Danth Guyth Rockth

Now I am completely speechless! You will never guess what just showed up on my doorstep ( or maybe you already know, sneaky bunch you are ) , Well, it is a Dance Performance computer dance machine thingie!!!!!

From Danth Guyth!

Dan, what do I say??????

( oh, wait, I got it )

THANK YOU!!!!!!

I have always wanted one ever since I heard of them a few years ago, I thought , what a wonderful form of working out, one could stomp and dance away and lose all track of time and have a whole lot of fun. What an amazing and unexpected gift, I can't thank you enough. I can't wait to try it out, wish I didn't have to gig tonight. I'd say " you shouldn't have" and you shouldn't have, but I am really so happy that you did!

Yes, there will be photos of my stomping. Perhaps I will even take it to LA next time I am out there, and try and talk Malena into stomping with me. ( no, I am pretty sure there will be no photos of that ) Thank you Dan Guy. I owe you a favor. ( a Really Big Favor for you Neverwhere fans )

It is cold here. Not chilly, not nippy but COLD. Right now it is -5 , and falling to -20 tonight, and the wind chill now is -45. For you folks in California that means it feels more than 100 degrees colder than you are now. I don't get cold in California. Ever. It is so cold here, with this wind chill, you can't dress warm enough to stay warm. Not that we are going to tromps, I am talking house to car to grocery store.

Cold.

I am trying to figure out a way that we can play this show tonight remotely. We could three way call the bar, and they could leave the phone on the stage, and anyone who wanted to could pick it up and have a listen whenever they liked.

Of course, WHO is crazy enough to come down to Stillwater with the -20 temps to listen to a fool of an Irish Band??????

I'll see you there tonight. You're my kind of crowd.

Love, Dancing and Warm Fuzzy Blankets,
Lorraine

But, but, but.... you and Malena have web cams... imagine the fun if you put on a dance show! :-D

I believe tromping is similar to stomping, only I tend to associate it with stuff that needs to be waded through - such as too much snow, or deep leaves - but don't think it's required.

Danth does indeed rock (and dance! and stomp!)

Oh my goodness. *blush*

We have to play DDR at Balticon. I'll try to scounge together a spare computer with tv-out.

I meant to mention, speaking of stomping, that you should invest in pads to put beneath the dance pads in order to spare your back and knees. I found these thick, large foam interlocking square jig-saw pieces at Walmart that work well -- at one they were in the childrens section, in another they were with the flooring.

Brrr! I still wish I could be there, of course.

ummmm, lemme check on that, Dan. We've had DDR at Balticon in the past, i just don't know what arrangements have been made (yet) for this year's con. i'll let you know when i find out :-)

Before i broke my leg, i was DDRing for exercise too. i loved it. Right now i have a little too much pain in my ankle to hop on it a lot. But maybe regular walking exercise will help that.

Hey LaMies! Sounds like a dance contest at Balticon, or at least Lorraine's house. Oh yes, I like to boogie down baby. My daughter has one of those playstation dance mats. Super fun. Like Twister with music.
I'm happy to say I am starting to feel better today. Everyone in LA had the flu last month I guess.
It rained to today! Oh wow! That's big news in sun city.

Disney's "The Shaggy Dog" is coming out soon. Miles did the lab animals. Yeah, the freaks, the changlings. So, let me know if your kids like it.

Kitty, where are we going next week? I'm feeling healthy and ready to rumba baby!

Maureen, Dance Show? Darling! Don't tempt me. I love to dance. Which reminds me of one night at the Rec with Lorraine when I decided to liven things up and do a russian dance. Didn't know the song was like, 10 minutes long. All I can say is, thank god for support bras. Hey now, that's a blog of it's own.

hey, if you guys want to have a DDR contest, or something, i can put in a word with our Program Director and Computer Room Director, and see if we can have the room (or at least the dance pad(s) ) for an hour or so.

I have two DDR mats, but the childling now calls the PSII hers. Everything I get that she likes eventually gets called hers. ::chuckle::

Great giftie!!! How very sweet!!

The avatar is my state of mind. It used to be Jim Dandy's cute little face, but it's too painful to use that any more. His face was my icon everywhere, because it was such a fun pic. I suppose this is the icon equivalent of wearing black during a mourning period. I miss him horribly.

Cool! Hope you have lots of fun with it!

MOG! I would actually do DDR with you guys if I were there - and for some reason I'm really bothered by DDR (which is kind of funny when you consider how often I can be seen dancing around my own house just because there's music on). Excellent gift indeed!

Rayvn :: Where are you located? Are you local? If there's a computer hooked up to a projector we can use at the con then I can bring the dance mats, software, and a few GB of songs.

Malena :: I'm rewatching Chronicles of Riddick tonight; Miles did design for it, right?

Lorraine :: I'm having a nice, lazy weekend so don't hesitate to call if you need me to walk you through setting it up. It sounds like you figured the hard part out on your own already!

Yes Danth. Miles did the Lord Marshall and the hellhound. We have the helmit here at the house. I'll take a photo of it if you like.
