Happy Birthday Dr Score!

First things first...If you are reading this tonight (Tuesday) tomorrow is Paul's (our own Dr. Score) Birthday!!!!! SO we need to send him some Very Many Happy Returns of the Day! If you are reading this tomorrow, Today is Paul's Birthday! Wish him well!

(if you are reading the Thursday, long after we have moved on, Keep up or get culled from the pack, hee-hee)

Today was a Honey Extraction Day (see, you science types, I know some big words too!) There was some sort of Snaffu (another technicial Bee Term) at the extractio plant, so we decided to do it the old fashioned way. A bucket and cheese cloth.

This is the poor sad honey from the failed hive. We got the bees a new home and are totaly stealing all the honey they made. AND today I regestared for our very own X County Fair! Oh yes, blue ribbons in both our classes! I separated the dark honey and the light and combined a couple, so we can taste and figure out which is the best. It would be a lovely end to such a great hive.

This is all a very sticky business. Tomorrow I have to Moosh the buckets. (another techicial Bee Term) meaning Moosh them down so the honey gets thru. I could have done this today but I had reached the point of Done, before I got to it. Then I will take what is left after the honey is gone, called "Slumglum" and boiled it to extract the wax, and then use it to make, well things. No, don't know what yet. Or how.

Took the Bengals out. Venus met a dog and bee-lined for the house. Mim got stuck in a tree. Took Cabal to Doggie Day Care while the Grouting was going on, and the Trainer said he was kind of sad no one would play with him. One dog his size was too old and the others too little. So his school expeirence might mirror ours...

Love and Bees and Life,
Lorraine

Honey. Yum.

Just heard that there has been another truck of bees spill.

Is it my imagination or is this happening a lot lately??

Happy Birthday Dr. Score!!

Good luck with your fair entry (egads, it IS that time of year already isn't it?) Did youi garden this year? Ours is horribly behind (bad weather), and I feel like I'm getting a taste of what it must be like for you more northern zones.

Awww... poor Cabal. I think my guys would fall into the "too small" category. Jack is probably about half the size of Cabal's head.

What goes with this Bee Truck Spilling??? Do trucks with bees spill more often than regular trucks??

And why weren't the Birdchick and I called??????

Venus is, uh, still expressing her opinion on the Dog Incident tonight. I don't know how to break it to her that I do not control the outside world.

WIll have to convince the Neighbors to give up the dog, I guess....

We did garden and are, many thanks Maureen, and it is doing really wll. Once we got the Scaresquirt out to keep the rabbits from eating the peas..

Salsa will happen.

At 9:08 PM , Blogger ivenotime said...

mmmm salsa, yum! HAAPPPY DAY OF BIRTH PAUL!! i too will buy you the beverage of your choice if i am lucky enough to hear you play again. Beeswax! wonderful moldable beeswax - love it for casting, so much nicer to use than victory brown wax, which is a petroleum byproduct. But boy, it sounds like alot of work - i hope the honey is amazing and you do well at the fair. Cabal should come play with tank - corgis do not understand they are dwarfs, and are fully convinced they are every bit as big as the Big Dogs.

Happy birthday, Paul! (it's already Wednesday over here). I'll also get you a drink next time we meet. (because I'll be back).

I bet Venus in wondering in which neighbourhood she has been brought in and telling you off for living in those slums where it's a dog eats cat life.

I know you'll do fine with the fair.

Happy Happy Birthday Dr Score:)

Mmmmmmm honey..wonder what flowers made the darker stuff dark? Honey extraction sounds like hard work though. Beeswax makes great candles and is a great base for lotions and cosmetics. I'm sure Malena can help you decide what you wanna do with the wax. (Plus, total excuse for a visit;)

Salsa sounds good as well..someday I wanna make some so that I can stop depending on jars of Newman's Own and Trader Joe's.

Venus is such a diva.."Mooooom..make the dog go away!" lol I take it Mim got down safely? Poor Cabal..I bet my Mom's little Yorkie would play with him..that dog is completely fearless. All 8 pounds of him.

Happy Birthday Dr. Score. Hope it's a grand day!

It's so cutesad that Cabal is having a school experience that mirrors our collective experience. Poor doggie, but it's clearly a sign that he's a complex pooch with a rich inner life. Or something.

As for Venus thinking you control the outside world, Lorraine? No, she knows you don't control the WHOLE of the outside world ... just the parts that distress her. SHE controls the rest. Hee.

Hippo, Birdies, Dr. Score,
Hippo, Birdies, Two Ewes!

And many more!

Because you really need a menagerie. ;)

As far as "glow in the dark" stuff, I know there is glow in the dark fabric paint, nail polish, and make up. It stands to reason that somewhere there is probably a spray on glow in the dark hair color. You can also buy glow in the dark beads in pink, orange, yellow, green, blue and white. I bought some for my daughters at Wally World. Halloween merchandise is beginning to show up in the stores, so keep your eyes open.

Ms. Fabulous, have you looked into Cafepress? I haven't, but maybe that's the direction to go for tees and such. Just a thought.

As for my education, my parents were very involved. I was very fortunate in my schooling, and attended private schools after we moved to Waco and my third grade class had the same spelling words as my younger brother's first grade class. I was such an overachiever that I thought my parents would give me a spanking for getting a B in Math the first six weeks of third grade. It never crossed their minds as my problem was that I had never been given speed tests in Math. Both private schools I went to, fourth through sixth grades then junior and senior high, emphasized mastery of a subject. This meant taking lots of tests, so you get over test anxiety pretty fast. I knew a lot of kids who really struggled in junior and senior high to make Bs, then went back to public school and made easy As. Maybe I'll write more about it later. Right now I need to go to bed.

Off to send an ecard.

Happy Birthday, Paul! One of these days I must get up there to come visit and catch up on all the long-postponed drinking and music-listening and maybe mural-painting? (*nudges Quiche*)

Poor Cabal. Tell him his Cabal is happy to play with him anytime and we all love him.

At 7:53 AM , Blogger scored4life said...

Thanks for the (Irish) well wishes! I look forward to a time where we can all sit, relax, and enjoy each others company. Good people here indeed!

Today will be a fabulous day filled with the creation of many microscope slides and timed enzymatic staining reactions. (Oooohh.... Aaaahhhh...)

Sometime later tonight I hope to have a drink or two and perhaps a game of darts, but I don't have any solid plans yet.

Lorraine, I have to get out there and see this bee setup soon. If you would be inclined, I would love to bring my kids out some weekend and make it a little educational jaunt (unbeknownst to them, moo-who-ha!)

Does anyone else see a strange correlation between the number of bees that are said to be "disappearing" and the increase in large trucks FILLED with bees crashing??? A bee smuggling conspiracy, me thinks.

At 9:54 AM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Hmm, I called you Pail in my sleepy post....Nice Birthday Haikus you are getting. Fod likes Haiku, I think.

That's JUST what I thought! Trucks keep crashing, bees keep disappearing...What sort of evil plan is this???

Cabal is at Doggie Day Care again today, and hopefully, someone will play with him...Freck is coming tomorrow for a two day sleep over, and Freck likes him and wants to do nothing BUT play with him.

Val, no murals this summer, it's all about the gardens, when I have any "Spare" time at any rate, but someday I will get my mural. I have a friend here who is after me for the same thing and I keep saying, someday...

Paul, would love to have the kids out, and I think we could do the boys, but not yr daughter, at least if you want them to SEE the hives and go into them.

(It's an available Bee Suit thing, yr little girl is too little for our littlest bee suit That would be SO cute tho!.)

At 10:12 AM , Blogger Dread Val said...

I keep forgetting you have this thing called 'snow,' prohibiting doing stuff outside. :) You just let me know when is good, and I'll come out. It may seem like a silly thing, but you just cannot do a mural here without it being graffitied over minutes after you've put it up. Which is sad, because I've wanted to do a mural for years. Le sigh. But soon I will have paid off my debt from my divorce, and once again have money to travel.

At 10:30 AM , Blogger scored4life said...

Yes, wonderful Haikus indeed! Thank you Rubius. I especially liked how you worked agar in there and I do indeed enjoy playing music. Just a little yin for my yang, or is that the other way around?

I will definitely do a few rails of scotch with you pantagruel when you make it to town. I would recommend the summer months unless you are seeking contrast. And by your comments can I infer that eventually there is something other than poverty after divorce (he asks hopefully)?

Lorraine, aside from the suits, I know they would really enjoy just seeing the process of honey collecting / processing. JoHanna would look fabulous in a little bee suit though.

At 11:19 AM , Blogger Dread Val said...

Paul, I'll let you know in two months, when I'm done paying everything off (All $45K of it. Sigh). But I do see a light at the end of the tunnel, yes.

I dunno, I think it would be nice to see the northern version of Fall, Winter, and Spring, as opposed to LA's seasons of Fire and Flood. Woods would be nice to see. So would snow falling. I would dig that. But yes, much scotch will be drunk! I'm counting on you to keep a running tally of how much I, as the Designated Drinker, need to drink.

At 11:41 AM , Blogger Phiala said...

Happy Birthday Paul! May your timed enzymatic staining reactions be properly colored and illuminating. Well, not self-illuminating, unless they are supposed to be. (I'm soooo not a bench biologist!)

Speaking of self-illuminating, though, you can indeed get glow-in-the-dark hair stuff!!! Firefly hair all around. And for those of you deficient in the hair department, I'd be happy to paint glowing designs on your heads.

At 11:45 AM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Yes, winter does tend to change things up here. You and Paul are going to need to get rooms for after the gig, just keep him ok enough to PLAY during the show, ok?

I think they boys would like to see the hives inside. Handling Bees changes you, in a really good way, and makes you very strong. Please do bring them all, it would be fun.

Paul needs glowing designs on his head. Chicks dig that, Paul, you should go for it. (not that there aren't hundreds of women throwing themselves at you now...)

At 11:55 AM , Blogger Phiala said...

Hey, do y'all know March of Cambreadth? Much more fun than the unicorn song...

You must. And if somehow not, you need to learn it! It appears to be on last.fm and is by Heather Alexander.

At 12:01 PM , Blogger Dread Val said...

Phiala, is that the one with the lines about 'Midnight mare, blood-red roan/ fight to keep this land our own' and 'Kill those bastards 'til they die'?

I promise that if I go drinking with Paul, we will be good. Is he a lightweight or something? I will do my best to round up all the available women in the pub for him. After that, 'good' is all a matter of perspective, I suppose.

At 12:13 PM , Blogger Phiala said...

Yeah, that one "Axes flash, broadswords swing..." Very violent! I have it stuck in my head today for some reason...

At 12:39 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

We don't know it, but I will go listen. If possible. Last FM hates me. It took away my playlist, and my recommendations thingie.

No, Paul can drink with the best of them. You guys just sounded pretty serious, hee-hee.

(For the record: Paul drinks responsibly during shows and it has never affected his performance in any way. As far as I can tell anyway.)

At 12:45 PM , Blogger scored4life said...

I grabbed the tune off iTunes so I'll get it done, and done right.

Their trajectories must be WAY off if they are throwing themselves. That would explain the distant thudding sounds though.

Yes, I manage to hold my own. It take only once to understand that the more you drink the better I sound, but the more I drink, the better I think I sound.

The Fall is truly a magical season here. One of my favorite activities is to go off on some winding road on my motorcycle and just get lost. But that said, I relish every moment of summer we get here!

At 12:52 PM , Blogger spacedlaw said...

Sounds lovely... I love Fall in the woods: all the colours and the smell (childhood memories).

At 1:22 PM , Blogger gaypet said...

I would say that visiting this area is best in the Fall. Winter is actually fun too WHEN YOU ARE VISITING and can go home. Fall is my favorite season here. The woods are magical when the leaves start to fall and the air turns crisp.

Pantagruel, you really must visit. It is really wonderful here in late Sept early Oct; bugs are mostly gone, sky is beautifully gray and the leaves are red and orange. If you decide to travel in the winter though you will still have fun.

At 2:08 PM , Blogger Rubius said...

I can second that... it was beautiful in the winter too.

Fall would be lovely.

Paul, that sounds so nice... there is nothing quite like that type of freedom.

Where have they BEEN is what I want to know....

Does anyone know how you ask someone to be your friend?

(Knock it OFF, hee-hee, you KNOW I mean Last FM, Paul!)

At 3:03 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Hmmph. Not so urgent on the Friend thing. It seems the person I wanted to be my friend is Dead.

Not that I'm biased, mind you, but I don't think she is going to respond via a Last FM request.

I still want to know how tho, Hera is there! She will be my friend.

At 3:08 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

OK. I am going to take the dog for a long walk.

Heather is not dead, she just became a guy, apparently, and played in a band called Phoenyx, which I think Emma and I played with once, and I think I met him.

Well. Glad she didn't exactly die.

At 3:37 PM , Blogger Dread Val said...

Well, if he's a serious drinker, then all is well. But I'll still shamelessly go around the pub and try to round up the single women and pimp him out!

Glad Last.fm has started working again for you. ;)

Why must everyone want to suddenly have a meeting with me today?!

At 3:53 PM , Blogger Rubius said...

hmmm... not dead... just not a girl anymore. Well... all things change.

Paul... what kind of bike do you have? Can you tell, I am a wannabe biker chick.

At 6:42 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Paul rides a 1952 Vincent Black Lightning. He likes girls with red hair (or blonde or brunette or black) and black leather.

He killed many a man to get his Vincent Machine...

I would do a new post but it would go like this:

Cabal made a friend at Doggie Day Care. I walked 4 miles in the above 80 heat. I have no brain and am going to lie on the couch with Anne McCafferty and drink huge amounts of water, and wait for you all to post witty and entertaining things to me.

At 6:57 PM , Blogger Phiala said...

Grendel says he would be happy to play with Cabal, if only they were a bit closer. He is of course a confirmed member of the Cabal Cabal - tummy rubs, you know!

I don't have anything witty and entertaining to say, as I'm lolling around recovering from a particularly unpleasant dr visit this afternoon and trying to keep the cat from jumping on me. (Nothing major, but trust me, you do NOT want details.)

But I'd be happy to be entertained by anyone who is feeling witty!

At 7:13 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Phiala, I think you should let the cat jump on you and url up with your Wolf, after a day like that. We don't need details, but you have my sympathy!

I have no wit, alas tonight, just that wisdom.

At 7:22 PM , Blogger Phiala said...

Well, the cat and the wolf can curl up next to me... the jumping on is not so happy tonight. And the wolf never gets to jump on me, he's much, much too large!

I believe I'm off to do just that, and curl up with the critters in front of the fan (to counteract all the excess heat and fur-insulation). Apparently I'll have to wake them both up to get them to go to bed... lazy, they are!

At 7:38 PM , Blogger AletaMay said...

I seem to have lost my witty bone today. Sorry. What a beautiful day -- if you were sitting on the porch not if you were walking many miles.

Autumn here is wonderful and summer is precious. Winter, IMO, sucks when you have to drive in it but is lovely to look at. Spring is far too short most years but after the long winter it is such a beautiful thing. Autumn is by far my favorite -- everything about it.

Yup. There is some sort of bee smuggling thing going on for sure. And it is an interesting coincidence that these accidents with bees are happening when the X-Files movie is about to come out. :nods:

At 7:46 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

I myself am covered in Bengals right now, with the AC on, something I will regret when I get the bill...

The X Files will explain the Bees to us. Yes. Or Daguy will.

Fall is the best. Driving in winter is not so fun, and there are all those snow parking tickets. Spring is nice but takes it's own sweet time, until all in a day it is summer, and you have to move fast....

At 7:53 PM , Blogger AletaMay said...

Phiala -- sorry you had an unpleasant Dr. visit. I have had several of those in the past year and a half and what amazes me is that neither my cat or my sister-in-law's dog (I recuperated a couple of times at their house) tried to jump on me when they shouldn't they stayed very close but seemed to know the limits. Very interesting. I am glad you are up to cuddling with them though. That is always good healing!

At 8:06 PM , Blogger ariandalen said...

Walking in the heat, especially if the humidity is high, is no fun. I get up at 6 AM to walk a mile just so the temperature is below 90, though it's also so that I don't have to wait on the girls to keep up with me. Otherwise, I'd have to wait until they were up, dressed and had eaten breakfast before walking which means the sun would be completely up and the temperature would be well over 80. I did that last summer. Even Hurricane Dolly isn't going to drop our temperature below 90. She hit too far south for us to get any major chance of rain. ::sigh:: Right now, highs in the 80s sounds really pleasant to me, especially with a light breeze.

Lavender would love to play with Cabal. There's just this pesky crossing of, what, four or five states? She would play all the time, too, since Govan died June 28th and she no longer has a fellow dog to play with. She's half Great Pyrenees, so there wouldn't be a size discrepancy.

At 8:13 PM , Blogger Bulfinch's Aglaia said...

I missed Dr. Score's birthday! I'm sorry. Happy Belated Birthday, or a very merry unbirthday, whichever is best for you. I have been covered up in homework, sigh, from summer classes. Took two exams today (one of them in math. Math! MATH, I tell you!! Sigh. Math hates me.) I still have two projects and one notebook thing to finish by Friday afternoon and then y'all can stick large forks in me to test the extreme doneness that shall exist. Still. It's no excuse. I hope you had a lovely, fun-filled day on your birthday, Sir Paul, and that today was almost as good and that tomorrow will continue the festival of celebration.

And Pantagruel, I will be the official lightweight of the group. By the kind mercy of God, I do not have an addictive physiology and so alcohol, drugs, chemicals of any kind including cigarettes do not attract my corresponding chemicals. I will drink one drink every now and then (less than five times a year, unless I go to England, where I drink hard cider on tap or tea all the time), and more than one drink makes me tipsy and unable to walk in a straigh line, and more than two makes me throw up almost immediately. I am SO a cheap date!! :-) And I never mind being the designated minder/driver/ caretaker.

Off to dream of visiting Fablo's country in the fall . . .

At 8:28 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Dr PAul is out at a gig Johnny is playing, and when last we spoke he was acquiring some Birthday Whiskey. I told him not to let johnny make him play too much.

I wish you could ALL come in the fall and we could have a party and some of us would drink many drinks, and some of us would drive everyone home.

Way to go, Adriandalen, 6 AM! I was wondering about you and the hurricane, glad it is good, but I wish you might get rain. I am sorry to hear about your Dog, that's always hard.

I try and go early and then in the evening, at least lately, now that I am finally moving again.

It seems really busy for everyone right now, Val was commenting on it, Phiala is buried, I know I am beyond busy, the days go so quickly...I am glad we have us.

I wonder how Dr Paul is going to feel tomorrow, going into work? Hee-hee, he IS out with Johnny....

I would love to come and visit in the fall; you'd never get me from the wood; I'd be too busy sniffing the whole place and snapping pictures. You'd have to tempt me back with the sound of book leaves rustling and tea being made otherwise I's camp out in a tree with Fred.
And watch the fireflies.

At 9:25 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

On the loose indeed! I hope we get a full report tomorrow!

Spacelaw, I applaud the poetry of your post, it flowed like music, but sadly, Fred has left us, never did like Dog, tho he may be living close by, and the fireflies are gone by fall....

Still the leaves are beyond lovely and there would be much magic for your camera....

Hmm, a Fall visit... would have to be late fall, sometime between Halloween and Christmas. Otherwise my bank will come after me with pitchforks and torches. ;) But I'm liking the idea, a lot. When is the big shift from Fall to Winter up there? And can I trade you lessons or art or something for lodging? I want to go see woods!

Phiala, I wish you a speedy recovery. No fun, for sure. Oof.

Here's a small sample of what my life is like for your entertainment, and you can decide later if it's witty or not. In the last couple of days, I've said the following things, all true, but edited to protect the foolish:

-Why yes, I've done project X for you. Three weeks ago. Look in your email. ...You wanted project Y? Would this be the same project Y you forgot to tell me existed until just now? Uh-huh.

-The Caravaggio study? Um, yeah. You're funny.

-Remind him to move the paint bucket and paintings out of his car, if he picks up the bass drum.

-Remember, she is the hottest woman in the elevator.

-Really? I never would have guessed you like breasts! Yes, I'm being sarcastic.

-So in which reality is this kilt being delivered? It's a sad day when an American has to give the Dutch a geography lesson, but here goes: Toronto is not Los Angeles.

-Yes, I am going to Nerd Prom and I will have comps for you. How will I find you?

-So let me explain why carpet is a bad idea in a studio. It's called paint.

-Right, this performance evaluation you want me to do by Friday with software that is fuxx0red? It's fuxx0red. Do it anyway? Okay. Shall I write it out in longhand? Blood? Please advise.

There you go, a small sample of my life, in dialogue.

The Zombie Wasps have abandoned the alliance in a huff. And good riddance to them, I say; those things give me the creeps.

In light of this, representatives from the Bees and Bengals are meeting in order to craft a new position paper for the Bee-Bengal Alliance.

Early reports indicate that they address the Cabal Cabal's belly-rub platform head-on, insisting that you live at their indulgence and you primary function is the opening of cans and turning on of faucets. Oh, and the bees want their honey back.

Greetings and good morning to all (even if it' s not morning where you are at).

Sadly, no hangover or any such physical remnants that would accompany a wonderful story involving music and debauchery. I'm afraid that I behaved myself, as is necessary when you have to drive yourself home at the end of the night. Still, I had some fun and there was good music and some darts. (Not that I didn't have a Guinness and whiskey or two.)

The Fall is fantastic here, but honestly if you are trying to see the colors, the window is slim. It is usually somewhere in the first thee weeks of October and lasts about a week or so depending on the weather. Of course us clever midwesterners have figured out how to travel North and South to make it last a little longer.

Very entertaining quotes Pantagruel. There is something about this time of year where there is just not enough time in a day. I'm between kid sports for about another week or so, so I'm enjoying that reprieve while it lasts.

Thanks for all the well wishes and positive energy everyone, it has been needed and very well received. I am most grateful.

I think you can search for users on the tool bar at the top but I have no clue how you find someone if you don't know what their user name is. (I did PM you with this, but I don't think Last FM likes me very much either - you proabbly got it twice or not at all)

PS - as FabLo knows, I'm on as Coraline73 and would love to make frinds with y'all, if I can ever find my on profile again...

I think we ARE friends already! Tho how either of us managed that is beyond me.

Adriandalen just asked to be my friend...How did you DO that???????

(I accepted of course!)

Paul, glad you're not hung over; sounds like just the right amount of celebrating, then. ;) Only a week of color-changing trees? Hrm, now how is that better than LA? I feel duped.

Dan Guy -- the Cabal Cabal stands firm. You will never get the honey back. Not even if you hand over your Freeze Ray.

Ivenotime -- what a night. Oof. Best wishes for your daughter's speedy recovery.

Okay, all, I need a Fashion Opinion: Do I wear The Corset to Nerd Prom tomorrow? (Nerd Prom being San Diego Comic-Con.) What do you think?

At 11:15 AM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Of course you wear a corset! You can never go wrong with corsets I say...

Gurrrl! If you has a corset, you wear it! You, of course, will report back and make us all jealous that we could not join you. Correct?

And yes, the color on the trees does not last very long but the difference is the number of deciduous trees here. I grew up in Oakland and there just weren't the miles of red, gold and green (sorry for the Boy George reference) forest. Even here in my little town you can spend hours in the woods. I get goose-bumps just thinking about it!

That said if you come here in Nov or Dec you will not have trees with color. You will still have fun though 'cause when one is drinking in a pub it really doesn't matter what color the trees are. :)

Val, if you got it, FLOUNT it (not sure if it is supposed to be spelled that way but I am way too tipsy to check).

Actually, here, I can predict the day at Nerd Prom for you now:

'Got up at 3 a.m., arrived at 6 a.m. Costumed people everywhere. Met other art directors at portfolio reviews. Showed work. Felt like throwing up from nerves, but didn't. Saw old friends. Made new friends. Went to party afterward. Crashed at friends' place, 60 hours after I last slept.'

See? There you go. Look at my psychic talent!

I wish I were able to go on Saturday, when Boss might be there. But if I don't go paint in the studio that day, I'll be garroted with my own guts.

I hope you had a very wonderful birthday, Dr. Score -- and your music is truly magnificent!

Gayle, I have a corset that would be perfect for you , if you ever want to borrow it. Admirers everywhere would be grateful...

Spacelaw had a beer tasting at her work tonight. Sounds like a not so bad job. Come to think of it, Johnny and Hans just had a beer tasting here at work when they got done. Some people get all the luck...

Call me out of it, but what is Nerd Prom?

I have LOTS of adventure and pictures for you tonight! What a day, and it's not over...

And Boss has said nothing to me, if you want an insider tip, about making appearances anywhere this weekend (Like Comic Con) and I'd be the first to know....

Quiche, 'Nerd Prom' is Comic-con. I think it got that nickname because of the Saturday night masquerade dance tradition. (Which I have never yet had the energy to stay for, myself.) I will not feel badly about skipping out entirely on Saturday, then.

I wish there were a beer tasting here at Saltmine U. ;) No beer, though. Must… finish… work.

Ms. Fabulous, I added you as a Friend on Last FM by going to your Profile page and clicking the button labeled "Add as a Friend" underneath your lovely picture. :) Granted, it's only taken me clicking the button three, or more, times to get it to work.

I'm so sorry to hear about your daughter, Sue. Glad her injury isn't any worse. And, just for the record, it was Phiala that went to the doctor. I have yet to make my appointment for this year.

OK, I realize that it makes me sound like a 13 year old girl but if anyone here is a Facebook person I would love to add you as a friend. I am going to spend some time with LastFM any day now. I have a profile but have not done anything with it.

Anyway, my real name is Gayle Peterson and you can find me that way on Facebook. I have found it a nice way to stay in touch with friends who are not living near me. There are also those who have found me who I would rather had not but, oh well.

I am TRYING to make coffee cake and my oven won't heat up. Seriously, am I supposed to stay calm?

Nerd Prom. I get it now....

Hmmm...I can't seem to find that button, but Last Fm is still changing on me...

I have a facebook and am REALLY trying to find it and use it and set everything up, it's just TIME. I know I need to, MySpace is so yesterday! Hee-hee....

Your oven won't heat? It should. I can't believe you ask much MORE of it than that....
