Le'range for LaM

I found the most perfect fruit today at Trader Joe's. They call it a "sweet meyer lemon" I call it a Le'range. It's a mix between an orange and a lemon. Talk about the best of both worlds. These little Le'ranges are right up there with Sorrel from Neil's garden. Hey, Miss Fabulous! When does that blessed little plant show itself? I miss eating it. Sorrel tastes like lemon and fresh spinach missed together.
It's been rainy and cold here. (Ha ha)Yes, I actually wore a jacket today. But spring IS here. The jasmine is blooming and the lemons are almost ripe on the tree I planted last fall.

Lorraine is off entertaining the masses tonight. LUCKY GIRL. I will refrain from calling her a buzzard. hee hee I am making some brownies for Miles and working on our merch for Balticon. Kitty, Nora and I are cooking up some fabulous finds. Jewelry, bags, shirts, potions, etc. etc. For those of you who are going, email me your shirt size. We want to outfit everyone in LaMie gear!!

I don't know if any of you read my "how to manifest changes" blog on my site, so I thought I'd share it with you. Here on the LaM blog, I don't write much of the "woo woo" stuff. But, Lorraine liked this one so here it is....

In January we focused on ending old patterns and starting new, more positive trends. In February, we need to focus on preparing our lives for the new. Expect what you've been focusing on to manifest. We must prepare our bodies, our minds and our spirits to be receptive to positive change. I'll put it into 3 steps for you.

1. Believe! Believe you are worthy of what you're asking for. Believe it IS possible. Believe in the unseen. Remember, spirit is by nature spontaneous. You never know HOW heaven will deliver but it does...if you believe it can. Our views of "what is" can be very limiting to our growth. Step out of your paradigm this week. Little changes bring big success.

2. Expect! Expect you WILL feel better, expect you will get a better job, etc. Believe in the end result and expect it. Accept nothing less than the most positive outcome.

3. Attract! When you believe and expect "it" will happen, you begin to attract people into your life who can help you. Energetic "magnetic" attraction. There's really nothing "magic" about it. Magic is just a word people use for miraculous things they don't understand. Have you ever noticed when you're in a bad mood on the freeway and everyone around you seems to be driving like psychos? That is a good example of magnetic attraction. We attract people around us who have aspects of our personality, our hopes and our fears. Everyone around you is a reflection of yourself. (What you love, what you hate, what you fear, what you are, who you were, what you want to be) You attract what you think about. Very simple.

Sorrell? Is that like the little clover shaped plants with the yellow flowers? I use that for herbal medicine reasons. I think you mean something else?

Shirt size? I buy EVERYTHING too big because I HATE being uncomfortable. Then the clothes are even more uncomfortable. I'd say I wear a large, but I probably wear a medium. Also, by the time I get to Bcon, I, hopefully, will be in a small thanks to your psychic diet. :-)

Manifesting...believing...funny you should mention that. I hear you mentioned to Ravyn that there is a business opportunity of sorts. I play ignorant alot, but I know what it is...I've been telling Ravyn for some time now. I actually think it is the beginning of what I've seen manifest all my life. I'm really exited. I'll let you know when it happens. I have a sneaky feeling you may already know what it is? This _is_ a time of change, baby!

Oh, btw, I don't know that your readership knows who Nora is. ;-)

**chuckle** okay.

Ravyn is Nora, Nora is Ravyn. The nickname was given to me by a friend who referred to me as his "raven-tressed bard". That, plus my love of birds, led me to use Ravyn for my business name. And it seems to fit :-)

Yes, warmer indeed - we are at 21 degrees and it felt positively balmy and I cranked the wood stove down (thank god I get tired of hauling wood all day)

Very inspirational post and true, it was nice to be reminded about the power of positive thinking. I needed that as I woke up not on the wrong side but underneath the bed - which is pretty black.

Malena, what does the lemon/orange taste like? more to the lemon, or sweeter? Vanda, you are being quite mysterious but it sounds like wonderful opportunities are in the horizon - cool! Shirt size? Large in women's, sometimes xl if they are baby dolls. I don't care for tight shirts much either.

oooh, Malena, thank you for the reminder on affirming that which we wish to manifest. everything in my life is owed to that little magic.
i have tasted the haunted sorrel from the Gaiman family gardens, and it is like nothing else.

Ravyn, your sweet devil avatar looks like she is winking at us...!
ps girl, i owe you an email!

hey thanks Dan.... that is a "halloween portrait" of myself, done in Adobe Illustrator for a client project, actually, heh. Ohhhhhhh i guess i'll have to put up a larger version somewhere

Yep Danth, That's Ravyn the Succu-goddess! ::grin::
My new icon is the horse she sculpted and cast at Lisa's and painted for me for Yule. I'll see if I can post a link later. I have several computers and I am not at the right one currently.

Ahh...wood sorrell...different.

Oh and ivenotime...I really don't mean to be "mysterious", but I am trying to actually see if Malena sees what I see. Not that I am doubting her psychic abilities, but it would provide support for my own visions. I've had a vision almost forever of the place I will be, of who I will be, of finding my place. I think Malena is stumbling onto the beginning of this change, new cycle, occurrence with her comments to Ravyn and me during our respective readings. Pretty darn exciting for me!! In fact, I think this 'beginning/change' sparked the concept of the "god/dess convergence" party.

Ravyn darlinG! I LOVE the avatar. Sounds like VandaLuna is willing to join in the "evil" plan...or better yet, Invented the plan. Yeah for best friends.

The "Evil Plan"...I love it!
Invented the plan? I have a strong shy streak, so I'll defer to Ravyn's evil genius. I will say, however, that I am feeling really good right now.

Oooh I'll have to look for that lemon local Trader Joe's! It sounds divine.

Wish I could go to Balticon. It's just too close to ConVocation for me. I might make ConVergence though.

Okay! Just Stop!! All this talk about Trader Joes is making me wonky. I must get out of the provinces.

You and me both: its Meijers and Walmart here and that is it. ugh, even the small grocery stores have closed - its either the gas station or the behomeths! Glad to hear of evil plans and rising stars - yeh for Vanda and Ravyn and all other evil planners So that is the sculpted horse? I wondered when I saw the avatar, how bout a picture? Intuitive, psychic powers have always intrigued me - I'm an intuit-not. (great pic, Ravyn!)

I do most of my shopping on the internet. Toiletries I get at the Publix (which I pronounce "pyube licks") a local (regional?) grocery store. I actually will not shop at the WalMart (the WM here is the largest seller of Budweiser in the country) as I protest their practice of undercutting the sweatshop wages in countries which are already poor enough. The closest shopping/city is 100 miles from me. Ahh...but I'm not far from New Orleans or Atlanta!! There are plusses.

And speaking of the WM, there is a nice little article in the Washington Post, http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/02/19/AR2006021901101.html on carbon monoxide treated meats. I suspect the largest retailer of said meat is the WalMart.

The horsey!! Yesss!! That's one of about 6 Ravyn made, of which mine is the best! No, that is true!! It really is! I will post a better pic later or Ravyn can if she reads this. It is truly gorgeous.

Psychic powers? I come from a long line of strong women with abilities. Ravyn's huzbin says of me (referring to when he knew me in high school), "she was scary then and she's scary now". Probably one of the nicest things anyone has ever said about me. :-) Truth is, I'm not psychic, I just know things. It is all about being in touch with your intuition and I always tell people (Ravyn included...hear me biatch??) that a most important thing is meditation. It, imo, is the first step to healing one's self, to feeling whole. After that, you can work on building on your foundations.

Okay...I usually don't apologize for rambling on, and I really don't wish to monopolize the board. But sorry anyway. If you lived in podunk PC, you'd ramble in a blog like this too.

Malena: Go to a local nursery that has lots of herbs and see if they have any sorrel, or better yet, call around. They may have some, then again all they may have is seed. Granted, it won't be from the Gaiman garden, but you won't have to wait until June.

For those of us of more southern latitudes, yes, it's spring. That wonderful time of year where we have 80 degrees F on one day and a high in the 40s the next followed by freezing, or near for the next two days. This means our trees are very confused. The red oaks are budding out, and our pomegranate had leafed out before the freeze. I still haven't checked it. ::sigh:: We have to worry about freezes until Easter, then it's pretty safe. I haven't even glanced at the peach or persimmon trees. The rosemary seems to be a happy camper, but I fear the aloe is toast.

Comparing impressions is always a good thing, imo. Helps define outside input from pure imagination. I think I've finally gotten away from second-guessing myself and am now paying attention when I get a bad/good feeling about something. Clue by fours are not fun, but sometimes it drives home the point.

I'm getting way too amorphous, so I'll stop. :)

so happy to hear of the walmart boycotting.
they are a true insidious evil & i won't go on and on here, but good work, V-luna!

as for 14 hours of the Irish, wish i would be there for at least a few of those hours...

Sorry to rub it in about the Joe's..it wasn't that long ago when I was in the same boat. Guess I'm still a little giddy;-P.

Vanda I feel the same way about WallyWorld. I try very hard not to give them any of my money, but since I work second shift sometimes I have no choice.

Lorraine, 14 hours of Irish sounds like the right way to spend St. Pat's to me.:)

Ok, first comment of the day is,
RAVYN babe! The horse is really really beautiful. Like, I'd buy it in a high end fairy store kind of beatiful. You really are talented... in so many ways. Ravyn multi-media indeed.

Ivenotime-A Meyer lemon tastes like.... a lemon with all the bitter squeezed out and replaced with oranges so sweet you could sweeten a cake with them. Ultra Yummy! I ate 4 in one day. I would eat 4 every DAY. ahh! It's my new chocolate..how's that for de-lish!

Wal_Mart- Here's a link to a documentary that will tell you more than you want to know! http://www.walmartmovie.com

Vanda, Publix! I lived in the south for a short while and I remember that chain. What about Piggly Wiggly? Yes, it's THE NAME OF A SUPERMARKET in the south. Better than fiction man!

Ohhhh reading party! I will plan a reading party one night. You can all get on Yahoo IM and see/talk to me and ask me questions. We can do cards, etc. Just one question at a time is all I ask. Hee ee.
I'll bring out my crystal ball....Hey I saw some cool stuff in there the last time I used it. 13

At 1:29 PM , Blogger vandaluna said...

Yes, I've shopped at Piggly Wigglys. We do not have them in PC or PCB, but close enough. But, funny you should mention it... My boss' (you'll remember him from my reading, pehaps) friend and her husband own the chain. Sheesh! I've known this woman for 5 or so years, been to her house, worked on a campaign for her and NEVER knew that.

Oh tuaregblue, I was just yanking your chain a little about Trader Joes. I've emailed TJs and asked them to put a TJs here and they've repeatedly replied something on the lines of, "No way in hell.".

I've seen the documentary on the WM. What first turned me off about the store was the overwhelming sense of rudeness you feel when you go in. I won't go on...I'm sure you all know.

Malena, Ravyn is simply incredible in multitudes of ways. She has few, if any, shortcomings. One she will be taking care of before I visit her on March 4. (N - Remember what I said about pushing it to one side of the room?)

Oooh, plants. Gardens. I bought another orchid yesterday. I got a REALLY good deal on a huge Cymbidium.

Reading party? What a fun idea!!

Yes I try to avoid the Wal as much as I can, tho I don't think Meijers is much better. I LOVE Trader Joes - there is one not too far from my sister's place (tho 4 hours from me) Such a great place.
St. Pat's day would be fun - I miss living in Chicago for St. Pat's, whole city turns Irish, we'd dance all night long. Arian and Vanda, I envy you being south -winter has been old news since the holidays. And Vanda, don't worry, you are always interesting in your posts (spoken from one who gets wordy too, haha) I have a very little knowledge about the women in my family and am jealous of your lineage!

I'm not sure if the Piggly Wiggly chain left Texas, or only locally. My dad used to call it "Hoggle Shewoggle." Mostly it got pushed out by HEB, a regional grocery store that started out in Corpus Christi and is now based in San Antonio. Safeway went bankrupt and left Texas 10 (?) years ago. So the only national grocery chain in my area of Texas is Albertson's, and even then there's only 1. ::shrug:: At least HEB generally buys produce locally and their prices are in line with the local Farmer's Market, when it's running.

Reading party online......could be interesting. Some friends and I tried something similar around 20 years ago, except we were all in the same room. All four of us had STAR+GATE decks. I don't remember specific questions/answers other than I was always last to lay out my cards and ended up with mud. That and my period started, as did the other female there; the problem was that she was on birth control pills and had just had her period two weeks before.

A good piccie of Ravyn's horsie:
http://www.catatonicstudios.com/ravyn_horse.jpg

ivenotime: be not jealous of my lineage. It was just understood that you buried things at crossroads you wanted to banish, never put mirrors reflecting out of the house, never bring peacock feathers into the house, and ghosts and spirits regularly sat down on our beds and said, "Hello". I grew up in a haunted house and have about a zillion ghost stories. The town I grew up in, Mt. Rainier, MD, is where the exorcist actually took place. Gads! I'm getting homesick again.

Safeway...that is where we always used to shop. We never liked the Giant. There wasn't much else in the D.C. area for shopping in the '70s.

We have an Albertson's here but it is confusing and I don't like shopping there. Then there's the Winn-Dixie. It is alright, but it just isn't Publix. I shopped alot at Fresh Fields (now Whole Foods) when I lived in Maryland. Luckily Publix is getting some organic foods in. Seriously though, if you drink milk (I only put it on cereal) the Organic Valley milk exceeds awesome.

Oh, if you have the bandwidth check this out:
http://vod.tripsmarter.com/clients/destin/D_DestinWinery_021906_2.htm
The people in this commercial, Kevin and Patricia, are friends of mine...No, wait, Patricia is a friend...Kevin? you can have him.

I designed their website:
http://www.destinwinery.com. If you have any feedback or comments on the site, I would greatly appreciate them. All the images and graphics for the design I created or photographed myself. Ravyn and I are thinking of bringing some of their wines to Baltic Con. (Think Mango...or as I say, Mingo). I am partial to the sweet black berry wine. The tomato wine is nice too. (think bloody mary).

apple: Best of luck! I'm sure if the job is worthy of you, it will be yours. :-) I've had the goddess truly watch after me, even if the results were not what I wanted they were indeed best for me. I'm sure it is the same for everyone... (still questioning that some).

Hot-house raising hopes and dreams. A wonderful illustration.

Appleblossom: fingers crossed with nothing but good luck wishes! Hope all goes well for you! Cava sounds lovely, too (and paella is yummy stuff). Malena, its 11ish est and I now want a Meyer lemon now. right now, they sound yummy! I have a rather dried up regular lemon in the fridge, a poor substitute. (but I do have some chocolate). An online reading sounds like great fun, tho getting answers to questions is such a mixed bag, it's a bit scary. Ok Vanda NOW you've done it. What a cool upbringing and legacy, makes me smile to think of it. and being thought of as scary is truly a great compliment. Lucky Girl! I will ck out the pics and sites after I post this, I do want to see Ravyn's sculpture. Mango and tomato wine? Interesting!

Fruit wine? Cava! Oh yeah. Sign me up! I'm a cheap alcohol date anyway. Two glasses of wine and I'll fall asleep in the middle of an opera.
I loved the wine website. Great background sound. What little web weavers we are!
Good Luck Apple! We all send you positive and prosperous energy!

Vanda, you grew UP in a haunted house. We must talk Missy!

ariandalen, Lorraine and I are off to find me some Sorrel plants. Good idea!

Do we have the coolest blog or what? Because of Danth Lorraine is learning to, shall we say, "Bust a Move"
Shake what cho' Momma gave ya..you sexy thing! ....Sexy thang Yo!

Heehee. Piggly Wiggly is still the weirdest name on a grocery store I've ever seen. They have 'em in Wisconsin still. (They call it "the Pig" as in "Are you goin' to the Pig today?)

Ravyn somehow I missed that sculpture! (until Vanda ever so helpfully posted a big photo.) Doh! It's beautiful!

A reading party online does sound like fun to me:).

And best of luck to Miss Appleblossom. I really love the idea of "hot-house raising hopes and dreams."
