Rising From the Dead

I have achived some health in the last 24 hours. I now feel really horrible. As opposed to " I am about to die " This is an improvemant. I have some drugs tho and some of the best chicken soup ever made. I may yet live.

Sharon the Birdchick
posted this today, which made me laugh:

(I am as yet too braindead to think of my own ideas, so I am sure she will not begrudge me hers for the day)

It made me laugh tho, I know spring is strange in the part of the world ( and in the UK, from what I have been hearing ) but, it's like it's having weather Touretts. Is it a thunderstorm? Sleet? A blizzard? A flood????? It just doesn't know and so is changing on a country by county basis. And trying for all of them.

Another 3-5 inches of snow tomorrow. Which may make the point of whether or not I am well enough to go to my gig tomorrow rather moot.

Sigh.

I just got up my driveway last Sunday for the first time since November.

It was really lovely to see all the new Folks posting this week, many thanks for your support of Lonely Werewolf Girl. I am reading it again, here on my couch. Until I fall asleep.

Which may be shortly.

Love from the sickroom,
Lorraine

Hurrah for drugs and chicken soup! I'm glad you're recovering, even if you've hit the point where you feel horrible, instead of dead.

Over here at Saltmine U. in LA, it's in the 60s, the sun is glorious on the Getty, and I'm having to flog my minions to get them to do what I asked for, instead of what they think needs doing. Arg.

Lorriane: I feel your pain, I have the lungs of an eighty year old chain smoker, just joking but while working with the Peace Corp I got TB so my lungs are shot. My advice to you is stay off dairy until your infection is clear and rest, rest, rest, and rest. Just lay but with your kitties and enjoy a good werewolf novel! Blessing!

Perhaps I should go to an exotic I asland and lie on the beach for a while...Anythere it is spring...

Flogging Minions? I like that.

At 12:19 PM , Blogger Yoga Gal said...

By the way along with ginger tea enjoy a glass of red wine. It's great for those lungs. You can mull your wine with honey and spices, yummy and yes; healthy! Please, take care of yourself!

Glad you're at least doing a little better..bronchitis is just so awful.
Make a nice big nest of the couch with lots of blankets and all your necessary stuff within arms reach..that way you won't have to get up as much.

I know this is really groan-worthy, but the first thing I thought of today when I heard you all were getting snow was that Prince song;) (Sometimes It Snows In April)

Meh. Crazy weather. No wonder you are sick. Take care and don't let te kitties eat all the chicken soup.
Greeting from the French Riviera (where it rains obsecenely).

That weather pattern looks like a gryphon: fleshy head with a green eye, red body, light purple foot, and deep purple wing sprouting from a white tuft of fur.

And yay for improving health!

Sometimes it snows in April...
Love that song and it fits the mood. We all hope you feel better miss fabulous. We G assistants sent you a get well gift yesterday. I know you'll want to take a photo of it. Pretty cool
Miss you! Feel better!

Are there ever really any boring tropical islands? I second the idea of going and becoming one with the beach. That'd fix you right up!

And yeah, the minions drove me to drink yesterday. I keep threatening to bring in my bullwhip, but I fear the wrath of HR.

At 8:58 AM , Blogger Fabulous Lorraine said...

Well, Prince IS from Minnesota, he does know....

Spacelaw...French Riviera. I am so sorry. Stuck there in the rain. We feel so for you. That must be horrible.

Hee-hee.

I made a joke, must be feeling better. Sort of relitivly better. Gryphon weather, that's what this is. Forcast today is 1-3 this afternoon and 2-4 tonight of snow. Hmph.

Islands. Yes. Minions can drive one to drink.

I don't drink myself, (thanks to the timely help of my best friends a couple of years ago, saying things like "UH, What the HECK is going on here") but I have no objections to other people doing so, and in fact, encourage it.

I think my OFF button broke, in regards to drink.

Malena, I can't wait to see what you guys are sending! You are the best!

There. Just wanted the other me back.

I wonder why it switches????

At 9:14 AM , Blogger Dan Guy said...

It switches based on whatever your active Google ID cookie is. So if, perhaps, you have multiple tabs or windows open and, say, one displays Lorraine's gmail and another displays the LaM blogger dashboard then you're going to post as whichever window refreshed most recently.

At 9:14 AM , Blogger Dan Guy said...

Or it's possessed by unicorns.

At 9:48 AM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Thanks Dan. Unicorns it is.

I am off to work, my poor Boss has been assistantless all week, and that is no good. ( He was the one who made the best chicken soup ever and brought it over, which may well have saved me. And you thought he was a good WRITER, the man can COOK!)

At 1:30 PM , Blogger Kitty Cat said...

ahh little Lady Lorraine,
feel better you.
xoxoxo miss you & the cats.
and apparently the heavenly chicken soup--
take it easy and really beat that sick, ok?

At 1:47 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

I will take it easy. All I have left today is a drive thru the sleeting snowstorm and then a gig and then another hour back home.

Sigh......

At 2:07 PM , Blogger Malena said...

great pic Dev. Did Kitty or Nathalie take that? And Nat, did you FINALLY get your body products? We've sent them twice now.

At 3:08 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

*All* you have left today is a drive through a snowstorm and gig?!

Dude. I shall drink for both of us.

And Dan Guy -- I'm so plotting how to use 'possessed by unicorns' in my next Saltmine U. web standards meeting.

At 3:26 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Pantagruel, if you are planning on drinking for both of us, Don't drive home! Hee-hee...

( I can see it now..." Well, Officer, I only had two but my friend Lorraine needed FOUR, the sort of day she was having..")

Kitty took that, last time she was here, we did total glam shots with Kitties!

Snow snow and more snow coming down. My Boss laughed at it and said it didn't even look real, sort of bad CGI....I told him he was onto us and his friend Director Bob had whipped it up for a joke....

Off to the gig. Oh Gods....

At 3:39 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Good luck with the snow and the gig! Even sick, I'm sure you'll be awesome. And then get some rest. :)

Never fear, even at my most debauched, I don't get behind the wheel. But I'll gladly be your Designated Drinker, if you want. ;)

At 5:58 PM , Blogger Rubius said...

lol... designated drinker... I like that.

and L... "Well, Officer, I only had two but my friend Lorraine needed FOUR, the sort of day she was having.."

...that's hilarious...

At 11:20 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Ok, so it is settled, Pantagruel is my Official Designated Drinker , SHE will now drink for me.

Actually, Malena doesn't drink either, no head for it, and allergic to boot, so I think Pantagruel ought to be the Official LaM designated drinker, people always want to buy us drinks.

Three cheers, Slainte and Skol, and a pint, to Pantagruel!

The gig was a nightmare to get to, and very hard to speak thru, and slippery to get home from but..

Way way cool to have been at. Wild horses couldn't have dragged me away....The cool people came down.

The ones like us. Sometimes the universe comes thru when you need it.....

At 12:59 AM , Blogger spacedlaw said...

Sounds like you are definitively better but I worry about you going out and play. That could set you back even without sleet but in such weather conditions...
Not reasonnable at all.
(And your computer had an identity/personnality disorder? Are there such things as shrinks for electronics?)

The products have not showed up yet, Malena, but in Italy you do have to be ever so patient with the mail.

At 11:59 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

So glad the gig went well for you. :) Hopefully it helped with your recovery from bronchitis; sometimes it helps to get out and do something that feeds your spirit.

I promise to take my Official Designated Drinker (ODD) duties very seriously. It'll be rough, getting through all those pints of beer, but I'll just have to be brave.

Might not have been such a great idea to have done quite so much last night. Feel much worse today.

The meds are pretty horrid too, I don't have a body that can handle anything. I am sad all the time and cry. I stopped them all but the antibiotics. No prednisone, or the nausa stuff or the cough stuff.

What's worse , the cure of the disease?

I think I need a large glass of simple whiskey, Pantagruel, if you would be so kind?

Covered my gig tonight, can't do it.

At 2:16 PM , Blogger spacedlaw said...

That's reasonnable.
Don't cry! We love you. And the kitties love you too.
Chocolate hugs.

At 3:11 PM , Blogger ivenotime said...

oh sweetie I hope the blues lift quickly and you begin to feel better in body and soul! so sorry to hear you are feeling worse, hope you can pamper yourself some, and if that includes whiskey so be it - best medicine there is. take care, cuddle the cats, and no more gigs til you are better!

At 6:01 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Thanks...It's Pantagruel who is going to drink for me tho, she is the LaM designated drinker now....Remember?

At 6:27 PM , Blogger ivenotime said...

indeed i do, but i won't tell...tho i was serious about it helping one feel better, it's about the only time i ever have a bit of it- just an ounce or so straight up, (but of course pantagruel could have some for you and think healing thoughts- may work just as well!) Hope tonight brings much health and healing to you!

this is your intrepid ODD, posting via iPhone:

Lorraine, you've had by proxy: 18 oz. Of arrogant bastard stone imperial stout, 10.9% abv. Whiskey must wait until I get home, after digital painting, but that will be Bowmore legend single-malt.

I think I could get used to this new job...

At 12:15 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Mmm, whiskey. This is my best (if my silliest) imaginary job, ever. Oh, wait... Healing thoughts.

*drinks to your health*

Hope the peat smoke goodness helped a bit!

At 12:25 AM , Blogger spacedlaw said...

If extra help is needed on the drinking side I could provide some moderate (but good quality) support.
My brother has an Armagnac made in 1964 (a most excellent year)...
And I have some excellent whiskies at home.

At 4:10 AM , Blogger Hera said...

Hope you're feeling better..

General Goodness to you!

I assume our little fiddler is feeling a bit better today? Let's hope. I agree to stay off dairy until you are better. Let me know when you get your present. We love you. Feel better.

At 6:40 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Hope you're back to feeling like one of the living again, Lorraine.

(And I hope Boss is feeling better too after being KO'ed by his own Dog. That just sounded painful.)

At 7:19 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

I am starting to feel better. In fact, we were just out for a short walk with Dog when the tragedy happened. Very very not fun, I was so scared.

It was a truly bizarre accident that I never saw coming, just one of those things, poor man.

At 11:15 PM , Blogger spacedlaw said...

I am so relieved to read that you are finally feeling a little better.

Don't push it, though.
Walk-abouts with mad tube handling dogs might be stretching it a little.

At 6:33 AM , Blogger ivenotime said...

Yey for feeling better! Boo to pipe wielding dogs!

At 8:06 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Glad you're feeling better. Behold, the healing powers of whiskey by proxy! Wonder if it'd help Boss after the pipe-wielding Dog accident...

At 11:59 AM , Blogger Yoga Gal said...

Dear Lorraine: So pleased to know that you were with the boss when he had his near fatal encounter with the pipe wielding hound! Think how tragic it would be if he was alone! Knowing you , he was in good hands with a level headed- woman. Bless you! Still, must had been frightening!
