The Weather Event...

OK, woke up to this Storm Warning from the Nationial Weather Service, and had to laugh. Someone has a sense of humour there. I particularly like in the first paragraph the phrase " Do not be fooled " What kind of weather serice warning says " Do not be fooled" ???????????? I expect a slightly sinister weather dude in a long black cape to come out at any moment with a dagger and an ominious voice....

And then in the second " will remain mostly a snow event" A snow event? Is that what we are having????? Will they be selling tickets????? Who's appearing? And why didn't I get the gig?

I will be staying in tonight for this event, not being fooled doing some writing by the fire. Kitty would love this. Malena? Not so much.....

Stay warm and safe where ever you are, and remember, Do Not Be Fooled. By anything.

Snowflakes and Weather,
Lorraine

A WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM CST SUNDAY.

OVERNIGHT MUCH OF CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN MINNESOTA RECEIVED FREEZING RAIN... AND SLEET... RATHER THAN SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL. DO NOT BE FOOLED... THE HEAVY SNOW IS STILL EXPECTED TO ENGULF MUCH OF CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN MINNESOTA BY THIS EVENING. AREAS SOUTH OF A LINE FROM THE TWIN CITIES TO REDWOOD FALLS WILL CONTINUE TO SEE A PERIOD OF FREEZING RAIN AND SLEET... DURING PART OF TODAY... BEFORE THE CHANGEOVER. STORM TOTALS OF 6 TO 10 INCHES OF SNOW ARE EXPECTED BEFORE THE STORM TAPERS OFF SUNDAY AFTERNOON. HOWEVER... SOME AREAS COULD EASILY SEE TOTALS REACHING THE 14 TO 16 INCH RANGE.

OVER WEST CENTRAL WISCONSIN... WHERE SIGNIFICANT SNOW FELL OVERNIGHT... THE STORM WILL REMAIN MOSTLY A SNOW EVENT. AREAS JUST SOUTHEAST OF THE TWIN CITIES... LIKE RIVER FALLS AND DURAND... SHOULD ANTICIPATE A PERIOD OF FREEZING RAIN AND SLEET DURING THE DAYLIGHT HOURS TODAY. STORM TOTALS WILL BE GENERALLY IN THE 8 TO 14 INCH RANGE... BUT SOME AREAS COULD SEE CONSIDERABLY MORE THAN THIS.

That sounds dreadful, but at least it isn't a tornado or an earthquake. Well, I'm off to the beach. LOL No, really I am.
Love you girlies!

Sounds like eventful weather.

Do not be fooled... at least you have a hot tub to jump into in the worst of it.

Eventful weather reminds me of the Chinese "interesting times" thing. I'm fond of uneventful weather, but alas we're having ice, snow and wind so Mother Nature isn't listening to me at all.

That is really the weirdest weather report. It almost seems like it should have theme music.."Do Not Be Fooled..dun-dun DUN_DUN!!" LOL

We were supposed to get sleet and rain here in Indiana but the weather people they did lie to us because it's snowing. Bleah.

I believe that weather reporters like to play a game with words. Whenever we're going to get rain in Southern Califonia, which is rare, they report "Storm Watch". Not, it's going to rain but STORM WATCH! It's rather silly. Wish it would rain! My plants and lawn are dying up! Okay, you can go to the beach but it's far to cold to go into the ocean. Even with a wet suit, I use to be a surfer gal, so I know about these things and can swim like a mermaid. Cowabunga!

Eventful weather?? Interesting times???? oh i can say PLENTY about it as I am caught here like a rat in a trap, shelling out far more money than i had planned on. I left Portland, Oregon this a.m., and get to Minneapolis to find my flight to Grand Rapids, Michigan is cancelled. and it was harder than heck to get a hotel. then all the free hotel shuttles were cancelled because of the weather (however the ones that cost $15. still run) and will remain so throughout tomorrow morning. who knows if my flight will stay on schedule tomorrow or cancel again. so here i am stuck in the sheraton bloomington - which by the way defines medium rare as "hockey puck" with no luggage. i bought a pair of shorts which say bite me, sums up my mood succintly. and a tshirt with a squirrel on it. definitely not my first fashion choice.....i hate winter.....i really really want to go home......:(

Stay warm, whatever the weather decides to do. :)

We were supposed to have strong thunderstorms, then lots of wind. No thunderstorms, but we did have LOTS of wind. In fact, we had a visit from West Texas. The dust was almost thick enough to block out the sun. Lovely stuff to breathe and taste.
BUT, it's not cold.
