Happy New Year LaMies

What is everyone doing tonight? You will have to comment and tell me all about it! I am traveling around seeing friends. No corsets and rhinestone stillettos for me tonight. (I think it's strange too!) I will be sitting around visiting in my penguin jammies eating fudge, well maybe broccoli if I'm good.

Here's a miracle for you! My daughter and I had a cat when she was little named Zipper. He ran away when we moved. Today, 5 years later, he returned. How amazing is that. To us, it was a miracle. I hope 2007 is a wonderfully prosperous year for you and those you love.

I hope everyone's New Year is happy , safe and filled with much music and magic!!!!!

Malena - Snoopy jammies here! :-) And chocolate. There was broccoli last night. That's great about your kitty!

Lorraine - I'm trying really hard not to be gleeful that it was 50 today and the sun came out later in the day... but I can't help it. You're going to have to give me a squinty eye of doom. I love your neck o' the woods except for winter. Have a blast tonight!

Went to a new friends home for a bit for some food, drink and laughs (there was not a veggie served, heehee) This couple had the most beautiful restored farmhouse that I have ever seen -and their barn - amazing - solid and whole, and they are cleaning it up for parties, I am soooo envious. Now home in holey sweats waiting for ball to drop - its about 50 here, remarkable for Michigan. I am going to make an effigy of what to get rid of for the new year, and toss it in the woodstove at midnight, then wait for youngest to return home. Malena - have fun with chocolate - Lo - drive safe while looking great!! - Beez, I have passed my bday, you are on the way to yours - feel better - tho i thought nasy big was pretty funny - take care!!! Happy New Year, and may 2007 be good to us all!

(New Blogger hates me, so if three versions of this post, I'm really sorry...)

Happy New Year, you wonderful beautiful LaMies! Y'all are all so amazing!!

I was at my night job (day job = secretary, night job = waitress at super nummy Italian restaurant) which was cool as I love my coworkers.

Best wishes and love to you all,
grace

i love that "nummy" word, haven't heard that in so long, Grace--thanks for bringing it back...

happy 2007 all, am still on the east coast, trying to stay well above this mystery sickness that is making the rounds. Rang in the new year last night in Baltimore, it was lovely to watch the fireworks in the rain over the bay, and i saw so many old friends.

this year, my resolution is to pledge my heart to art.
art & love. xooxoxxo kitty cat

I was at my in-laws' house in England. We didn't go out (partly because the weather was very wet and windy, partly because we couldn't be bothered) but I wore my new exciting top (otherwise known as "Careful not to fall out of that") and we drank pink champagne as the London fireworks went off (on the TV).

So not my most exciting new year (1999-2000) and not my least. First married one.

Good riddance to 2006 - except for the music, which was grand!

And a fine start to 2007 - my thanks to you, oh fabulous fiddle player, and Mr. Paul Score for braving the elements to delight me with music! I'm still smiling.

And mercifully the road home led west away from the storm - easy driving (once I was sober enough).

I and my family were at friends' house in Frisco, TX, where we gathered with even more friends from East Texas. I had made shortbread using whole wheat flour and some toasted hazelnuts. It was good! And, yes, I did leave some out at home for the fairies.

On the way back from a large mall, we saw a BIG hawk. It was hunting smaller birds, and was right beside the roadway in a parking lot with a pond area between the road and the parking lot. Unfortunately, my husband didn't have his good camera to take a picture. We also saw a REALLY big hawk (possibly an eagle) on the drive home today (Tuesday) between Italy and Hillsboro. We didn't get a picture of that one due to the distance it would take to turn around and, possibly, get back to it.

Happy New Year!

I was happily, intentionally, nestled snug in bed when the new year arrived.

I might have traded it for a sight of all that plaid, had that been an option, though.
