Late Night and Sleepy..
Hello, my Fiends,
This is not the post I had planned today, but as they say, the best laid plans of mice and men...I kind of feel like the last few days have sort of blended into one sort of long day. And now am here, home from my gig, and awake. I've been keeping up on the comments today and loving it more than you can know, you are the best! Truly...A majorly stressed and busy Assistant-girl thanks you.
The lunch yesterday with the Beowulf contest winners went off just fine, despite some delays. Boss has a broken finger, and it had to be ex-rayed, and getting someone off on a book tour is not an easy task. I think the only harder one might be the person DOING the book tour.
It got kind of funny this lunch, I met the winners at the hotel, delightful people all, and we limo'd over to the Greek to Me place, and all went well, but Kitty and I were pretty much non-stop on the Blackberry's answering last minute questions and the funniest, for me, was us sitting there , schedules and pens and phones, and her saying , "I have to call our limo" and me saying, "I am on the phone, call mine too..."
You have to laugh sometimes.
Today didn't much stop. Curve balls hourly. And then gig. But you do it. And do it again tomorrow.
Thanks Fiends, for being there....
Love and sleep,
Lorraine

Wow, I'm amazed you found time to post at all, with so much else to keep track of.
I hope you've managed to sleep, and get a little time to catch your breath before you have to do the next thing (whatever that will be)
Lots of supportive vibes heading your way :-)
Hopefully, with Boss now packed away, you might have a little more time to breathe. "Hopefully" being the operative - and tentative - word here.
Am sending virtual restorative lullabies your way.
Hugs.
No, of course it is much more work for you who are organizing and smoothing and spinning the webs.
That is the point. He just has to go from A to B, sign things and be himself. Which I'm sure can tire him out (being himself alone, and with Maddy at that)
But you and Kitty are the Heavy Haulers here, and don't you forget it. Many years hotel concierge, remember? So I KNOW whereof I speak! It is because you are so good at what you do...
Hence the well-earned exhaustion.
And that you have the energy for creativity and music (wait, aren't those the same thing?) on top of that all...
That is why you are the Fabulous.
I hope all goes well today! And that you got sleep.
M and I are going to the Raptor Release party. Should be great fun. Then more moving to be done.
To those of you who will be at the show tonight, I will be haunting. Can't go in the flesh but will be there non-the-less. :)
Oh, I can't even believe you posted after all of that. :-) You should be in bed, sleeping.
Q, you're amazing - I'm tired just reading about all you do. Well, that and because I'm sick. :(
But it's rainy here, and I have the perfect excuse to spend some time curled up on the couch, dog at my feet, cat on my lap, umpteenth cup of tea perched on the windowsill.
Except that I really should be writing...
I can hardly imagine what it's like to be a personal assistant. Admittedly, I don't think I could be in your position with much cheer for very long, no matter how much I liked my boss.
Hoping you get some rest!,
~Emily
Gayle -- I'll share a toast with your spirit at Charlie's tonight!
Lorraine -- you deserve to be tired and to sleep for many hours of restful bliss. I am really looking forward to tonight's show. I need some good music and I am not driving tonight so watch out... there may be tequila consumed.
Ginger Snap wants to be on top of my printer. No. Not allowed.
I just went downstairs to help with a computer problem and my godchild and her friend were doing Irish dance to some fiddle music. They were good!
Makes me want tonight to be here now!
Truly a day of rest here at Spookyhaus, and I needed it. Looking forward to playing tonght and seeign people. And I will remember the pipes!!!
(Is that a threat or a promise???)
Hope everyone else is having a fine day too....I think having gotte up, I m going to eat then nap, ahh the joy of it.....
This sounds more or less like what I have done all day...
:)
Have a great gig tonight and good piping.
The Raptor Release was great! M was impatient as there was a lot of talking before the birds were let go but when they were released one of the broad-winged hawks flew right by us. Really cool.
Sounds great, Gayle. I love raptors and am always thrilled when Sharon has some on her blog.
Glad te raptor release went well! Sounds like fun.
My day of relax and nap is done and I am off to the gig, which out to be fun as well.
I had good news today from the vet, Poor Cabal has been most unwell, vomiting everything and has been spending a couple days with the U of M vet, but he looks like he is going to be ok, Fod knows what he ate, but he's ok, and going to see a nutrtion person next week, to see about his diet.
All good news, they had feared something muh worse...
Oh Q, that is such good news! We lost our Linus (a Shepherd as well) to a turned stomach. Good to hear it is not something like that. I am SO happy to hear things are looking up!!!
Break-a-leg tonight.
Oh poor Cabal, being sick and having the Boss go away again. I hope it all ens up being something totally innocuous. Shiraz and Mulder send him big doggy smoochies.
Hope your gig went well and you get some rest time today.
I was researching the band books thing for my class. I am happy to say that I own 4 of the "10 Most Challenged books of the 20th Century". I will certainly have to get the other 6. Of course # 1 is the "Harry Potter series" (which I have of course) so that messes up the #'s a bit.
One of the books on the list is called "It's Perfectly Normal" which is a book for kids about sexual development. I bought it some time last year and it's great. M is not interested in it yet but it is on the shelf for when he is. I am sad for people who are threatened by information. I understand why, but it makes me sad.
How is everybody's Sat night? Those of us NOT AT THE SHOW! :(
*sob*
@Lorraine-I hope you did remember the pipes, and that it was great.Poor Cabal. I'm glad it isn't anything serious.
Saturday night and I am by myself watching stuff on the dvr as sweetie is off at a meeting. New Knight Rider(I know, i know) TSTL.
nadine who cannot sign in for some reason.
Lorraine - Hope you were able to rest and then ROCK!
Performed an amazingly sweet, special, beautiful wedding today. I was proud to officiate that - to be a part of it at all.
Not much here now. It was movie/popcorn night with ben and my parents are here. We're going to see Neil Diamond tomorrow night...yeah, we're so cool!! :)
Awwww, poor Cabal!
I am glad to know he is all right now.
And since we are already the 28th on this side of the planet, I'd like to wish a happy birthday to Kali-licious (our co-fiend, not the new kitty).
They did think it was turned stomache, I am very glad it was not! He comes home toorow and I am so happy, I miss him more than I would have thought...
It is weird that books are baned, or get banned. I don't get it myself.
Chantrelle, what a lovely thing to do! Making people happy...
Hey, Nadine who can't comment as herself, bad TV is the best! My Tivo is FILLED with bad TV!
Did rock, and since I am awake, I am going to go and write about it...
Yepee!
Does Cabal run around a lot after he has eaten? When we got Shiraz we were warned by the Dalmatian Association and our vets to make sure she stayed quiet for at least an hour after eating. Apparently Dallies and other larger dogs are prone to twisted tummies if they are too active after eating.
Easier said than done keeping a dog quiet when it wants to go silly.
They mentioned that, but he is so weird about food, I am not sure, he really isn't into food. We are seeig a Nutritional person next week and see if we can't help things.....
There. Did my new blog, so you awake folks go and read about tonight, which at this late hour is most likely Austriala and Nathilie...I am for bed soon truly...
WOOT! I am a whole continent!
Poor Cabal! I'm so glad he's okay. Please give him ear scritches and belly rubs from me when you see him next; not like he will know, really, but hey.
Also glad you got some sleep. Now to catch up on the other post...
Now that the RoboPanda is delivered I can get a little more sleep myself. You wouldn't think a RoboPanda would be a source of insomnia, but it's glowing blue eyes were haunting...
Plus I had to build that box for it. And was anxious about the hand-off.
You'll have to play with it when it arrives, Quiche! I left it running while I made the box and it does a lot of stuff that wasn't in the product description. Like freaking out when Baby Nathan stole it's stuffed panda teddy, wailing, "Teddy?! Teddy?! Where are you?!?" and then sitting down to cry.
I wonder what Cabal will think of it. Hehehe.
Should I fear this Panda???????
I think it needs your love. And don't let the Bengal Bloc steal its teddy.
Danguy, I am getting nervous here...Am I to TEND this Paanda? And it, uh, needs my love????
The Bengals will not get near it, if you think it is coming to the Spookyhaus you are sadly mistaken....
Lorraine, I don't know if you should be scared of the panda, but I'm definitely scared! And to the best of my knowledge, I've never even been in the same state as the demonic thing, nor will I be!
