Gothic Dream Homes

I can't believe a week has gone by and I have barely even read our blog, it has been quite a week here tho. Last weekend Lojo and I had SO much fun playing, I forget just how good that lady really is. Great news is that we will be playing at Charlies again on August 12th, and we will be doing some shows October thru December, more on all of those as they get closer. I am hoping at some point, to get her on stage with Malena and I, which would be a truly great time, add in Emma Bull from my Flash Girls Bandd you have , I believe ALL of my fantasies coming true at once. ( at least the ones I am publicly admiting to )

Since I see it already out there on the web , I thought I might get my own news in, yes, it's true, I am buying a house of my very own. I think I may have found the house, a lovely Victorian place with a wild back yard where I can make fairy gardens to my hearts content , and have chandeliers with skulls and spiders, not to mention FINALLY getting my collection of skeletons out of the closet (kid you not, that's where I keep them ). Malena is going to come out later in the summer and help me decorate with all the sorts of cool things we both love, she has taste that girl.

I have already picked the spot for the hot tub, very important thing, for any Gothic Dream Home and the bath tub is a CLAW FOOT BATH TUB. ( how perfect I have a bandmate I suspect has claws on her feet too. And fingers for that matter. ) It is NEAR the cemetery, but sadly, not right beside it, which was a feature I had been keeping towards the top of the list , but the wilderness backyard, tin ceilings, and TWO fireplaces more than make up for it.

No idea yet about Ghosts, but one can't have everything.

Hopefully by the end of the week I will have my very own Witchie House on the Hill. Keep your fingers crossed!

Love and Dark Houses,
Lorraine

Congratulations! It sounds wonderful, and I hope it all works out for you! You and Malena will have such fun decorating with all the skeletons in your closet. And possibly new skeletons, never can have enough. Crows are very nice too.

Seeing you, Malena, Lojo, and Emma playing together would absolutely blow my mind!! I commented on someone's blog just last week that the four of you together would be, like, my dream line-up.

Yay for buying a house! It sounds lovely and delightful. A claw foot tub and two fireplaces rocketh.

The clawfoot bath sounds very cool, but I do not understand about the tin ceilings...

We get the keys to our little nest on Friday; it's not as gothfabulous as yours sounds (actually I think my husband would be quite alarmed if it were) but I'm pretty excited nonetheless.

How fantastic! One place my husband and I considered while in our very recent search for a home backed up to a cemetary (we could actually touch gravestones from the backyard- very spiffy!), but the place we ended up with just had that 'home' feeling. :)

I was poking around ebay looking for skeletal chandeliers for you. I haven't come across any yet, but I did find this and squee'd in delight- I thought they were so cute! (Is that wrong??)

You'll have to cut and paste all the bits of the lines.. sorry.. :(

Congratulations on the WItchy House! I envy your bathtub. I'm trying to work out how to get a tub in my bath. Tin ceilings are great things too.

Here's hoping your woods is populated with much cute wildlife and wee folk, and that you don't have the bear issue.

Awesome! It sounds beautiful, Lorraine. I used to have an apartment that had a clawfoot tub in it, and someday I'm gonna have another one 'cause I miss it.
Sounds like you and Malena are gonna have a lot of fun decorating soon!:)

Hey if you're feeling crafty, I found a couple of links that show how to make your own bone chandelier!

And an artist named Owen Leitch made this one: http://www.necrosculptures.com/sculptures/bonechandelier/bonechandelierpic.html

I think its a flat rate of $35 anywhere in the US.

But yes, do watch for Bears. Perhaps you'd do better to invest in a cat. But if you go that route- don't let him or her talk to Neil's cats first (as per his blog). Send him/her for special forces training with Jack. ;-D

We have 3 (Apollo, Artemis, and Eros) who assure me every morning that, while they've never actually seen a Bear, they are quite sure they could take one. Especially if they are anything like the birds in the mulberry tree outside our window. (They aren't the most likely of heros, really. Their experience ranges from threatening hermit crabs to 1 good slash across the nose to a 2 mo.-old pup we were sitting last week.)

What sorts of things do you have in your backyard wilderness?? And when will your offer go through? Pictures soon?! New houses are so exciting!

Yay for housey goodness! I love the place I live in now, and will love it even more when we annex the rest of the floor (which will probably happen in the next 9ish months - crossed fingers), but it is missing a clawfoot tub. *sigh* Someday.

Our cats are more bug-stalkers than anything else, which is just as well, as there are rather a lot of mothy things flitting around here in the evening, and to the best of my knowledge, Upper Haight in San Francisco is not bear country.
