Fairy Land at the Teves house

When we moved in this house, I started putting my daughter's fairies on the side of the house for the neighbor kids to play with. Now, three years later, it has become the Mecca for fairy worshippers. Miles is being quite tolerant, being the King of ALL Hellish Creatures and all. He added his statue of Clint Eastwood from The Good, The Bad and the Ugly to "stand guard over the ridiculous array of fairy nonsense".
Few men would tolerate 30 feet of fairies, wouldn't you agree?

And....It seems the whole neighborhood is getting involved. Yes, now the entire side of our house is a fairy garden. In fact, just this week alone, some anonymous human brought a beautifully hand-crafted fairy house and another brought a rhinestone winged fairy. That's two new additions to the fairy estate. How fun! There is always a Mom with a stroller parked outside my kitchen window. It's so fun to hear the children playing as I make dinner or brew up some soap. It brings enchantment to our home that wouldn't ordinarily be there. Just thought I'd share the magic with our LaMies.

How lovely! My girls would have loved something like that when they were little and would probably enjoy it almost as much now! What a wonderful bit of magic to add the neighborhood.

hokey smoke! THIRTY feet?

This is making the "taking the penguins to see March of the Penguins" thing look tame in comparison.

I am positive that there are many blessings in store for someone who encourages the laughter of children in the world. There's far too little of that going around these days, alas!

Yes, I have resigned myself to the reality that I will be collecting garden fairies for life. Hey, we all take laughter and magic when we can get it, right?

Cream on the window sill, huh? Sounds good to me. I'll try it. We miss you Meow Meow. We're on for your birthday at the Inn at the 7th Ray! Mr. Gorgeous' birthday is October 17th. October is a great month for LaM.

It's even better if you add a little honey to the cream, then add homemade bread with butter.

As far as men not liking all the fairy stuff, ::shrug:: my husband buys me fairy stuff for inside the house, and we have some garden fairies (statues), too. He did add a caveat to the "Welcome" fairy near the front door though, they are only welcome if they intend no harm.

Good point. You wouldn't want to encourage the fairies here in Scotland - they are as big as we are (or bigger) and steal children. A small rowan tree planted nearby will keep them at a distance, however.

If you really want an encounter, eating hazelnuts given to you by strangers generally does it, or going to sleep on the side of a hill. And beware of falling in love...

That sounds like a wonderful idea, glad the neighborhood is embracing it as well!

Of course of COURSE you are fairy experts! Have I mentioned what cool people you are lately? It's like having an interactive off-world encyclopedia at your finger tips. I love this blog!
