Hot Tubs and Puppy Love

I am not sure there could be much greater joy for me than I had tonight when I went into my very own hot tub on my very own as yet unfinished deck and sat in my exactly 102 degree water and looked up at the stars. Bliss, pure bliss. And no, that is not my house in the background! That is some sort of small hut that I am going to shingle and paint, then have my artist friend Laura paint in some sort of wonderful Starry Starry Night sort of thing.

Tinka, also known as M the Wonder Dog ( because of the M on her head ) or Doofus ( depending on who is speaking to her ) is curled up with her Fish, and fast asleep. She is turning out to be such a fine Dog Thing, she knows to Do Her Business on the paper if she can't get out and is a joy and a delight. Always up for fun is Tinka, little hip hop bat frog pig dog, so full of love, so sweet, so adoring.

I can't wait to hand her over to Malena.

I am so a cat person.

I am worried a little tho....I bought this the other day at an antique store, for my bathroom....A face and chair only a mother could love.....What was I thinking of?????????

Gigs this weekend, see you at Charlie's if you are in town, other than that , Tinka and I will be in the hot tub!

Puppy Love and Hot water,
Lorraine

I can't believe you bought that chair Lorraine! Me and my evening gowns and you with your antiques....What a pair of witchies we are.

I can't wait to get my dog. Fablo is allergic to dogs and I am allergic to cats. I guess we found one thing we don't have in common. It's a miracle.

That hot tub looks veddy niiice indeed. There's nothing like looking up at the stars on a cold night from the comfort of a hot spring or, in your case, a hot tub.

I have a friend and former roommate who dedicated his mathematics classes to attempting to recreate Starry Night using Bic pens. He became quite good at it.

Have fun gigging!

Starry Night seems to be universally loved. I just had to paint it on a wall

Stars in the sky, eh? We used to have those... then the strip malls moved in :(

I love the chair!

That's a very cute little extraterrestrial you have there. I don't think it's a dog, either. (How about some pictures of Misty to redress the balance of cute?)

I've missed you people... I have had my life eaten by grad school (by correspondence, while working full-time) and have been neglecting everybody.

But I'm glad that LaMie life is continuing as usual (if there is such as thing as usual where you are concerned...)

How are the Hallowe'en plans coming?

I've never been in a hot tub; a Japanese style bath, but not a hot tub. I didn't even get in my in-laws' when we were there last year. It's got to be easier to get in and out of than a regular bathtub, not to mention the extra leg room.
Oh, well, maybe some day.

I choose to believe that you bought the chair for it's lines, and the fabric was just too cute to pass up, considering Miss Tinka. ;) I mean, you can always change the fabric.

At least dogs and cats don't announce to everyone in a public restroom that you have a big butt, even if it's true.

Oops. I forgot. How do you get my voice message off the site/snapvine recorder?

the funniest starry night interpretation i ever saw was the old album cover of Cyndi Laupers's (if i remember correctly) where it was painted on the soles of her shoes. the hot tub looks wonderful-i am soooo envious, as it has been in the 40's here - chilly, but too warm for the wood stove, so i am always cold whether in or out, no matter what i am wearing. enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!!! you deserve it, and looking at the stars while soaking sounds like utter heaven. we would like to get one, but perhaps a sauna first - i am half finn, and fondly remember the saturday night rituals when i was a kid at my grands. hey, the new chair rocks, what taste!

I found this and I think Lorraine's the only person who would appreciate it. ;) Look! Day of the Dead *everything*-- Day of the Dead lovers in a gondola with the grim reaper, Day of the Dead punk rocker.. Day of the Dead mermaid _candleholder_! It's just too much. :) Mwah!

Oh yes!! Cats!! That is soo me!! I wuvs me bebes!! I can see, sometimes, what people see in dogs, but I've tried them and I just can't do the dog thing. Actually, I've been in a simplification stage for a few years now and dogs definitely complicate lives moreso than cats.

Nice hot tub. When it snows, you'll really enjoy sitting in it.

Yeah, Cindi Lauper's album cover is pretty nifty. I've always been fond of starry night. VG did several variations on that theme. The infamous "they" always say it is tiny, but I actually saw it at the MET in NYC and it isn't sooo small. It is not as rich as it looks in duplication. I love Don McLean's song "Starry Night". That is how I learned of the painting when I was just a small sprite.
