The Wonderful World of Bees, Gardens, Music, Malena and Dogs

Bees are truly more wonderful fun than you could ever imagine! I always swore I would have NOTHING to do with Bees every time my Boss would wistfully mention how much he wanted Bee Hives. Fine, I would say. Go get a Beekeeper. Enter the Hot Birdchick, a Bee Class, and a couple of boxes of Bees and now I am having so much fun, I'd never believe it if it wasn't me!

I want more hives! More Bees! Honey for Everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, I will settle down. Chris has told me very very soon he will get me what I need to go back into the studio and finish up the violin parts for the Hidden Variable cd, we are getting really close. Adam Stemple, who has produced every cd I have ever made, is coming in with me, largely to say things like " That was very nice. Now do it again " Ah, the studio.....

Malena has new pictures up on her blog So lovely! So elegant! Tres Chic , that one is! And in leather too, no complaints here, hee-hee . And , man, can she SING!

My garden is wanting to get planted, so far spinach, onion, three kinds of peas and radishes have all come up. The beets are the great underachieves and have done NOTHING yet. I am hoping to get the rest of the little guys in this weekend. Not the tomatoes, it's still too cold for their little leaves, or the hot peppers. ( I have about 15 kinds of tomatoes, all colours, and 9 different peppers. I REALLY like salsa! )

And my Boss got a Dog. A very cool dog.

Love and Bees and Dogs and Strange Kitties,
Lorraine

PS. Someone, I won't say who, wants me to add " Maddy is Cool."

Lorraine, you make my head spin, P.A. to popular & talented writer, Bee Keeper Assistant, a singer and musician, where do you find the time to do all these things? You are amazing! Namaste.

Hey, ladies! I just wanted to stop in and say hi and YAY for bees and doggies!

Malena, I want to thank you for your little comment on your previous posting about asking the Universe for projects that are the best thing for you AND your family. That little addendum in the intention really struck me as so important and has altered my thinking a bit. So thank you.

I still think the dog got Neil. "Hi, I'm larger than your car, wet and muddy... can I come home with you?"

My garden is behind schedule. It was too wet to plant peas earlier at the ideal time. The rest should be OK. I do lots of different colors of peppers but tend to stick to paste tomatoes since gallons of sauce is canned in August.

If you're coming to WisCon and want a moon flower vine, let me know. I started some and they're really good-sized now.

I have no time, kid you not. Can't do it all. Actually , I just hired Mary Housekeepers sister, Terry, to come and get MY Spooky House on the Hill into shape once a week. Don't know what we will call her, maybe Terry Who is Saving My Life, hee-hee!

Oh! Right. Shout out Congrads to Mary Housekeeper whose oldest daughter just became a Mother for the first time. This makes her a Grandmother, which is wierd as Mary looks about 25....

The Dog and my Boss found eachother. The Gods know what they are doing.

I would love love love a Moonflower Vine, but am not coming to Wiscon, sadly. Can we post one? House needs SO much outside....

Mary just saw my comment on her and would like me to mention her greatst event of the last week ( excepting Grandson ) She came in the other day with the cutest SNAKE ever , that had scared the wits out of her sister, but apparently bonded with Mary herself.

I have to admit the little guy WAS pretty cute, just new. Mary is going to spend part of the day tomorrow off looking for him again, hoping to see him again and perhaos take him out for coffee.....

The vines are pretty long-ish so I don't know if they'd post well but I'll either be nearby enough to drop one somewhere or I can hand it off to someone who is at Wiscon and it can find its way to you.

They're not quite outdoors-ready yet since it's still chilly. You plant them about the same time as pumpkins and they're happy.

If you give the Vines to Greg Ketter at the DREAMHAVEN BOOTH he can pass them onto Elizabeth ( Paul and Lorraine Roadie Extrodinairre! and Manager of Dreamhaven Books ) and she will give them to me . I will tend them with the greatest of care!

Elizabeth, tell your Boss to roll with this and just give you the green things, hee-hee....

Good thing that Dog is white, so he won't have a problem with the bees.

Great thing gardening. It seems so strange to think that your tomatoes plants are yet to show up when ours have been growing like demented vines on a rampage ever since they were planted (late March). But true as well, we live in a warm place...

Would you take a picture of Maddy in a bee suit so we can see that she's cool ?

I seeded our lawns with clover, because I'm tired of grass, and now our yard is the major neighborhood hang-out for bees, birds, and deer. So far we're all getting along. I don't think I'm ready for hive-tending, though!

I can't wait to hear this Hidden Variable. I think of you every time I watch Pixar's "One Man Band" short.

I understand having no time, haha, I have been considering trying to find a Mary myself. CONGRATS indeed to you Mary on the happy birth - many blessings to you, your daughter and the little one (boy or girl?) and also on bonding with the snake. Snakes are not something I can bond with, flee is the more likely response, and gardening. sadly. I am the black thumb. and the one who admires everyone else's gardens out loud all summer hoping for the leftovers....

ahhh Malena, L'aMmies, she came and drove my Ghosty car to her fairyland ranch for safe keeping while i am out Tooling it, and came to dinner with her husband and we had the most wonderful time, after which we went to my art show, it was a night for the books. I took some phtos, and i will send her one to approve so we can post away on my blog.
i don't know how to fancy-embed the way these girls do, so i won't even try.
The road is treating me well, just no time to write about it yet, have LOADS of photos already, we stayed on a river in Reno, near the ocean in San Diego and now we are in New mexico, dry and desert-y. Today I sliced myself deeply, cutting lemon slices for the boys, and the tang of the lemon juice and the flow of the blood woke me right up. I wrapped my thumb in saran for the time being and when i unwrapped, it was truly gruesome, they all screamed at my to go to the rock doc. me? nah.
Quiche, i can't wait to hear the music & see the Kitty, are you naming her after the hive !!??
haha miss you all
will make a comment about asking the universe for things, next time, cause i have lots to say on that subject....wonderful practice.
