Photoshoots and Directions from hell
This weekend Kitty was working for the Boss. I was busy running around LA watching screenings and going to meetings, so I met her downtown to relieve her. I had no idea what I could actually DO...I have the directional sense of a newt, so it took me a while to find her. They were almost finished by the time I got there. We did have time to take a quick photo. The Boss had a photoshoot for Entertainment Weekly...again. I won't give anything away, but they did have some very sheek men's Goth clothes. I think the media really likes this guy! LOL
I am always in awe of Kitty and Lorraine. They can do amazing things like, drive places and not get lost. Call airlines and get AMAZING fares. Run entire shows with a crew of 300 ALONE. Answer 300 Emails in one day. Start animal sactuaries AND BLOG more than once a week!!!! They can even tell idiots to kiss off without being rude. (NOT a gift I possess. I'm either reeeeealllly nice, or a killing machine from Hell. There is no medium for Malena)
My talents lie elsewhere. Thank goodness the Dream King has Lorraine and Kitty. I'll sing, dance, and act like a dork as my contribution to the group. It has worked out well so far. Lorraine is my PR guide and Kitty is my Merch Goddess. I am so blessed to have such talented mentors. Without them I'd say way too much and possibly hurt myself. BTW, Lorraine has literally saved my life at least twice now. Clutz goes along with geek you know! Thanks girlies! You save me!

OHH!!!!! OHH!!!! I can't wait to see the 13 Nights vids!!! I will try to find this out for you (unless Danth gets there first... afterall he is an evil genius)... I have been working on some mini (meaning microscopic) vid ideas of my own lately with a goal of youtube posting so I was researching this (last night actually). What format is your file... how big? Maybe I will send you an e-mail with questions there instead. Maybe Danth will know. Maybe I will stop blathering now.

Point-the-first :: Malena, you are demonstrating some serious posing skills in that first pic.

Point-the-third :: So *that's* the Welsh-fro. I love that pic.
Point-the-fourth :: You can upload them to Google Video instead. It allows larger/longer videos and they'll still show up along with the YouTube ones in a Google video search.
With respect to "Lorraine has literally saved my life at least twice now", "clutz", and "possibly hurt myself", I'm picturing:

[MALENA and LORRAINE have stopped by to pick up a few things for the Boss' next reading tour.]
MALENA: [spotting a flamethrower on a shelf] Oooh, shiny!
[MALENA lifts the flamethrower off the shelf and begins to spin around, mock-menacingly, doing her best Colonial Space Marine impression.]
MALENA: Stop your grinnin' and drop your linen!
[As MALENA completes her turn to face LORRAINE, she trips over her enormous goth heels.]
MALENA: Eeeee! [She clutches the flamethrower tightly and her finger reflexively moves toward the trigger!]
[LORRAINE's hand shoots out and grabs hold of the flamethrower stock, blocking the trigger and steadying MALENA, then righting her. LORRAINE firmly removes the flamethrower from MALENA's grasp and places it back on the shelf.]
LORRAINE: We do not touch the incindiary military surplus, especially when standing next to the pallet of signed title sheets.

Yes, Danth you are about right with the Q&M story of flamethrowers. I mean, a few nouns and pronouns could be changed, and throw in a few more adverbs and you are there.

Kitty, no, I totally got why you were frantic. :) That line was insane. Talking with you while I was IN the line had indeed been my plan, but when I got up to Boss, I didn't see you... until I was out of the line entirely. Sorry about that. :(

By the way, you are so blessed with such a beautiful bust line but next to the Talented Boss, it looks like he's being attack by the killer tomatoes. You two women are knock outs! But that's exactly the sort of thing that would happen to me, except I don't need huge Goth heels to trip up, goodness knows. (Although when I had known my husband exactly two days, I fell down a staircase on to him because I was wearing four-inch heels, so...)
Malena, you are positively terrifying in the Welsh-fro pic. And barely recognisable, you always look so serene in a wicked-queenish sort of way...
If Google video doesn't work or limits the length of your video try Vimeo. They limit you to 500 MB per week of free uploading and they support higher definition video. That should allow you to upload one episode per week.
I've been looking for these things forever and I can't wait til you get them uploaded.
Just so everyone else knows... youtube allows uploads up to a GB but you have to use their (free) program to upload them. That's all.
If all that still fails... you could shrink the file by compressing it (using the right codec) and the smaller file should work for uploading.

ok, the video files are in .VOB. The google video installer doesn't support this file. Any suggestions?
Dan guy? Anyone? I can also send you a DVD and you can upload them if anyone is up for that.
I would be overjoyed to be responsible for converting them from DVD for uploading. The .VOB files you mentioned are files readable only by DVD players, that's why they're so huge, they haven't been compressed in any way. I live in MN so if Fabulous Lorraine will be anywhere in or around town I can get them from her [I've seen her in person with Hera 8) ] or if you'd rather post them I can give you my address.
Anything I can do to help would be an honour.

Yeah, VOB is the DVD format; you just have to convert it to MPEG. There's free software out there for it. I can walk you through it, or do it for you, whichever you prefer.
I don't speak this language, but I am happy to help if I can.....

There is always wickedness...it just lurks quietly in crowded places. Who knows how I, Miss Muffett, know this.
I downloaded a program called Power Director. My houseguest Sylvain is going to try and help me convert them. He said with that much footage it could take a while. Lorraine, do you have a DVD copy?
The short answer is yes, we do. I'll have to find it. I could bring it to my gig at Kips in Minneapolis this weekend, if someone needs to get it and do some Wicked converting......
I play Friday and Saturday nights.

I am gratified to hear that my goodly facade has hidden my wicked grins even from you, Lorraine, whose perception of such things is keen indeed.
It will be very easy for me to pick the DVD up from you at Kip's, it's only about fifteen minutes from my house. I'll be lurking in the crowd on Friday, you'll know me by the cloud of mystery.

FabulousLorraine: I believe I will be attending, bringing one wicked friend, on saturday night. But our wickedness will be multiplied many times by the fact that we will be spending the preceding hours engaged with the 4th Edition of Dungeons and Dragons at The Source comics and games in Roseville. Mr. Danth Guyth - utterly brilliant screenplay there! I'm not sure whether or not to make it a point to invite Malena to our Thunderdome* events or specifically tell her not to come. I mean, she'd fit in perfectly with our "What could possibly go wrong?" theme... but then I'd hate to have her be the reason we never change our "Days since last injury: 0" sign. Of course, now I want to give Malena a home-made flame thrower for X-mas. *sigh*
And I agree - total hawtness abounds. For all three ladies. Especially when together. Sizzly even. :)
