Little Things and Sparrows

I was doing some updating on my blog. As in, we aren't Friends, we're Fiends, and then I read the little bit under, the bio-y thing, and realized I had no idea what it was talking about.. Did any of you? It seemed a little confused as to what, or who it or I was. Well, cleared that up, Fiends.

Then I went to save this brilliant new intro, and there were two buttons to choose from. One said "Save Changes" and the other said "Delete Blog Forever" with a note saying if you chose Delete, you could put up a New Blog there, but your old one and all of it's archives, would be deleted forever and they were very sorry but forever means forever and they could not be gotten back ever by anyone!

Pick the right button or be lost forever. Harsh choices.

I think the Save This button and the Delete Forever button ought not be in such close proximity, personally. And WHY is there a delete forever button anyway???? If one ever got tired of a blog, one could say, make a new one, but wiping everything out seems a little extreme.

I know I blogged and linked to this last week, but it is so in my head that I am going to again tonight. Sparrow Quartet. Quite simply one of the best albums I have ever heard. Truly a masterpiece of a work. I haven't listened to anything else since I got it, and never seem to get tired of it. (Not something you might think of when someone says "Hey, it's Chinese and the Banjo...You'll love it!") It could be one symphony, it is so well constructed. It may well be the best album ever.

If you can get to see them, GO! This isn't something you want to miss, and it may never happen again. Tour Info Here...

That's about it for excitement and adventures today. Nathilie did not, during my French Lesson Via Skype, hold her head in hands and shake it (much anyway) nor laugh at me (Very much anyway) and I made it up the four flights of stairs to class. (in one go..) I still haven't taken the first big test, but I have it, and I could have passed, except, apparently, spelling counts. Go figure.

Sending out Big hugs to Phiala, who lost a friend today. Never a good thing...

Love and music,
Lorraine

I agree that "Delete forever" and "Save Changes" should always be separated by some distance. They often don't seem to be though. Do they.

Phiala I hope you are surrounded by friends and loved ones and are sharing the pain of your loss. I agree with Val that sudden is so much more difficult.

On a very different subject (and SO sorry that I can't recall who said it first) I like the idea of a globe in this page with pins in all of the places Fiends are. I suppose it should be on the new website.

Who'da thunk banjo and Chinese music went together so well?

Nice intro. I imagine you saying 'be VERY welcome' in a very evil voice.

I think I still mourn the old blog a little bit though. It is a very nice blog now... especially with all the delurking and Night Garden stuff, etc. It's like apples and oranges... not really comparable... but both wonderful in their own way. Nostalgia is often tangible for me... I ALWAYS miss the old. Not that I think the new is any less.

Phiala, I'm so sorry. Remember the good times and they will live on inside of you. Virtual hugs.

All those cities and no Sparrow Quartet here in the bay area...sigh.

I tend to not always read what I'm clicking so I'd probably accidentally delete my entire blog.

Downloading pics from my camera, I have to share one of those great "engrish" warning labels :)

At 6:22 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Yes, we will have a map on the new website, to be certain! That would be fun, to see where everyone is.

Yes, I was doing my evil voice when I wrote that. I thought about adding "If you have a kind heart, and sharp claws, you are one of us" may yet.

Rubious, speaking of maps and where people live, Sparrow Quartet is coming to Vancouver....Go, and share this joy!If you go, say hi to Bela afterwards and tell him I sent you....

At 6:23 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

No Bay area? Very sad that...

We need to see this warning lable....

At 6:24 PM , Blogger Jess said...

Sparrow Quartet are cool-- I've got to listen some more. :)

Yay! We are offically fiends.

I have used the "delete forever" button before, and I've blitzed all my posts save one numerous times in various fits of pique which Nathalie will remember and hopefully none of the rest of you witnessed. :/ It felt good to do it in most cases, usually when I began to feel like I'd never write anything again unless it was another stupid blog post; I did always try not to startle my (very few) readers when I did it. I like to think that a blog can be an ephemeral thing, though-- little moments of brilliance that go out after a time, and get replaced by something else equally brilliant.

Does anyone else ever find their other half actually sitting next to them when they post comments on here? I speak from experience when I say it's a bit unnerving. I can't type whe he's sitting there smirking. :D

At 6:26 PM , Blogger Chantrelle said...

OK, this is on a coffee roaster

Be careful the fire and skin burn!

At 6:36 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Hmm...I can see your point. And you do have one. (thru that in for your other half, don't have one myself but have no objections to other having them, and one never knows...)

What WAS my point? I digress. And forget.

I don't want to delete forever tho. SOme of these posts might WELL be the best things I ever write. And it's great practice.

Very funny, Chantrelle. I have always wondered about labels, like the old towel rollers in washrooms..."Used improperly may cause strangulation"

I mean, who DID that, that they had to put the warning label on it???

At 6:39 PM , Blogger Phiala said...

Thanks, y'all. I appreciate it. The suddenness...

Anyway, returning the subject to more entertaining areas: I made a map to play with. Unfortunately that means it says Phiala's Fabulous Fiends, which is just wrong! But you all know what I mean, and nobody else cares. Right? And if it works, we can remake it with a proper title.

You appear to not need an account - just click on the little "join" box on the upper right corner of the map and type in a city. I think. Or you can create a free account and have an icon and stuff, and make more maps.

At 6:49 PM , Blogger Chantrelle said...

Love the map...my skull and crossbones is added :)

At 6:49 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Phiala, I think I'm not doing something right, I can't see the map or find the join button....

At 6:50 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

How come I can't add skulls and crossbones????

At 6:54 PM , Blogger Phiala said...

Lorraine, what happens when you go to that page (here)?

It should say "Fabulous Fiends" and show a map. What do you see?

At 6:56 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Same thing, it's a blank square on the left, and your name and pic on the right...No Fabulous Fiends anywhere

At 6:59 PM , Blogger Dragonsally said...

'Clean up the chaff collector' - that is cute.

I added my skull and cross bones. So much cuter than a flag

At 7:00 PM , Blogger AletaMay said...

Interesting mappy thingy.

We are Fiends! Cool! I love that you are making these tweaks on your blog, Fablo. Making it your own, you know.

That Save Changes or Delete Forever stuff really made me think...

I think mostly life is not like that -- and I am glad. The sad thing is that on those rare occasions when life is like that there is not usually a button to warn us so clearly.

I am going to get some Sparrow Quartet NOW so that I can fill my mind with the goodness held therein.

At 7:02 PM , Blogger Phiala said...

That blank square on the left should theoretically have a map in it...

At least, that's what I see, and several people have already added their skulls! (That sounds so ... wrong. *hee-hee*)

Does Flash stuff usually work for you? Does the Flash test page work?

At 7:08 PM , Blogger ivenotime said...

sadness no sound on my computer :(, will have to try later. Phiala, again, healing thoughts your way, this type of loss is brutal, hugs and sorrow for you.

Added my skull and bones to the map - cool! Lorraine, did you get yours on???? umm, your location on the map i mean

Yey, we are officially fiends, how lovely!

At 7:09 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

That would be a No on the test page, nothing animated at all. I'm on my Macbook at home now...

I want skulls too!

Aleta, Sparrow Qartet will make you happy, this I know. I really can't wait until I have my own site, rather than being scattered all over various bands....

At 7:14 PM , Blogger Rubius said...

Lorraine you may not have the latest version of flash installed. try downloading the free flash player here

At 7:15 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Trying...

At 7:15 PM , Blogger Phiala said...

Yeah that - you need to install Flash for your web browser. Should be very easy.

At 7:23 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

I'm there! I gots a Skull! I can see it!

Such clever Fiends you are!

At 7:25 PM , Blogger Phiala said...

Hooray!

You can put the map straight on your new website if you want - just let me know and I'll give you the code whenever.

At 7:33 PM , Blogger Rubius said...

The fire and skin DO burn!!! they DO... if you put them together that is.

Yikes.

At 7:33 PM , Blogger Rubius said...

and YEAH for mappy thing. I like it.

At 7:37 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

I will put it right up. Daguy the evil genius has offered to make my site, we just have to DO it. Not sure why we aren't. I'm going to make it a priority after this week and weekend are done.

Another 4 gig weekend, I believe...Kitty comes tomorrow tho, which will be fun and lots of help.

At 7:49 PM , Blogger Rubius said...

It looks like the concert is at night on the day I go back to work after VCON (I'm not really giving myself a break afterward). I may be a very tired and worn out shell of my former self by that point. hmmm. I will have to figure that out.

At 7:51 PM , Blogger Rubius said...

That's what I like to think of as 'post-con melt down stage'... barely functioning... legs a little wobbly... head still ringing.

At 7:57 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

You will need the Sparrows to help you recover. If I had to pick the Con or the Concert, I'd go with the Concert..

At 8:04 PM , Blogger AletaMay said...

Oh I definitely think I will find a way to be at a gig this weekend! I need strong drink and good music!

At 8:26 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

I hope you do come down, it's always fun when your gang is there, and I am bringing the Bagpipes for their first public outing...

At 8:30 PM , Blogger AletaMay said...

Oh the pipes the pipes are calling! I can't wait!

Also I think some of the Sparrow Quartet music would fit very well into the universe of Firefly -- that sort of mix of old west and Chinese culture...

At 8:54 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

It might well at that, it is a good mix..

I am taking these kitties and going off to bed....Too tired to think straight...

At 9:46 PM , Blogger ariandalen said...

The map is cool. :)
I added my skull and crossbones.

At 10:45 PM , Blogger Unknown said...

Phiala, I am so very very sorry for your loss. I will keep you in my thoughts.

At 10:48 PM , Blogger spacedlaw said...

On top of that, Blogger uses red for publish whereas to me red equals a STOP, so at the beginning I was saving a lot of post and not publishing most.
Love the new intro (the old one was more for the Lorraine à Malena theme).

"Used improperly may cause strangulation"? Shouldn't this warning be on every scarf?

The full sparrow quartet is on Last.fm with full tracks too. so check it out!
Having said that there was a sparrow quartet - might have been a quintet even - mocking the cats in the garden this morning. None of them had a banjo, though. It's easier to fly away, I suppose.

Exercise for Lorraine: translate (and write down) the following three sentences in French:
- My brother has some sons and daughters: I have two nieces and three nephews. All of them pests.
- My mother's sister married my uncle's son. I hope they won't have children.
- The man down the street drowned his son. Turns out the child was somebody else's son. Ooops. His brother in law's. Ooops again.

(Actually the "in laws" were missing from your lesson yesterday.)

Phiala, so sorry to hear about your friend. Awful to have the shco k as well as the grief.

On a much lighter note, however, love the map of fiends...

At 11:22 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Quiche - the new intro is great - maybe you should post post a recording so we can all play yoir evil voice welcoming us....

At 11:41 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Chantrelle;
Sparrow Quartet was on the US West Coast earlier this year, they played in Santa Barbara at the end of June. Abigail mentioned how much they like playing out there, it is just a trek for them (what am I saying, these guys have gone to China as a group TWICE!) Anyway, they will be out there again. Don't wait to get the cd, however. You won't regret it! And read her blog, even the archived stuff.

Phiala--thank you thank you thank you for the AWESOME map. It took my city (well, town) and state w/out even needing a zip code or making me fill out tons of stuff....it easily loads an avi pic. We can do messages... WOW. You did good.

At 4:04 AM , Blogger Phiala said...

At 4:11 AM , Blogger Phiala said...

Met a women in Ireland who owns a bookshop. Hi Louise! I am de-lurking you in my sleepiness! We have no skulls in Ireland yet. You must skull Ireland for us.

Did I mention Tea?

How do I translate PEST and OOPS????

Tea...

Pestes - or - Petits monstres
Oups!

At 7:29 AM , Blogger Jess said...

It took me a minute to realise you were talking about the map. :D I thought you'd gone off on some gorgeous, surrealist poetry tangent:

We have no skulls
in Ireland yet;
you must skull
Ireland for us.
Come out of shadows
and skull Ireland.
Put a skull
on the ground.

The more you type "skull," the more wrongerererer it looks.

At 7:32 AM , Blogger spacedlaw said...

I had a brief moment thinking I'd never realized Irish people did not have skulls and that it must make them ideal victims for head hunters...

At 7:33 AM , Blogger Dread Val said...

Quiche, don't forget I want to help with the site, too! :) And I finally have made enough headway on all the paying projects that I can start tackling all the free ones, like your site and the shirts for here and Merry Housekeeper's flyer, and whatever it was Malena wanted… Oh, and don't forget to show Kitty and Boss the painting! :) I will send bribes of mangoes and chocolate and tea…

I added myself to the map -- Stacy, I had no idea you lived in Orange -- that's where I moved from; lived there for 17 years.

Will go check out skull jewelry now. And drink coffee. :)

begat its own pile,

and then another,
and another and one more.
And Backup Fairy

threw up her tiny
hands, and said: Bugger this for

It's so nice to know we all have a home and it's right here! We need to keep track of these gems in the lexicon.

You know you've made it somewhere when you become a verb.

I skulled
You skull
We skull
They skulled

I missed the part to put the picture with my skull but rather like when you click on the skulls they turn orange and smile at you.
Very cool

How cartographically delicious!

Phiala, may your tears turn to laughter soon,
life is a short mystery, isn't it? I have an on-going deal with my Dad, whichever one of us goes first is going to attempt in any way to contact the other. Takes the finality off death for me, we made this deal when i was much younger, and it helped me face certain truths. My Dad, he is a genius.

Now! to packing! Quiche, i hope you have everything i need, because i can tell I gonna forget lots.... we can always Shop.

Arwen well done, it will be a tab on the new site!

I'm one of the confusing ones. I put my first and last name like the little boxes told me and my skull does not say Chantrelle. I can't figure out how to delete. I guess i could just skull-again on top of the "real" name skull. Is that like a Mulligan? Can i call Skulligan!

I see Sparrow Quartet has hit california but Santa Barbara is about 4 hours from me. I need a San Francisco area visit! Maybe they're following our Fiending and Skulling and they'll book a show for moi. (hey, there's my french!)

Arwenn, good luck with unraveling the origins of the Voodoo Wasp/Bengal Alliance. ;) I'd ask Dan. Cabal's Cabal is simple, as we are straightforward. We like belly rubs, faffing about in the sun, and plotting. Changing our name is just too much work, really.

I need to find something like an oversized apothocary cabinet to keep Mr. Jess's massive collection of playing cards in. (He has well over 300 decks. I kid you not.) Anyone know where I can get one on short notice? :D

Very fun Jess!

Yes, Louisa, do you have a website? Good question...

Is there a way to put this Skull map into a blog entry, so people who haven't found the comments, or made it thru, can see it? DO tell, and don't tell me it's easy!!!!!

(Actually, come to think on it, it is easy isn't it, just link...Sigh, long day no where near over..)

Another funny dyslexic moment: Stacy, when you said "down anymore as my own eyeballs" I first read it as "does anyone have my eyeballs?" As long as I am not being tested this particular disorder can be quite fun.

Aletamay, Saturday is probably better for me but don't change any plans based on that. The likelihood that my Ex will be willing to watch M is slim-to-none and my regular sitter works Friday and Sat nights. I will keep my fingers crossed and let you know if either night looks promising.

I mean I know there was one but just in case people are starting from the bottom of the comments. :D

Gayle, what is this being helpful thing? People have to EARN their skulls - this is the penalty for getting behind.

Oh, okay, I suppose they can play anyway.

Q, I just emailed you the fancy way to include it. At least according to them it should work...

At 2:42 PM , Blogger gaypet said...

Hee hee. Sorry Phiala, I'm a Cancer. Can't be helped. ;)

Hi, Louisa!

I spent far too much time last night reading some of the original posts. Let me just say, Ms. Fabulous, you got a really strange view of Texas. I, honestly, have never seen anyone wear a pink cowboy hat, particularly the shade of pink of your hat. ::shaking head::

Last night I had a song, jingle really, come into my head. Do any of you remember a certain cereal in the early to mid 1970s named "The Freakies?" It may also have been a Saturday morning cartoon. As I recall, the cereal came out after Count Chocula, Frankenberry and Booberry cereals. Anyway, this is what my mind has done with that theme song:

Who are Lorraine's Fiends?
We are Lorraine's Fiends,
and this is our Fiendish song.

At 3:43 PM , Blogger Chantrelle said...

I don't remember that jingle but, man, did I love the Frankenberry as a kid! At some point around age 9 or 10 they stopped carrying it around here...it was a dark day.

At 3:59 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Thanks for the tips, I will try tonight when I get home and see if it pops up for us, my skullish Fiends!

Adriandale, I didn't have much choice in the matter of what I wore for that gig. They said Pink Cowboy Hat, I said, love it!

People who pay like they were can call the shots in the matter of wardrobe..Malena has it now, I believe.

At 4:01 PM , Blogger Dragonsally said...

Oh Fods I love you fiends, you are the best pain killers ever....my mouth is sulking after a visit to the dentist yesterday and a big filling in a molar..and y'all made my mouth smile!

Hi Louise...another Whedon and Black Books fan. Yah.

Thanks to one & all for the effusive welcome, I'm all warm 'n' tingly!

chantrelle - laugh long & hard at BB, my personal favorite is The Elephant & The Balloon story. VLC media player works a treat for watching DVDs from different regions; easy to download and use.

pantagruel - the question is if you're like Bernard when you're drinking *at* work? As the counter in my store is reminiscent of a bar, the suggestion was made that I put up a list of shots using authors' names so customers could come in after a hard day's work and say, "Gimme a double Dostoyevsky."

I do have a website - www.ravenbooks.ie - sadly neglected at the moment as I work on updating it to a shiny new interactive "buy-able" site. This (ad)venture is still very much in its infancy and I haven't yet revealed to the masses my cunning plans to take over the world one bookshop at a time [and cue evil laugh] mwahahahahahahaha...d'oh!

At 4:04 PM , Blogger Dragonsally said...

How do I add my piccie to the map?

At 4:05 PM , Blogger Dread Val said...

I can neither confirm nor deny if I drink while at work.

;)

At 4:07 PM , Blogger Dragonsally said...

Sorry for the comment spam - I meant to add, Phiala, I'm really sorry to hear about your friend. What an awful thing for his family..and friends but the decisions they face. My heart bleeds for them.

At 4:07 PM , Blogger Chantrelle said...

I can't wait to watch all the BB episodes again, we quote it incessantly really! We can watch "wrong" region DVDs on the computer, it's just getting the computer to display onto TV or projector that's the pain in the patootie. We only drink the cheap and dusty wine while watching it of course...the kind with all the colors---well, yellow.

I finally made it through the soup night dishes ... i was a bit slow moving. Thank Fod for dishwashers, the person who invented those should have sainthood.

At 4:10 PM , Blogger Chantrelle said...

I too meant to comment to Phiala. That really adds so much grief to an already horrid situation. Last year we had to make the decision to terminate a pregnancy where the baby had no chance of survival outside my body but we still had to say "yes, terminate"...it adds guilt to grief and loss. It's horrible. I so feel for you and them and the family. :(

At 5:17 PM , Blogger gaypet said...

Oh FOD, Chantrelle! I honestly can't imagine.

At 5:25 PM , Blogger Chantrelle said...

Sorry, I didn't meant to turn this post around to me. I almost deleted that as soon as I posted it but then thought, well, it may have already been read, too late probably.

I was just trying to say I can relate.

Nevermind me...i'm going to make some hopefully yummy dinner: Pan fried snapper w/ sauteed spinach in a miso vinaigrette. :)

At 5:26 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Val, you make me laugh!

Region Zero DVD players have come down so in price that what we do now...

I am so glad you are here Lousia!

Chartrelle, very hard. I can't know. And Phiala you too.

Off to pick up Kitty, will post later tonight. Hurrah!

At 6:24 PM , Blogger Phiala said...

Pantagruel - but we can speculate on your drinking at work even without your confirmation.

Dragonsally - you need to add the photo when you create the skull - I can edit names and such, but can't add photos. The best I can do for you seems to be to delete the duplicate after you add a new point with photos. Sorry, not more help.

Chantrelle, that must have been an incredibly hard decision, even with no real options. Thank you for sharing.

Louisa, hi! I was in Dublin a couple years ago, and even bought some books, but mostly from museums.

I talked to my close friend who is close friends with Morghun and his family. It's very hard on all of them, and she's much closer to the family than I am. Hard on everyone, though. Thanks once again, all, for the kind words. Im sitting here with a wee drop of very good Scotch (from the Glasgow duty-free, no less). Not good when your toast was, "No more dead friends for a while", as it's been a hard year around here.

Changing the subject completely: Our local public library is wonderful! I just got back from a free hour-long Celtic concert, by The Muses, a perfectly good bar band who had to work a bit to keep the jokes and songs appropriate for a library audience. Heh. :)

At 6:46 PM , Blogger Jess said...

That sounds fun, Phiala. I wish I'd spent more time at Schlow-- I went to a few readings there and it seemed like a cool place. I ended up hanging round Pattee all the time, though. Yawn!

Hugs to you and Chantrelle. I'm glad this is such a safe place for people to open up if they need to. You're all great people. :)

Wishing all of you a good night, pleasant dreams, and fiendish, erm, things. Skull ya later! (Is that an acceptable use of the verb? Oops. Too late now.)

At 7:15 PM , Blogger Stacy Hurt said...

Jess; we should say it like 'Word' and follow it with a hand signal. In our case; a typed symbol. Let's see; what looks like a skull & crossbones on the keyboard *looks down; moves cat who is head butting me & drooling; /@\... no
mmmm.... \%/...no tsk! stupid keys! Not enough fun ones I say! I think I need a board that's all in Chinese. THAT would be soooo cool!

Oh FODS! What is php, asp scripting?

At 7:15 PM , Blogger Stacy Hurt said...

oh; no 'greater than; lesser than' arrow thingys.

At 7:40 PM , Blogger gaypet said...

8-DX

Seems a skull-and-crossbones kind of thing. Or maybe I am just supposed to be writing a paper on antisemitism in Renaissance England and would rather not.

At 7:44 PM , Blogger gaypet said...

Oh and drinking at work, I mean who hasn't? :P Val, I think it may be that you and I would have lots of fun and a VERY expensive bar tab if we every get the chance to hang out.

Q, hurray for the visiting of Kitty! Hi Kitty. I think Spooky House has got to be Spooky Cat House. NO, not like that. Just lots of cats and Kitty. :)

At 7:46 PM , Blogger gaypet said...

I am going to write my paper tomorrow. Must sleep now.

Sleep well all. Or, of course if you are on the other side of the planet, good morning.

At 8:05 PM , Blogger Dread Val said...

Just because my office at Saltmine U. is blocks from both a brewery and a pub... Sheesh. My old office was directly across the street from the pub, but we got moved.

Spoilsports.

Chantrelle, that can't have been easy; and I don't think anyone thought you were playing the Misery Olympics at all.

Quiche, good luck picking Kitty up from the airport!

At 8:10 PM , Blogger Dread Val said...

Gayle, the bar tab will indeed be epic in June when we all get together. Speaking of bars, where's Paul taken himself off to these days?

How about CX for the skull and crossbones?

At 9:16 PM , Blogger ariandalen said...

Well...I've been sitting here for 20 minutes, at least, trying to think of something supportive to say to Phiala and Chantrelle that doesn't sound like, "me, too." ::sigh:: :(

I also can't believe that I'm the only fiend that remembers The Freakies. They danced with canes while singing their jingle,
Who are the Freakies?
We are the Freakies,
And this is our Freaky Song.

Oh, well. I guess I'll chalk it up to my trivia retaining brain.
;)

At 9:29 PM , Blogger ariandalen said...

Ms. Fabulous, were you perhaps standing next to a lamp with the same type of fringe as the chair in the photo of Princess Kali with the mystery tentacles?

At 9:49 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Epic bar tab indeed! (shakes head...)

No, wasn't near any fringe, those were tentacles I am telling you!

I am home from getting Miss Kitty, and the Bengals are shredding my sunroom blinds in celebration. Not sure WHY they are doing this....

AM going to try and inbed our map onto a post. (INbed, wishful typo...)

At 9:55 PM , Blogger Rubius said...

I don't remember it Ariandalen, but I think you mean this

Chantrelle, I have to agree with Val, it didn't sound like Misery Olympics.

Lorraine, I think the tendrils look A LOT like hair... cat hair, quiche hair, stray hair, ghost hair... who knows.

Amidst all this sadness I admit to being OVERJOYED by Malena's latest post at her blog

At 9:55 PM , Blogger Dragonsally said...

Are you sure that you didn't have a Dalek peering over your shoulder. Certainly looks like Dalek tentacles the more I think about it.

At 10:01 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

It wasn't hair, no hair nearby...Might have been a Dalek, stranger things have happened..

At 10:09 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Phiala, the imbedding is not working , all that shows up is code? Ideas? Try again???

At 10:13 PM , Blogger AletaMay said...

Maybe you are already doing this but...

When you go to make the new post click on the tag that says "edit html" and past the code in there rather than in the "compose" box you usually use.

Not that you asked me. But I am here about to go to bed so I thought I'd try to help.

At 10:22 PM , Blogger spacedlaw said...

Why are then doing this?
Because they CAN.
Give a big hug to Kitty for us.

Rushing off for three days in 9 minutes.
Don't break the Internet, `kay?

At 10:34 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

I do compose in the HTML tab, so sadly, that's not the trouble...Must wait for Phiala or some other evil genius, I posted anyway and will add Skull when I can...

We'll miss you ,Nathilie! Come back soon, and have fun trying to catch up...

(MMMwwhahahah!)

At 10:35 PM , Blogger Dread Val said...

Quiche, try using the html mode to create your post instead of the text mode -- text mode won't recognize a lot of HTML. Then again, Blogger does not like to recognize a lot of HTML; it sort of pretends it's suddenly busy and has to leave the room. (Definitely, it's persnickety with which HTML it allows in comments, that's for damn sure.)

Glad you are home safe with Kitty. :) How nice of the Bengals to redecorate as a coming-home present to their friend! Please give Kitty a big hug from me!

And yes, definitely an epic bar tab. But never fear, if that happens, I won't be driving, which ought to make Certain People happy…

At 10:36 PM , Blogger Dread Val said...

Or, just forget what I said about HTML mode, then. Just tested, and it is teh suck.

At 10:38 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

HA! Like everyone on the road , Val! (Hee-hee!)

I do type in the HTML area, it just didn't work.

Rats. I wanted Skulls.

At 10:38 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...
