Leather and Werewolves
Darn, I wish I had my camera back. Madame Mim and Freaky Venus are BEYOND cute, and I think posts ought to have pictures. And here's me with none. Wait one moment...I know where there are some WAY cute pictures.....
There. Snagged it from Malena's blog. Little fashion thing that she is, she always has more photos than I . Comes from being that whole hot Hollywood Actress Thing that she is.
I see from the last comment that she is getting read for another Alter Ego shoot. She tells me these latest ones are WAY out there. I can just imagine, the mind boggles. ( come to think on it, the mind may be boggleing as I am trying to think and write on my first cup of tea..)
Actually, my sympathies are completely with Miles, having to get her into and out again of these leather outfits. It's harder than it looks, I've done it (for shoots, people, get yr minds out of the gutter!) And she IS a wiggler and doesn't stop singing.
Thanks for all of you who wrote to say you had bought The Lonely Werewolf Girl! We are going to make this book HUGE over here. Or anywhere. It truly deserves to be. Tell people. Tell everyone. How many people do you know that read? Rubius, you work at conventions. Elizabeth, you run a bookstore. Jody, you're a librarian. Can we get this out there? And my little lurking dears, you too!!! (tho I do wish you would stop being shy and come and talk to us, we are a fun lot!)
Another tip, you might want to nip on over to the Martin Millar Website and have a read. It's wonderful fun and he does a blog, and his post's remind me a lot of my Boss's. Very funny, and you can tell, like most writers, he read's a lot and I've learned a lot reading the posts as far as they go back.
I was writing back and forth with Martin's agent this weekend and he mentioned there is already a lot of interest in the film world about the book, hurrah! You heard it here first. (now, go and read it, we need to decide which Werewolf Malena will be, I can see four that she would be wonderful as, yes, yes, very early, but we need to think ahead!)
Madame Mim is sitting on my head, as I type this, watching everything. My kingdom for a working camera.....Enough with the dreams of Leather and Werewolves, I am taking myself, complete with wet hair (Kitty bought me a blowdryer last time she was here, but who has TIME for that???) off to work, sssssssrrrrrrrrrkks (MIM typed that! Her first post, how cute is that???) where one hopes, I will find my Boss has spent the night writing for me to transcribe...
Love, Leather and Werewolves, Lorraine

At work now.
Note to self: Hello? Lorraine?? It's -10 out there...Wet hair??? Think girl! Next time we go for the blow dryer...
Sigh.
Now I have visions of you with icicles on you head. Punk like.
Tsk, tsk, tsk...
(only -10 ?)
Looking at that entry I had a moment of "Hang on have I not read that?" and realized that it was the picture over at Malena's.
I suppose my brain has been fried by a day at the office.
aahhhhhh Quichey,
I made a comment in the last LAMP entry, but it posted as ThinkCeltic, which is Drew's--oops.
miss you girl.
oh! now here i am.
passwords trip me up sometimes....
xoxox
I really hope your hair didn't snap off. :(
And have no fear, my girls love books. My kindergardener has been in the Accelerated Reader program since week 2 of school. Her teacher tested her for reading at the beginning of school, and she reads at between a 3rd and 5th grade level. I was reading Celtic tales to her in the crib. We've also been going through the Narnia books, but we've really gotten bogged down in "Prince Caspian."
"The Wolves in the Walls" is a favorite of both girls. Granted, such things have unexpected consequences. A couple of years ago, I was coming downstairs for breakfast and I heard their father say, "You know what happens when your mother comes downstairs..." To which both girls replied (ages 4 and 2 at the time), "It's all over!" ::sigh::
Anyway, you can get instructions on how to make your own very simple corset (no boning) at www.threadbangers.com.
Yes. It is my new Plan. I will simply steal HER photos and post them on OUR blog.
Actually, it's braids today, SO fashionable I am, and they froze and stuck out like Pippi Longstocking.
It's ok Kitty, sometimes I post as Malena, and I wonder how the heck THAT happens, and she isn't here, and I can never remember her password. Miss you too. Come home soon! Your room is ever so much cooler with it's new Lamp.
Not to mention, uh, lighter.....
Good Gods, Kitty! Just read your comment on the last post. Barry Manilow????
Scary. But maybe in a good way.
I love that photo!
Blogger is NOT my friend today. I wrote a great comment and how in the frozen states Fablo and I grew up in (Iowa and Michigan) your nose holes WOULD stick together while walking to school.
I also told a great Madame Malena Mim story about how I scared the hell out of some dudes that were following me one night on my hike in the hills. I guess blogger was keeping you all safe from Malena's tales of wrath. Should I re-type it Dev?
Yes. You should. We like it when you scare us.
I went to look for "Lonely Werewolf Girl" today, but it wasn't on the shelves in my favourite SF/Fantasy bookshop. I think the internet beckons.
Lorraine - yes, it is absolutely gardening time here. Edinburgh is very temperate (it was 9 degrees C / 48F today) and I think my first gardening day of the year was in the first week of January (just weeding and digging). I blame global warming! It's still too soon to plant herbaceous things outside, but I have daffodils flowering and various other bulbs showing their heads, and sugar-snap peas started indoors and ready to plant out later this month.
Last year the summer was so wet that my garden was a disaster. I've invested in some cloches to try to stop things being battered and eaten by slugs this time!
Molly says she loves that hat.
Yes I agree with Malena :) popular blog ;) fall behind if you blink hee hee
Lorraine just to let you know.. there's a little package on the way.. it will arrive in two parts and should be there in the next couple of days I think.. :)
Looking forward to reading these books... will be ordering ;) xox!
K- that tain't right. I'll make some inquiries...They need to stock this!
Dan...WAY to cute! A little Lammie! That's how it starts, you know, with a pink cowboy hat....
Hi Hera! We got the package today, WONDERFUL, great promo pac, you have that going ON, I am loveing the new things and the vid!!!!!! (how come I recieved no chocolate, like someone else in the address?)
did he eat all 4 pieces? hee hee :)
there's still a second part to the package to come.. I sent it a couple of days after..
Excellent! No, he hasn't eaten it yet, but it won't be safe long.....MMmwwwhahahaha!!!!!
ok, this is the 3rd time I've typed this story so here ya go...
People often follow me when I go hiking up in my hills, even though I'm dressed in men's clothing and a coat that would fit John Goodman.
So, one night Miles and I figured we'd had enough of this nonsense. So, I packed my glok, my baton flashlight, put my LAPD hat on and off I went, hoping the young AND old men of the neighborhood would let me roam the hills in peace.
Well, just when I was huffing and puffing up the end stretch, I see a blue car following me. Hmmmm I thought, why not give them a scare....since pulling them out of the car and beating them to near death would be SLIGHTLY difficult and illegal. Don't think I didn't think about it though...
So I waited and took them on a little journey on the roads I knew well. Then I hid behind a tree and waited…
(I could tell by how OBVIOUSLY they were stalking me that these were NOT skilled killers. I wasn’t scared, just pissed. That’s usually how it goes for me.)
When they came around the corner looking for me, I jumped out, shined my light on their license plate while slowly pulling my hand from my pocket showing a small portion of my gun and screamed, “You wanna play with ME!!!!! COME ON!”
Now granted, I’m sure the LAPD hat from my indie movie helped, but they backed up reaaaally fast and drove away. I laughed all the way home. Urban Vampires and Werewolves....what can I say!
It's true. She did. Don't mess with this women. Especially after dark....
Great story Malena, but be careful out there! Ugh, the mom in me shakes in my boots over stories like that - i think i lost all my nerve when i had kids, sigh. AND blogger ate my post too this morning and it was a good one and now its too late cuz we are on to different topics. grumble. and i kinda don't remember how i wrote it... but it was a good one honest! And K, I'm just plain jealous, as I haven't seen ground for AGES - you neither Fablo? sounds like you are pretty snow packed as well - hope you can use your driveway soon.
I'd quite like some of your snow.. it's raining here...
Feeling very nostalgic reading about your weather..
Growing up in Iceland I remember the importance of hats..
aah frozen hair-cicles ... it's been so long..
You got tha right, I am so beyond snow and cold right now. I got a notice in my post box saying they weren't going to deliver my mail until I shoveled the steps.
(the snow and then wind has buried them, and I am not going out there until it is over zero!!!! The mail can wait till spring for all I care.....)
Hera, you can come here for some snow any time you want! We would SO love you at these B'day gigs!!
Great story Malena!
But I am scared that one day you might encounter a real goon. How's the boxing going by the way?
Right. Am all packed (I hope) and ready to go.
What do you mean "I am supposed to sleep first"? Sleep?
Awww, spacedlaw, you're so lucky. sniff. hope your traveling goes well - you too rubius, and you both have an amazing weekend, lots of laughs, great music and great fun. to add insult to injury, its snowing. hard. sigh and sadness.
Awww...
LaMies won't be forgotten. Full report (or close enough) shall be presented, documented and duly blogged.
She's right! We will do all sorts of fun things and you will hear ALL about it. As it happens even, we SO want you all with us.
We are hoping for some video, but it kind of depends on if her phone will talk to my computer , with no wires between them.
I have no idea what this is, or how it happens, but Spacelaw seemed to know what she was talking about.
Even if it did sound a little science fiction-y.....
Some magical little snow ferry removed the snow from your steps, hee hee... oh what lessons we can lean from Malena. You Rock!
HEY!!! I just got home from work and someone HAD shoveled my steps, so now my mail will come again.
(the women is Mad you know...Stops by my place on her way home from work and shovels my steps, in near zero temps?? I , will be forever, greatful!
You are SO on the Guest list for the shows! Not that there's a cover, but it's the princepable of thing. So is Spacelaw, but not Rubius. She's from Canada, and if we keep granting them concessions there's no telling WHERE it will stop.....
Eh?
Malena! What happened to your picture??? I know you have to be WAY to thin in Hollywood, but we can't even SEE you......
Oh. Now she's back. WItchy Women.....
you guys are always good for a smile.
Malena, you rock... be careful out there.
Don't worry girls. I have many secret weapons. When I go out I always have an arsinal. No one believes me but Dev and when I'm out at the clubs, I bring "Big Al", my manager and Kitty. Ewwww..I sound so Hollywood right now. That's why staying in my "Oatmeal outfit" is sometimes the best option. I got free flowers at Trader Joe's today because I bought so much stuff for our house guests...the machine broke. The old ladies behind me kept doing what old ladies do when they get pissed...
BREATHE REALLY LOUD and SIGHhhhh. In my head I was like, "Yeah, you keep breathin', see if it fixes this damn machine! I got flowers for being nice! You might try it sometime"
