St Pats Day Part 2

Or not.

I mean, that WAS a week ago. And there are, blessedly, 51 weeks left until I have to do it again. It's not something we want to dwell on, it's not pretty and the best thing about it is that it is over, and I am taking the check to the bank.

Here is a picture that pretty much Sums up St Pats Day, and says it ALL.....(poor Paul, it only LOOKS like he is in his Happy Place)

That being said, it was fun, the people were lovely, we made both the weekly What's Cool to do paper, and the main Stillwater paper, on the cover. Paul was (and is still) very sick with the Evil Virus of Doom. Had to cancel tonight as his voice is GONE. (also it might have been a problem because there is a WINTER STORM going on, more on that later...)but we made a lot of people happy, and we made it thru, and made some friends along the way.

Miss Kitty is out here, which is always wonderful fun, and SHE is loving this Winter Storm, that came from no where, and promises to create sheer havoc with driving. She says she CAME for winter. Malena is sad because SHE is not here, and is missing WINTER (not to mention US) too.

LA folks are weird. (shakes head sadly) I would SO be there right now. I always thought the phrase "The air was perfumed with the Night Blooming Jasmine" a kind of overdone silly sentence until last week, when Malena took me on a hike around her neighborhood.

Here's what we look like right now. Night Blooming Jasmine being in short supply....

Thank goodness Kitty is here, my picture taking skills are also in short supply.

Here some Mim Cuteness, as we never have enough of that going on.....Can you believe how HUGE she is getting????

Here's me pouring tea for Miss Kitty in my Drawing Room. Ok, so it's not tea, it's Gatorade, we were too tired to make tea. And it's not my drawing room, can't draw either, have not that skill, but my Sun Room, but there is no reason not to break out the tea pot and be elegant even if one IS drinking BLUE sports drink. I say anyway.

The cool teapot, as I can hear you asking , is from Artifacts, who are, besides being my Sister, a really cool pottery/costume site. Want skulls? Pirates? Flags? Custom dishes or pottery? THAT is the place to GO. Trust me. She and her husband, will make ANYTHING you can imagine. I am getting a Culligan Water Dispenser with Bats and Skulls on it soon. Pictures to come.

I am now taking Miss Kitty out into the Winter, to a Small Store that is closing today and selling everything off , and a small stop at the antiques store, then onto my Spooky House to feed the Beasties, off to the store for MEAT for a large white dog...

(.....Who loves the snow....Here's a Kitty picture from this morning , which she went outside and took in her Bathrobe....)

And then back to work for us, cozy and warm, covered in Kitties, and myself for one, dreaming of Warm, and of Sun...

Happy Full Moon and Spring , Everyone!
Lorraine

Glad to hear you still have positive things to say about St. Paddy's Day gigging... and I am glad you survived. I hope Paul survives too... wish him well for me.

I am sure it is GREAT fun to have Kitty out there... and I know what she means... I am in full spring bloom right now and I miss the snow.... we wacky west-coasters. Nice pics. Thanks for sharing them with us.

Actually Mim does look bigger... wow.

And yes, night blooming Jasmine scented air is wonderful, despite the overuse as a cliche.

Here be a Classics nerd drooling over the lovely pottery on your sister's site. I love that pot you have but I was wondering when I saw the pic what on EARTH type of tea you were having.

Happy full moon.

I am not missing the snow as much, although you have to admit that it makes for dramatic pictures. And it is wonderful as long as you do not have to step out (if your heating is working, of course. Has this been settled?).
I am sort of glad for you that the gig is cancelled, even itf it means that Paul is STILL out with that beastly cold: You guys need the rest.
That blue tea looks like it was fairy made...
Enjoy your time together.
Chocolate hugs.

Fairy tea!!!! Oh yes, Malena makes it special for me, hee-hee!

NO the heat is not yet ok, we just came back here and it SAID 62, but when I re-set it, it was like, oh, or maybe 50!!!!!!!!!!!

Sigh. Calling now.

At 2:30 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Does 50 even count as heat?! Break out the UGG boots! ;)I hope Paul feels better soon, and it sounds like a good thing the gig was canceled. You guys definitely take St. Patrick's day much more seriously out there...

Now I think of you every time I smell the orange blossoms around here, since you like them so much.

Gatorade is fairy tea; I like that. It sure beats calling it 'bat sweat.' :)

At 2:44 PM , Blogger spacedlaw said...

50!?!
Good thing Kitty went in for the cold, she won't be disappointed.

At 3:08 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Could not buy new UGG's in LA. They are, apparently, out of season.....

Huh????

Heat by Monday. ANd I am having a party tomorrow of people who want to come and help me clean. Oh yes......

I need an orange, and a lemon tree in pots. They can be out on the deck in the summer. Some jasmine too....Who will help me garden???

At 3:15 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Kind of like bat sweat tho....

I have the heat so that it will be OFF or ON, 50 or 85. Need new thermostate thing, I think.

At 4:47 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

What? No photos of you and Kitty carousing? :)

Mmm... jasmine. It really is wonderful stuff. One of the best reasons to go on evening walks in my neighborhood - the stuff is simply EVERYWHERE!

Hope winter ends soon!

My first thought was "omg you poor thing it's still SNOWING up there?" At least our precipitation is just wet and puddly and great for making mud pies but not so much for trying to get peas started.

I do have some things started downstairs though. Lots of smelly plants to try and tempt bats this year.

I'm glad Kitty is getting her snow fix. :-D

Great photos Miss Cat, you make snow look enchanting! Lorraine, love your tea china! Buying fine china is one of my vices. Also, love the "Kitty at the door shot". Am I projecting; but Cabal looks a little sad and confused. Maybe, he's missing his master. I recognize hills. Lorraine, you have truth Hollywood glamour.

snow snow snow delightful lovely individual snows.
quiche has been squiring me about town, treating me to delicious food and we are happily staying in, maybe tomorrow we take a photo booth shot to show how we cleaning things up and sorting and storing.

ask Quiche if she is a god.
she will say YES

Oh wow...Lorraine, I bought my favorite tea mug from your sister! I followed your link to her site, trying to remember where I'd seen that teapot before, and when I saw the pirate designs I knew I'd seen it at the Feast of the Hunter's Moon. So I checked my nifty skull and crossbones mug and sure enough, it's stamped J. Henderson Artifacts on the bottom. How cool is that?

Sorry to hear about the heater issues. You have the same choice of temperatures I do, so you have my deepest sympathies. (I live in an old building with cranky radiators.)

Great pictures, Kitty. Poor Dog does look a bit forlorn.

Happy (belated) Equinox and Spring:)

Of course she's a god.

I cannot conceive of being too tired to make tea, but I approve of the teapot nonetheless...

I am gong to get Jasmine and figure out how to winter it indoors, it seems to get sad and die when I bring it in...I really do want oranges and lemons, too. I can walk in my garden singing.."Oranges and Lemons say the bells of..."

Kali, that's so cool that you have one of my sisters mugs! She is really good...

It is fun with Kitty here, we are going to start all my tomatoes from Tomato Bob's in little pots, along with all the hot peppers.

I am making her great food. AH yes. Last night I burnt a pizza for her. Tonight I will make her Thai Curry to make up for it. We will get some pics too, she wants to do a photo shoot with me all dolled up.

It's SO weird. Last night when I posted, I was FabulousLorraine and now I am LaM!

How does it change like that on my computer when Malena is the only one who knows that LaM thing, heck, I could not even MAKE it do that, and as far as I know SHE is NOT here.

Never know tho. Really. With Her.

This is pretty funny Lorraine, because a couple of weeks ago I ordered a dwarf key lime tree and a dwarf orange tree from Gurneys- (they had Meyer lemon too)- I thought I would give them a try.
We crazy northern gardeners "Citrus! We can do citrus!"

Of course we can she says, as she continues to watch the snow fall....

Maybe if you did the jasmine in the sun room and didn't move it outdoors? Sometimes the back and forth kills plants more than anything.

At 1:57 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Hmmm...might be an idea.

Of course, I need heat!!!!!!!!!!!

At least the poor Spooky house is CLEAN thanks to Miss Kitty, Merry Housekeeper and Spooky Daughter.....We had a Party!

As I type this I am watching Venus going after, yet again, her own fav treat. Yes, ladies, you know.....

Kitty is shooting my next door neighbour.

(ok, that sounded weird, my Neighbour is an actress, and needs a head shot for modeling work.....It would go quicker, only MIm is helping her)

At 2:57 PM , Blogger Beez said...

Thank yew! The "Kitty is shooting my next door neighbor" made me blink. heh

And yes- you would definitely need heat. Really, you do anyway. :P

Happy Spring! Hope your heating dilemma is resolved soon - tho how nice to have the house clean! We got about an inch of snow, not too bad-this is truly a neverending winter. Hope Paul is feeling much much better.

Hi Martin, and welcome! And a very Happy Easter to you too.

Snow in London, eh? And here I had visions of my Boss picking daffodils and singing "Oh to be in England in the Springtime...."

At least the pair of you seem to be surrounded by Romanian Publishers, buying you drinks in cozy Pubs. Why don't I have a Romanian Publisher to buy me Beer???

(I know , finish the Book!)

What I do have today is our own Rock-n-roll photographer Miss Kitty, who keeps saying things like "I am going to shoot you today whether or not you BATHE and dress!"

Shoot in the Cold. Which could mean inside or outside, as I still have no heat.

Paul is still sick, I posted some photos and blog over at www.paulandlorraine.com tho....

Happy Easter All!

Meanwhile it snows ALSO in Italy - In the mountians, though; in Rome it is just pissing with wind howling for just the right apocalyptic ambiance.
Global freezing, yeah!
Hot chocolate for everyone!

BONA DEA, NOOOOOOO!
No snow in Central Texas. All the trees are blooming. It would be nice to have peaches, pomegranates, and persimmons this year. The oaks and the bay tree would survive, and the box elders and pecans won't be blooming for another month or so. Besides, it's REALLY strange to see the trees all leafed out and snow on the ground, except under the trees where there is green grass. We did that last year in April.
So, no snow here, please. :)

At 3:26 PM , Blogger ivenotime said...

Lorraine!!! no more snow!!! bad bad snow!! think spring think dirt, i had to place our poor ferret that just passed away in the freezer cuz the ground is too hard to dig. ick. in a bright green plastic bag so i dont mistake it for something else. double ick

Ok, Spring for everyone, except for Hera, who is just starting winter in New Zealand, poor dear.

May get out of this photo shoot too, hee-hee...Kitty is way asleep on the couch halfway thru the movie....I am watching it, the Kitties and reading Kiss Comics.

(hey, we get everything here...)

Hello Martin! Nice to hear from you here! Fablo tells me Lonley Werewolf Girl is out in the US, whheee-hoo!

Fablo- I want pictures! Remember what I told you about doing your eyes. Do you still have the drawing I did for you???? It's easy! They looked so good last week on the mountain. Do them JUST like that and they will be perfect!

And post pics!!!!!!!

At 4:17 PM , Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Uh, sure, Babe, no problem. Make-up. Yes. One of my Best Known Skills. I'll attempt to do it just like you did.

No problem.

(Alice Cooper AND Kiss will have nothing on me by the time I am done.....)

I was going to say... is that THE Martin Millar? Kewl.

Edinburgh appears to be the only place in the UK where it has NOT snowed, by the sound of things. We had a tiny sprinkle on Friday, and that was it.

I am beginning to feel left out.

I am really just posting to see if my new picture will come up, or if it will be my old one, or if I will be someone new again...

I did my profile today too. Can't say I am lagging behind!

Kitty is off to the airport and I have lost my SVU partner in crime. (tho we did both discover SCRUBS this weekend too, sometimes TV overload is JUST what is needed!)

New post and Pictures tomorrow, promise!

Thanks for everything, FabLo, you were a truly gracious hostess, down to an amazing Thai dinner with the Birdchick & NBB & Bets & lovely David.
and yes, i had PLENTY of time for my plane, forever scarred by the beast that is LAX.

love the photo Miss Q. You really are photogenic!

My "stormtrooper" alienware computer is having issues. Between that and the project I am working on, I will be a ghost on the blogs for a few more days. My final day of work for this job is wednesday.

But like life, I can see that the world of LaM easily and effectively goes on without me. That makes me happy to see so many comments!
Love to you all!

New post soon, with pics. I know, I promised this some days ago, but I have been just trying to work and get over this darn cold. Not the flu, thanks be, but I sure don't feel great in my poor little head.

Lorraine, How's your Cold? I hope it's better, remember to stay away from dairy products. Last time I had a Cold I ordered a Breakfast burrito and asked for no dairy products in it. So I did get an interesting Breakfast burrito, no dairy and no eggs. Sigh. Well, hope you're feeling better soon!
