiently for the right eye.
Wondering myself how the riding/watching has gone. She must be one tired lady! and cannot blame her if a hot bubbly tub cried out louder than those of us vult-ing around her like demented Snoopies, awaiting word.
On another note: Donielle is the BEST Vampi Fiend EVAH!!!!!
package came this weekend. And, thoughtful Fiend that she is, she included a pair of 3D glasses just in case.
You gotta appreciate that....
THANKS, VAMPI!!!!!! You the UNDEAD! er, MAN!! er, WOMAN!! er, FIEND!!!
You get the idea :)
weee glad hte package got there in one piece :)
now to resend ticia's package of cd's because the post office monster must have eaten it. bah. this is why i don't like the post office.
Aww. Running to Stand Still is one of my favorite's of U2's stuff. And I bet it's great with violin. Too bad the crowd was kind of eh. Hope you had a good ride today Lorraine:)
Marjorie those junkets were truly works of art. I especially like the chocolate buttons.:)
Maureen - Fierce puppy! Your Jack reminds me of my Mom's Yorkie Tigger. Little dogs crack me up the way they're not scared of anything.
You guys were playing really well (like always). =) Just a really strange crowd...very focused on themselves and their talk rather than all the fantastic Rock.
I haven't read anything yet but am here to ask you all to pray, good-vibe, think good strong thoughts, whatever you believe for my good friend Sarah. She was just diagnosed Hodgkins lymphoma. She was ben's nanny from a few months old until he was 2 1/2. She is an amazing person, has a 2 yr old son. She was there for me through so much including losing the pregnancy year before last. She's a doula, a lactation consultant, such a giving person. Anyway, she's in for lymph node removal surgery today for the final biopsy (the needle biopsy said hodgkins). Any good energy that you all wonderful people can send toward santa cruz would be greatly appreciated.
I'll be back to read and catch up a bit later.
Oh, Chantrelle. I'm truly sorry that this is happening to your friend. While it's not a diagnosis that anyone wants to hear, it's not as bad as it once was. Attitude has a LOT to do with recovery, and I know you'll be able to help Sarah and her family which will ease her mind.
So, pass this on to Sarah. {{{Chantrelle}}}
Sending lots of healing vibes, Chantrelle. It's one of those conditions I've heard about lots without actually knowing what it is so I Wikied it and found out: The survival rate is generally 90% or higher when the disease is detected during early stages, making it one of the more curable forms of cancer. My biology isn't great but I think lymph nodes are around your navel, an area traditionally associated with dynamism and energy - that's what she needs, that's what I'll focus on. And (((hug))) to you.
Popping in for a moment to wave, and then back to the wild world of movie launching....
Hugs to everyone! I'll do a new post tonight after things calm down.
Heh.
Chantrelle--of course the first thing from my heart are waves of good energy.
The second word of hope I have is for you to consider: some twenty-five years ago, I knew a girl who was diagnosed with Hodgkin's. She whistled at Faire for the dancers; don't think she was up to the grueling dance schedule itself, but played for many shows and marched in processions.
You *could* say she stole a boyfriend of mine (she would say took him back :) )
I recently reconnected with them on Facebook; happily married for over twenty years and with a lovely daughter. Still dealing with life's challenges.
Hugs...
Chantrelle - healing thoughts coming your friend's way, for her, as well as her circle of family and friends.
Hey, Lorraine sighting! :) *waves back* Be well.
If I'm reading Himself's twitter correctly, he's doing 29 interviews today alone, and I'm thinking Q has most likely organised not just those 29 but all the one's that didn't happen too. And that's just the interviews. Perhaps she's already been cloned, each clone with eight juggling arms......
Waving at the Quiche! Obviously Rising to the occasions.. *g*
Hello, Q! May your day be productively launchy, with at least a little downtime.
Hugs to you, Chantrelle; keeping you and your friend in my thoughts.
How did it get to be nearly 3:00?! Where did my day go? Argh.
All you wild cat fiends should check out this video from the BBC
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/7865737.stm
Tigers in Norfolk England enjoying the snow. Maybe they would like Minnesota?
Hugs to your friend, chantrelle, and healing thoughts too - two friends of mine are lymphoma surivors, one hodgkins, one non-hodgkins. it is a scary time to be sure, and all the well wishes and prayers and support do help.
Sending vibes over to your friend, Chantrelle. It's a bitter battle.
Chantrelle, so sorry to hear about your friend - lots of supportive and healing thoughts for Sarah, and her friends and family.
((Chantrelle))
Chantrelle -- I am sending healing thoughts Sarah's way and will include her in my night time healing meditation.
Lorraine, good to see you are still out there being fabulous!
Jess -- I am right there with you on the "how did it get to be this late in the day" feeling. I need a better plan for the rest of this week, that is for sure.
Chantrelle, Light and healing thoughts heading toward you and Sarah for the highest good for all.
((((Chantrelle)))) and truckloads of healing energy and hugs for Sarah.
Also energy to Quiche, who must need it now more than ever, glad you could drop in.
Fiends - its COOL. Wow. more happy dancing here.
I need no Tigers here!!!!!! Five Leopards are more than enough!
Love to Chantrelle and hugs!
Couple more hours adn LA will be closing...Someone told me London was closed today as they had six inches of snow???????
I just saw some pictures of London with *lots* of snow. I'm getting ready to email Pat to see if they got any in Bristol. She loves snow.
/drive-by comment
I am so sorry to hear this about your friend, Chantrelle. Sending lots of love and joy and hope and healing towards you and Sarah.
Sally!! So happy for the cool. Hope things stay that way, for as long as you want them too.
Thanks for all the lovely words. She came through the lymph node removal well, now it's just waiting for lab results. I'm sure in the long run she'll be fine, it's just having to go through the chemo and crap...poor thing!
I've been juggling house projects and contractors today, haven't really had time to catch up...and now i have to get ben out of his quiet time and make dinner.
where did the day go?
I need a Lorraine!! ;-)
Off topic (as though that was unusual!) I dreamt last night that my daughter and one of her friends were living in college housing, an efficiency on the third floor of a Victorian House. Boss had decided to borrow their room to hole up and write for awhile. However, we needed to paint the bed red first...not the bed frame, but the mattress. So we were painting with long handled artist's brushes...very slow!
And I found myself thinking: this won't work at all. He'll have to eat at the cafeteria, and the students will all mob him, and he won't get ANYTHING done.
Alarm went off then. I think some of my unconscious mind was worrying about how much Q has to do!
Re London closed:
Did anyone else see that they closed Heathrow Airport after a jet plane *slid* off the runway? Due to the heavy and still falling snow?
Must have just been me.....
Get Dan to clone me!!!!! I could use another me!
Fods, I am tired, may be falling asleep in front of the tv tonight sooner rather than later.
Martin says he had 8-10 inches on his window! In London, I sure bet they aren't used to that!
Glad Boss is not flying over this week. He's in Canada poor man.
Lorraine!! It's good to ready you.
Go ahead - fall asleep. It's a good thing.
Lorraine...sleep is your friend! And good night to all fiends. I'm off to bed.
*hugs* and healing vibes for Sarah. It's a long haul, but I believe she will come out okay.
Quichie...still alive? yes?
So absurdly tired. Fell asleep at midnight. Woke up at five and did not sleep until getting up at eight-thirty. Lead storytime at library in the morning. Painted backdrop for community talent show in evening. Dealt with another marvelous crisis having to do with father. Can't focus. Must collapse. Hope all Fiends are resting well.
Love,
~A Dazed and Groggy Emily
And how perfect is it that someone named Martin is reporting on the snow depth in London. Not Chad. Or Lance. But Martin. You can't even say Martin without an English accent.
siri... clearly you've never see the martin lawrence show. i always ssay it as "ma'tin" and you have to include hte neck pop.
causes me all sorts of amusement as i have to remember to say it normally at work because i don't think our IT guy would find it so amusing.
warm thoughts, cold thoughts, quiet restful thoughts, and supportive thoughts to all fiends as needed.
today was just weird. i had to go to the sunset office, and well the sunset strip is just a weird place where time happens differently. then i come home to try and catch up on real work and my laptop will not turn on.
weeeeee.
<3 fiends i'm off to wake the boy and go play with the beasts.
Emily - make sure to keep some of that good energy vibe for yourself. Feel the strength of the Fiends behind you. Or beside you. Wherever you want us.
Ugg. I did fall asleep in front of the tv. Think I'll really go to sleep v early tonight!
Best and goodnight/good morning/good afternoon to all fiends everywhere.
Emily so sorry to hear that you are having to deal with more of this stuff. Difficult.
Chantrelle, sending light and healing to your friend. I have a good friend who's survived Hodgkin's and it's such a scary thing.
And more energy to Ticia and Quiche:)
Martha those tigers were adorable:D
I KNEW there was something I was meant to go back and look at - thanks for the reminder Kali. Martha, those tigers are adorable.
Chantrelle, I hope Sarah isn't too sore, if so I hope they've given her some good stuff to take it away.
Emily, what a day. I've always wanted to do storytime, but I think I'll have to wait until people die or retire in order to get that gig at our library! Hope you have a lovely rest.
Martha, those tigers are gorgeous. There is also a funny story about a shoe being chucked at the Chinese Leader. Must be a new sport!
100th! (Why yes, I am easily excited)
Must go out into the snow, now. We had some more over night so about 2" now.
Will be fun getting to work, as most of the roads I go on are not big enought to be gritted, and judging by last night, many people do not realise that ice on the road = more care needed.
Someone has stolen the lid of my recyling box freom outside my door (Possibly to use as a sled, although where they will find a hill just here I do not know)
Emily, hope things improve {{Emily}}
Chantrelle, I have a friend who was one of the first two in the US to beat Hodgkin’s. And that was in the bad old days- the 70’s. Now it’s totally different, and she has a much better outlook. We’ll send positive thoughts her way.
Maureen, can I borrow Jack for a Fun Romp Through Our Attic? He can get into all those far corners where our Fluffy-Tailed Tree Rats nest.
Hooray to Sally for cool weather!
Good wishes to Lorraine and Emily for more rest and less crazy stuff to deal with.
Christopher Moore is going to be in Austin on the 22nd! I want to drive down and get the new book signed!
Good morning to all Fiends. Rested quite well. Dreamt of "The Graveyard Book".
Chantrelle, I hope you, Sarah, and Sarah's family are feeling as well as is possible! How is she doing?
It is snowing here. Yesterday was 50 degrees F. This is, I believe, our fifth snowstorm.
I think I am going to crawl to California. No airfare, no train tickets, just hands and knees!
Morning, all you snowed in and not so snowy Fiends!!!!!!!
